Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan fakta cerita yang meliputi alur, tokoh dan latar. Kedua, mendeskripsikan gambaran kehidupan Bissu yang terdapat dalam novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat karya Faisal Oddang. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan sosiologi sastra Ian Watt. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif.Data dalam penelitian berupaini kata, frasa dan kalimat yang terdapat dalam novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat.Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu teknik membaca dan mencatat. Untuk menganalisis digunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa analisis fakta cerita menemukan alur dalam novel tersebut yakni alur campuran karena pada cerita prolog pertama dihadapkan kembali pada kisah masa lalu Mapata kemudian cerita berakhir dengan penyelesaian peristiwa masa kini.Tokoh dalam novel tersebut terdiri atas tokoh utama Mapata dan empat tokoh tambahan yaitu, Ali Baba, Sumiharjo, Batari, dan Puang Matua Rusmi. Latar tempat dalam novel tersebut (a) rumah arajang, (b) ruang bawah tanah, (c) rumah sakit. Latar waktu yakni (a) tiga hari dalam ruang penyekapan (b) hari kedelapan Mapata diselamatkan polisidan latar sosial-budaya yakni kebiasaan-kebiasaan yang dilakukan Batari dan Mapata di lingkungan sosial masyarakat. Gambaran kehidupan Bissu yang terdapat dalam novel Tiba Sebelum Berangkat menceritakan tentang seorang mantan Bissu yang diposisikan pengarang sebagai penghubung dalam sebuah ingatan peristiwa demi peristiwa sejarah. Mapata berusaha mengungkapkan fakta historis kondisi keberadaan Bissu yang mengalami berbagai penolakan di tengah masyarakat Bugis, Sulawesi Selatan. Bermula pada tahun 1950-an terjadi pemberontakan dan penolakan yang dilakukan DI/TII terhadap komunitas Bissu. Kelompok DI/TII menolak kehadiran Bissu di tengah masyarakat karena menganggap kepercayaan yang dianut kaum Bissu dianggap tidak sejalan dengan ajaran Islam.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Conflict between siblings is a common phenomenon which happens in many families, that not many people care about. It is also reflected in literary works. The study discussed the jealousy, resentment, conflict, and the causes that happen between siblings in a novel entitled I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. To answer the proposed questions of the portrayal and the causes of sibling rivalry, the researcher used psychological perspective. The study aims to find out the aspects and causes of sibling rivalry in Jandy Nelson’s I’ll Give You the Sun, especially in Jude and Noah Sweetwine’s characters. A qualitative research approach was employed to fulfill the objectives of this research. The data were collected through reading and understanding the aspects and the causes of sibling rivalry that occur in the story. The findings revealed that sibling rivalry appears in the story, where the two main characters, Jude and Noah Sweetwine experience conflicts, jealous toward each other, and resent the sibling and the parents. The causes are children have a talented sibling, parents favor a child, children depend on the parents’ attention and affection, and children reject their sibling.Keywords: Psychological, Sibling Rivalry, Jandy Nelson, “I’ll Give You the Sun” ABSTRAK Konflik antara saudara adalah phenomena yang biasa terjadi dalam suatu keluarga, yang tidak banyak orang peduli akan hal tersebut. Sibling rivalry juga digambarkan di karya sastra. Penelitian ini membahas kecemburuan, kemarahan, konflik, dan penyebab-penyebabnya yang terjadi antara saudara dalam novel yang berjudul  I’ll Give You the Sun oleh Jandy Nelson. Untuk menjawab masalah-masalah dari pelukisan dan penyebab-penyebab dari sibling rivalry yang telah diusulkan, peneliti menggunakan pandangan dari sudut psikolog. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mencari tahu aspek-aspek dan penyebab-penyebab dari sibling rivalry pada novel Jandy Nelson yang berjudul I’ll Give You the Sun, terutama pada karakter Jude dan Noah Sweetwine. Penelitian kualitatif digunakan untuk memenuhi tujuan-tujan dari penelitian ini. Data-data dikumpulkan melalui membaca dan memahami aspek-aspek dan penyebab-penyebab dari sibling rivalry yang terdapat dalam cerita. Dari data-data yang ada, telah ditemukan bahwa sibling rivalry muncul di dalam cerita, dimana dua tokoh utama, Jude dan Noah Sweetwine mengalami konflik, cemburu terhadap satu sama lain, dan membenci saudaranya dan orang tuanya. Penyebab-penyebabnya adalah anak mempunyai saudara yang berbakat, orang tua yang meng-anak emas-kan salah satu anak, anak bergantung pada perhatian dan kasih sayang dari orang tua, dan anak yang menolak kehadiran saudaranya.Kata kunci: Psikolog, Sibling Rivalry, Jandy Nelson, “I’ll Give You the Sun”

