Abstract

Reading, writing, and counting (calistung) are fundamental skills taught early to students and have become a significant issue in the learning process of upper elementary classes faced by teachers at the primary school level. This study aims to analyze the learning difficulties in calistung and the efforts made by schools and teachers to address these difficulties in upper elementary school students. The research method employed is qualitative, using a case study approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and document analysis. The research sample consisted of upper elementary students (grades IV to VI) who experienced difficulties in calistung, selected through purposive sampling. The data analysis technique involved stages such as data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate the presence of calistung learning difficulties among upper elementary school students, which include pre-academic and academic learning difficulties influenced by internal and external factors. Pre-academic learning difficulties involve deviant student behavior and language development disorders, while academic learning difficulties encompass challenges in reading, writing, and counting. The study suggests that calistung learning difficulties in upper elementary schools can be addressed through teachers designing effective learning activities based on student needs and providing counseling services for students facing learning challenges.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis profil pelajar Pancasila pada siswa sekolah menengah atas di Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan melibatkan 100 siswa kelas sepuluh dari berbagai jenis sekolah di Jawa Barat. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif, yang meliputi pengumpulan, reduksi, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek profil pelajar Pancasila yang memiliki kualifikasi tinggi adalah keimanan dan ketakwaan (84,64%), kebhinekaan global (82,25%), gotong royong (80,54%), kemandirian (84,02%), dan penalaran kritis (81,34%). Aspek kreativitas memperoleh kualifikasi cukup dengan skor 77,02%. Kesimpulannya, siswa di Jawa Barat telah menerapkan nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam kehidupan mereka. Analysis of Pancasila Learner Profile among senior high school students in West Java Abstract: This study aims to analyze the Pancasila student profile among high school students in West Java. The research employs a survey method, involving 100 tenth-grade students from various types of schools in West Java. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using interactive analysis techniques, including data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that the aspects of the Pancasila student profile with high qualifications are faith and piety (84.64%), global diversity (82.25%), cooperation (80.54%), independence (84.02%), and critical reasoning (81.34%). The creativity aspect received a sufficient qualification with a score of 77.02%. In conclusion, students in West Java have successfully applied Pancasila values in their lives.

Abstract

The research is essential to be conducted as the shift from traditional classroom instruction to online instruction becomes a requirement for 21st-century environmental learning. Before implementing e-learning, everything must be ready, and students’ attitudes must be taken into account. This study, therefore, sought to describe students' attitudes regarding online learning in entrepreneurship courses following the implementation of problem-based learning through online laboratory entrepreneurship (PBL-OLE). The research design applied is combination of quantitative and qualitative. The analysis of the data was done with quantitative descriptive techniques. The phenomenon of students' attitudes toward e-learning was documented in a number of contexts, including the TelRA domain and students' attitudes toward economic learning. The results of the student surveys were compared and explained in this descriptive quantitative study. According to the students' attitudes toward entrepreneurship, e-learning, and gender, students' perspectives were described. 28 college students who were chosen at random from University of PGRI Jombang in economic education program in East Java, Indonesia, participated in this study as respondents. Based on the E-learning challenges, the results revealed that the mean score was. Educational Institutions must be conscientious in order to produce creative classroom instruction if it wants to increase and improve students' attitudes with regard to e-learning and business.

