Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a disease caused by the dengue virus and transmitted by the Aedes Aegypti mosquito, DHF also occurs regularly and affects all age groups. This disease is related to people's behavior and the conditions or circumstances of the surrounding environment. This study aims to determine the relationship between mosquito nest eradication behavior and the habit of using mosquito coils on the incidence of DHF in Pekat Village, Kec. Sumbawa Regency Sumbawa. The type of research used in this research is an analytical survey using a case control research design. The results of the study based on the results of the Chi-Square test (X2) showed that there was a significant relationship between the practice of eradicating mosquito nests and the incidence of DHF (p value = 0.035), while the OR calculation results obtained OR = 0.267 indicating that the respondent's confidence interval (CI) was 95 %= 0.78-0.930. From these results it can be interpreted that eradicating mosquito nests is not a risk factor for DHF. The results of the Chi-Square test (X2) showed a significant relationship between the habit of using mosquito coils and the incidence of DHF (p value = 0.033), while the OR calculation results obtained OR = 0.260 by showing the respondent's habit of using mosquito coils Confidential Interval (CI) 95% = 95% = 0.73-0.921. From these results it can be interpreted that the habit of using mosquito coils is not a risk factor for DHF.

Abstract

Environmental problems that occur today have reached an alarming level. Global warming, flooding in the rainy season, and summer drought are environmental problems troubling people. These problems result from human behavior that is not wise in managing the environment. The trigger for this problem is human behavior, so the solution is to change behavior. Changes in human behavior toward the environment can be done by integrating various subjects, such as a "Hidden Curriculum." One of the subjects that can integrate environmental education is high school physics. For the integration to be right on target, it is necessary to design a curriculum. It is necessary to create a matrix of integration of education in learning senior high school vision. This article was written to convey the results of research in the form of environmental integration design in class XI semester two high school physics learning, mapping subject matter, and environmental competencies. The results obtained are in the form of an integration matrix. This matrix becomes a reference for developing programs and learning tools for implementing environmental education integration in physics learning class XI, semester 2. To achieve the objectives, qualitative research methods are applied

Abstract

This study is a qualitative descriptive study aimed at determining student responses to the use of concept-changed text (CCT)-based materials in science to learn the concept of energy. The data collection technique used was stratified sampling with 114 students in grades IV and V as research subjects. Data were collected using non-testing equipment in the form of questionnaires with Likert scales, distributed after students participated in the learning process, and processed using percentage statistical formulas. The results showed that class IV was 82.13% and class V was 80.63%, both of which were included in the very decent category. Effectively use Conceptual Change Text (CCT) to overcome student misconceptions based on data collection results. In learning using CCT students can independently correct mistakes and difficulties in understanding the concepts they have experienced so far. This research can be a recommendation for other researchers in using CCT-based teaching materials to help students learn.

Abstract

Self-efficacy intervention in curriculum design is an effort to improve the quality of teaching practice for pre-service teachers. This research aims to redefine how pre-service teachers' self-efficacy changes through Physics Learning and Microteaching courses. Interventions are given by designing lectures with mastery of knowledge, guidance, teaching experience, and reflection on teaching experience. The intervention carried out 32 meetings (with a total of 67 hours) in 1 semester. The data collection techniques used a questionnaire consisting of 18 statements and reasons for giving the score through pre-test, mid-test, and post-test. The participants were 51 students in teacher education institutions in Indonesia. The results show that integrating activities such as delivering information about PCK, guidance, and their experience in teaching increased their self-efficacy. Still, their self-efficacy decreased after the teaching experience and reflection on their experience. These results recommend that teaching practice reflection activities should not be the last resort in improving students' self-efficacy. Providing information, guidance, teaching practice, and reflection should become an iterative process, where self-reflection notes as a tool to enhance their performance deficiencies and self-efficacy can be improved

Abstract

Salicylic acid is a naturally active substance known to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activity, but it has side effects in the gastrointestinal tract. The modification of its carboxylic groups into amide derivatives can be a solution to overcome its weakness. This study synthesized salicylamide analogs, 2-hydroxy-N-(pyridine-2-yl)benzamide (1) and, its Mannich base derivatives. The synthesized compounds (2a-b) showed anti-inflammatory activity based on an in-vitro anti-inflammatory activity test using the inhibition protein denaturation method. The IC50 obtained was in the range of 0.121-0.145 mM. The potency was lower than piroxicam used as a standard compound (IC50 = 0.0073 mM). The molecular docking result shows that the ratio of COX-2/COX-1 binding affinity and ligand interaction of all synthesized compounds were not COX-2 selective.