Abstract

Skripsi ini berfokus pada analisis alur dan tokoh novel Aroma Karsa karya Dee Lestari. Tujuan penelitian yang sekaligus menjadi latar belakang penelitian ini yaitu, untuk mengetahui pemicu utama terjadinya rangkaian peristiwa yang menjadi cerita dalam novel tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode dekriptif yang termasuk dalam dalam jenis penelitian kepustakaan. Data berupa kata, frasa dan klausa atau kalimat yang yang terdapat dalam novel Aroma Karsa karya Dee Lestari. Analisis data terdiri dari (1) reduksi data, (2) memberi deskripsi, (3) menarik simpulan, (4) pengabsahan (verifikasi). Hasli penelitian ini berupa deskripsi struktur naratif Seymout Chatman dalam novel Aroma Karsa karya Dee Lestari. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan terjadinya peristiwa besar dalam novel Aroma Karsa karya Dee Lestari. Alur cerita yang tidak krusial (satelit) yang terdapat dalam novel Aroma Karsa cukup banyak. Tetapi, karena kesinambungan cerita maka terjadi peristiwa besar atau kernel. Tanpa satelit-satelit tersebut, alur tidak lebih menarik dan bisa membuat pembaca bingung. Dengan menemukan peristiwa pemicu utama rangkaian cerita, penelitian ini sekaligus memperlihatkan jalinan satelit dan kernel yang menjadi daya tarik novel Aroma Karsa karya Dee Lestari.

Abstract

Gothic stories have a distinctive feature of presenting suspense and horror elements in each of their elements that make the audience both scared and curious as they watch the scenes in a Gothic movie. This research examines Gothic elements in Dark Shadows (2021) movie. The purpose of this study is to identify the Gothic elements in the Dark Shadows (2012) movie. This research used structuralism approach to determine the intrinsic elements and the theory of Gothic elements from Robert Harris in identifying the Gothic elements contained in the Dark Shadows (2012) movie. The method of data analysis is descriptive qualitative research. The data used in this research were taken from the narrative, monologue, dialogue in the script, and the actions of the six main characters in the Dark Shadows (2012) movie directed by Tim Burton. The results of this study indicate that there are nine from eleven Gothic elements found in the Dark Shadows movie. All the nine Gothic elements in this movie displayed in five intrinsic elements.

Abstract

Nilai sosial merupakan nilai yang dianggap baik atau benar dalam masyarakat. Nilai sosial terdiri dari nilai kepribadian atau moral, kebendaan atau vital, biologis atau material, kepatuhan hukum, pengetahuan, agama atau religius, keindahan atau estetika. Sumber data dari penelitian ini adalah Novel Misteri Ramalan Jayabaya karya Petir Abimanyu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data, yaitu studi dokumentasi. Tidak semua karya sastra dapat memuat semua nilai sosial didalamnya. Untuk itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan nilai sosial dalam Novel Ramalan Jayabaya karya Petir Abimanyu berdasarkan teori nilai sosial yang disampaikan oleh Risdi (2019). Dalam penelitian ini akan ditentukan nilai sosial apa saja yang terkandung dalam Novel Misteri Ramalan Jayabaya. Hasil dari penelitian ini, yaitu diperoleh bahwa dalam Novel Misteri Ramalan Jayabaya memuat ketujuh nilai sosial yang disampaikan Risdi (2019). Dari ketujuh nilai tersebut nilai yang paling banyak ditemukan adalah nilai kepribadian, nilai pengetahuan, dan nilai religius.

Abstract

Self-actualization is the highest level of psychological development that motives all human behaviors towards the full realization of a person’s higher potential life. This study aims at revealing Noah Calhoun as the main character of his self-actualization in The Notebook novel. The idea of self-actualization itself will be elaborated by using Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Moreover, this study is conducted by using qualitative method. The researcher generated the data from every chapter of the book, including dialogue, words, phrases, sentences which deal with self-actualization’s character. In dealing with the researcher’s purpose, it was found that Noah Calhoun has attained his physiological needs, safety and security needs, love and belonging needs, and esteem needs sufficiently and also the characteristics of self-actualized person. It can be seen in what Noah Calhoun did on the situation described in the novel.