Abstract

Abstrak: Sampah menjadi masalah global yang membutuhkan kontribusi semua elemen masyarakat untuk ikut mengatasinya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) menganalisis penerapan etika lingkungan dalam pengelolaan sampah di TPA Ngronggo, Salatiga dan (2) mendeskripsikan peluang penerapan etika lingkungan di lingkungan rumah dan sekolah. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Subyek penelitian ini adalah pengelola TPA Ngronggo, guru dan siswa SMP Muhammadiyah Plus Salatiga, serta warga di sekitar TPA Ngronggo, Salatiga. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah 1) TPA Ngronggo sudah menerapkan etika lingkungan ekosentrisme dalam pengelolaan sampah, tetapi masih membutuhkan usaha untuk meningkatkan efektivitasnya karena umur TPA yang sudah tua dan kapasitas sampah yang sudah melebihi batas maksimal sehingga efek pencemaran sampah tetap terjadi; (2) penerapan etika lingkungan di TPA Ngronggo, Salatiga dapat menjadi bahan studi kasus tentang pengembangan model pengelolaan sampah di lingkungan rumah dan sekolah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pengelolaan sampah berbasis etika lingkungan di TPA berpotensi diterapkan di lingkungan sekitar rumah dan sekolah. Educating an Environmentally Conscious Generation: Lessons from Landfills for Homes and Schools Abstract: Waste has become a global issue that requires contributions from all elements of society to address it. The objectives of this study are (1) to analyze the application of environmental ethics in waste management at the Ngronggo landfill, Salatiga, and (2) to describe the opportunities for applying environmental ethics in home and school environments. This research is a survey study. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The subjects of this research were the managers of the Ngronggo landfill, teachers and students of SMP Muhammadiyah Plus Salatiga, and residents around the Ngronggo landfill, Salatiga. The research data were analyzed descriptively. The results of this study are: (1) the Ngronggo landfill has applied ecocentric environmental ethics in waste management, but still needs efforts to improve its effectiveness due to the old age of the landfill and the waste capacity that has exceeded the maximum limit, resulting in ongoing pollution effects; (2) the application of environmental ethics at the Ngronggo landfill, Salatiga can serve as a case study for developing a waste management model in home and school environments. The results of this study indicate that the waste management model based on environmental ethics at the landfill has the potential to be applied in surrounding home and school environments.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning allows students to organize, monitor, and evaluate their learning process, which has a positive impact on mathematical reasoning abilities. This research aims to analyze and describe the differences in the influence of the level of self-regulated learning on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The research method used is quantitative, which allows the collection and analysis of numerical data to identify patterns and relationships. The method's goal is to measure variables, test hypotheses, and make generalizations from a sample to a broader population. The sample for this research was eighth-grade students in Bandung. The research instrument is in the form of 30 questionnaire statements about students' self-regulated learning. The research hypothesis, there are differences in the influence of self-regulated learning levels on enhancing students’ mathematical reasoning abilities. The research results show that there are differences in the influence of the level of self-regulated learning on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. In addition, variations were found in the influence of the level of self-regulated learning on enhancing students' mathematical reasoning abilities. This research concludes that the level of self-regulated learning plays an important role in enhancing students' mathematical reasoning abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur efektivitas e-modul interaktif matematika berbasis local issues dengan pendekatan personalized learning dalam meningkatkan kemampuan CT siswa SMP. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen pretest-posttest control group design dengan sampel terdiri dari 60 siswa yang dibagi menjadi kelompok eksperimen sebanyak 30 siswa yang menggunakan e-modul interaktif dan kelompok kontrol sebanyak 30 siswa yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan CT yang telah divalidasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan independent sample t-test untuk membandingkan perbedaan rata-rata kemampuan CT antara kedua kelompok sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan CT siswa di kelompok eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol. Hasil analisis diperoleh nilai sig. 2-tailed adalah 0.00. Nilai ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan e-modul interaktif matematika berbasis lokal issues dengan pendekatan personalized learning efektif terhadap CT siswa SMP. Hasil penelitian ini memiliki implikasi praktis bagi pengembangan kurikulum dan metode pengajaran, serta dapat menjadi acuan bagi pendidik dan pembuat kebijakan dalam merancang program pembelajaran yang lebih adaptif dan kontekstual. Effectiveness of interactive e-modules for mathematics based on local issues with a personalized learning approach to computational thinking Abstract: This study aims to measure the effectiveness of an interactive e-module of mathematics based on local issues with a personalized learning approach in improving the CT ability of junior high school students. The research design used was an experimental pretest-posttest control group design with a sample of 60 students divided into an experimental group of 30 students using interactive e-modules and a control group of 30 students using conventional learning methods. The instrument used was a validated CT ability test. Data analysis was conducted using an independent sample t-test to compare the average difference in CT ability between the two groups before and after treatment. The results showed that there was a significant increase in students' CT ability in the experimental group compared to the control group. The results of the analysis obtained the sig. 2-tailed is 0.00. This value shows that the use of interactive e-modules of mathematics based on local issues with personalized learning approach is effective on CT of junior high school students. The results of this study have practical implications for curriculum development and teaching methods and can be a reference for educators and policymakers in designing learning programs that are more adaptive and contextual.

Abstract

Plastic waste has become a serious issue for the environment and health. This study aims to analyze the management of plastic waste using the LCA approach and its influence on sustainability literacy in science learning. The research utilizes a mixed-methods exploratory sequential design. It begins with qualitative data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation, followed by quantitative data collection through experimental design. Sustainability literacy is assessed using a Sustainability Literacy questionnaire. Data analysis techniques include data condensation, data display, and data verification. Hypothesis testing is conducted using t-tests. The analysis results suggest that the LCA approach can be an alternative to managing plastic waste. LCA provides a systematic process consisting of goal formulation, data inventory, impact assessment, and interpretation. Knowledge and understanding of plastic waste management are efforts to promote sustainability literacy among university students. The sustainability literacy profile of students is categorized as very good. In terms of t-test analysis results, the SSIBL model proves to influence students' sustainability literacy with a significance value of 0.042.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) Produce digital learning media from several STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) disciplines based on scratch in the form of coding games on the material characteristics of living things for elementary schools, and (2) Knowing the feasibility of digital learning media STEAM based on scratch game coding on the material characteristics of living things for elementary schools. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The trial was conducted on 30 students of Muhammadiyah Purworejo University. The sampling technique of this research is purposive random sampling. Data collection used observation, interview, and questionnaire techniques. Data analysis techniques using quantitative descriptive statistical processing. The results of this study, namely: (1) STEAM learning media based on coding scratch games on the material of the characteristics of living things for elementary school. (2) The feasibility of STEAM learning media based on coding scratch games on the material characteristics of living things for elementary schools obtained a value in the aspect of ideas with a percentage of 95.83% very feasible category, the aspect of usefulness with a percentage of 95.00% very feasible category, the aspect of creativity with a percentage of 92.50% very feasible category, and the display aspect with a percentage of 93.33% very feasible category. Based on the results of the assessment of the aspects of ideas, usefulness, creativity, and appearance of STEAM learning media based on coding scratch games on the material of the characteristics of living things for elementary schools, it is declared feasible to apply with very feasible criteria. In addition, digital learning media can harmonize existing technological developments in accordance with the times.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh dan efektivitas brain-based learning berbantuan PhET Interactive Simulations terhadap pemahaman konseptual matematika siswa sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Sampel terdiri dari 28 siswa kelas IV di sebuah sekolah dasar di Jakarta Selatan yang dipilih secara acak. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada 4-29 Maret 2024. Siswa diberikan tes pemahaman konseptual matematika sebelum (pretest) dan sesudah (posttest) penerapan brain-based learning berbantuan PhET. Data dianalisis menggunakan paired sample t-test untuk mengukur pengaruh dan Uji N-Gain untuk efektivitas. Hasil analisis paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai sig sebesar 0,00 < 0,05, yang mengindikasikan adanya pengaruh signifikan brain-based learning berbantuan PhET terhadap pemahaman konseptual matematika siswa. Uji N-Gain menunjukkan rata-rata presentasi sebesar 59,94%, yang berarti brain-based learning berbantuan PhET cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual siswa. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi BBL dan PhET Interactive Simulations efektif meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. The effect of brain-based learning assisted by PhET interactive simulations on elementary school students' mathematical conceptual understanding ability Abstract: This study aims to examine the impact and effectiveness of brain-based learning supported by PhET Interactive Simulations on elementary students' conceptual understanding of mathematics. The research method employed is a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The sample consisted of 28 fourth-grade students from an elementary school in South Jakarta, selected randomly. The study was conducted from March 4 to March 29, 2024. Students were given a conceptual understanding test in mathematics both before (pretest) and after (posttest) the implementation of brain-based learning supported by PhET. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test to measure the impact and the N-Gain test to assess effectiveness. The paired sample t-test analysis showed a significance value of 0.00 < 0.05, indicating a significant impact of brain-based learning supported by PhET on students' conceptual understanding of mathematics. The N-Gain test revealed an average score of 59.94%, suggesting that brain-based learning supported by PhET is fairly effective in enhancing students' conceptual understanding. These findings indicate that the integration of brain-based learning and PhET Interactive Simulations effectively improves the quality of mathematics education in elementary schools.