Abstract

PlayerUnknown’s BattleGround Mobile is a shooting and survival game that include a team with four players in a team or squads. However, PlayerUnknown’s BattleGround Mobile game event was started in Kuala Lumpur on 29th November until 1th December 2019. This event has 16 (sixteen) teams from region of South East Asia, Europe, North America, South America, Middle East North Africa, South Asia, Korea and Japan. This event had two commentators for each day on the tournaments. As the object of this study, the researcher analyzed the commentator’s utterances as the purposes of this study are to find the jargon on the PlayerUnknown’s BattleGrounds Mobile game and analyze the word-formation process the jargons that the researcher had found on the commentator’s utterances by using the theory of George Yule (1996). Moreover, this research is using the descriptive qualitative research as the research design on this study. The findings of this study show that there are 22 (twenty-two) words classified as jargon of PUBG Mobile game. And 14 (fourteen) words as the word-formation process, they are categorized as acronyms (5 words), compound (6 words), derivation (2 words), and backformation (2 words).

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada aspek representasi monstrositas perempuan dalam kumpulan cerpen Sihir Perempuan karya Intan Paramaditha. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) bagaimana fakta cerita dalam kumpulan cerpen Sihir Perempuan karya Intan Paramaditha? 2) bagaimana monstrositas perempuan dalam kumpulan cerpen Sihir Perempuan karya Intan Paramaditha? Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) mendeskripsikan fakta cerita dalam kumpulan cerpen Sihir Perempuan karya Intan Paramaditha. 2) mendeskripsikan bentuk dan makna monstrositas perempuan dalam kumpulan cerpen Sihir Perempuan karya Intan Paramaditha. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan teknik baca dan teknik catat. Analisis data menggunakan teori fakta cerita dan monstrous feminine untuk memperoleh gambaran mengenai representasi monstrositas perempuan. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu dengan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan empat bentuk representasi monstrositas perempuan dalam kumpulan cerpen Sihir Perempuan karya Intan Paramaditha. Bentuk monstros tersebut berupa vampir, penyihir perempuan, perempuan kerasukan, dan perempuan pengastrasi. Keempat bentuk monstros tersebut digambarkan secara simbolik. Bentuk-bentuk tersebut memiliki makna perlawanan perempuan terhadap ideologi patriarki.

Abstract

The Girl on The Train Film tells the story of a woman named Rachel. Rachel is the main character in the film that experienced grief in her life. Grief is the sorrow that occurs in life after someone is losing his loved one. The objective of the study is to find out the grief experienced by Rachel in The Girl on The Train Film. The researcher chooses the theory of five stages of grief by Kubler Ross to analysis the data in this study. This study is included in qualitative research because the researcher examines the main character's psychological state by using Kubler Ross theory through the dialogue from the script of the film. The source of the data on this study is The Girl on The Train film and script. From the research findings, it is found that Rachel went through the five stages of grief by Kubler Ross. The stages are denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. At first, Rachel did not accept the divorce with her ex-husband. However, in the end of the story, she decided to move on and continue her life.

Abstract

One of the goals of the Jogja Fashion Week Carnival Fashion Exhibition is to advance the fashion industry in Indonesia, as well as to reduce the number of foreign clothing imports in order to increase the selling value of traditional fabrics in Indonesia and to foster a love for Indonesian products among the general public. local. Fashion exhibitions were quite successful in presenting traditional local products throughout a seven-year period (2007–2014). This study was carried out to determine the classification of fashion trends using an art history approach, as well as to analyze the meaning and social interaction of the community using a sociological approach to art. The carnival fashion style's finale reveals numerous meanings, including fabric imagery, designer, and trademark. Physical and non-physical clothes are the two types of clothing. The style, structure, and aesthetic appearance all reveal the actual form. While the concept of manufacture, social conditions, and history can all be understood as non-physical. Several elements influence the creation of carnival costumes, including social situations involving folklore, fairy tales, and mythology. Carnival dress also emphasizes a comfortable construction, modesty, and the purpose of the garment. Designers are still involved in the "Yogja Fashion Week" event in Yogjakarata, where they make and create new forms of carnival apparel.
