Abstract

Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) are fundamental aspects in the high-risk upstream oil and gas industry. This study aims to develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that effectively represent the quality of HSSE management system implementation while also strengthening HSSE culture within organizations. Utilizing a quantitative approach through questionnaire distribution to workers in the oil and gas sector, this research analyzes the influence of various variables such as leadership, reporting systems, training, employee engagement, as well as indicator characteristics like collegial and initiative-based indicators on the effectiveness of HSSE KPIs. A conceptual model was developed and tested using descriptive and quantitative analysis. The findings reveal that management system of performance, HSSE management system and budget management does have a significant impact on the successful implementation of HSSE KPIs, which directly contributes to the strengthening of workplace HSSE culture. The study also proposes a tiered performance measurement framework that is more adaptive in supporting data-driven decision-making in HSSE risk management. The outcomes of this study are expected to provide practical contributions in developing KPIs that are not only quantitative but also reflective of safety culture values. Furthermore, it serves as a reference for designing more holistic and sustainable HSSE policies.

Abstract

Multiple-children mothers face complex challenges that can hinder their well-being. Flourishing is regarded as the main standard of well-being, measured through five PERMA elements: positive emotions, engagement, positive relationships, meaning, and accomplishment. Patience is regarded as a personality characteristic that contributes to well-being. This study aims to examine the contribution of patience to flourishing among multiple-children mothers. Flourishing is measured using The PERMA-Profiler, while patience is measured based on the 3-Factor Patience Scale consisting of Daily Hassles Patience, Life Hardship Patience, and Interpersonal Patience. The research was conducted quantitatively with 131 participants and analyzed using linear regression analysis. Results show that patience, both as a whole and in each of its factors, contributes positively and significantly to all elements of flourishing. The largest contribution was found in Daily Hassles Patience toward positive emotions (12.2%). These findings highlight the important role of patience in supporting the achievement of flourishing among multiple-children mothers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh gaya komunikasi kepemimpinan terhadap loyalitas pegawai di lingkungan pemerintah daerah. Komunikasi kepemimpinan memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk iklim organisasi, memotivasi pegawai, serta menumbuhkan komitmen terhadap pelayanan publik. Dalam konteks birokrasi Indonesia, kepemimpinan sering kali diasosiasikan dengan komunikasi yang hierarkis dan formal, sehingga dapat menghambat perkembangan loyalitas pegawai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana perbedaan gaya komunikasi—transformasional, transaksional, demokratis, dan otoriter—mempengaruhi tingkat loyalitas aparatur sipil negara. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan campuran (mixed-method), dengan memadukan data survei dari pegawai pemerintah daerah dan wawancara mendalam untuk memperoleh gambaran kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Loyalitas pegawai diukur melalui dimensi komitmen organisasi, keterikatan emosional, dan kesediaan untuk tetap mengabdi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemimpin yang menerapkan komunikasi terbuka, partisipatif, dan empatik secara signifikan meningkatkan loyalitas pegawai, sedangkan gaya komunikasi otoriter atau transaksional cenderung melemahkan komitmen jangka panjang.Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap wacana manajemen sumber daya manusia sektor publik dengan menekankan pentingnya komunikasi kepemimpinan dalam memperkuat kinerja birokrasi. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah agar pemerintah daerah mengembangkan program peningkatan kapasitas kepemimpinan yang berfokus pada keterampilan komunikasi partisipatif dan transformasional untuk membangun tenaga kerja yang lebih loyal, termotivasi, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Indonesian Navy’s Psychological Service (Dispsial) in fostering marine-loving behavior among coastal communities. The analysis is based on Soekanto’s role theory framework, which encompasses aspects of position, rights and obligations, as well as duties and responsibilities. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews involving six key informants, including Indonesian Navy officials, academics, and local community leaders. The data were analyzed using NVivo 12 Plus software to identify themes and patterns of inter-informant connections. The findings reveal that Dispsial holds a strategic position within the Indonesian Navy's organizational structure, enabling it to actively engage in psychological development programs targeting coastal communities. Dispsial possesses the authority to determine intervention sites and is responsible for providing psychological support through psychoeducation, training, and research. This role is manifested through programs that effectively raise public awareness and emotional attachment to the sea. The study contributes theoretically to the development of maritime psychology and offers practical implications for strengthening collaboration between the military, academic institutions, and communities in shaping sustainable marine-oriented behavior..

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of the Computer Assisted Test (CAT) in psychological assessments as a means to support the effectiveness of the selection process for prospective personnel in the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL). The background of this research stems from the challenges faced in selection implementation, which is still predominantly based on the conventional method (paper and pencil test), considered less efficient in terms of time, manpower, and result accuracy—especially in handling a large number of applicants distributed across various regions. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, utilizing in-depth interviews with psychologists from Dispsial, Dispsiau, and the Indonesian National Police, along with data analysis through NVivo 12 Plus software. The findings indicate that CAT offers several advantages, including time efficiency, improved objectivity and scoring accuracy, and better data security. However, the implementation of CAT within the Navy still encounters obstacles such as limited infrastructure, incompatible hardware, and a lack of technical training for system operators. Nevertheless, there remains significant potential for development, particularly through benchmarking against institutions that have successfully implemented CAT comprehensively. This study recommends enhancing infrastructure, developing a mobile and compatible CAT system, and strengthening policy and training for human resources involved. With the right strategies, CAT can serve as a strategic solution for modernizing the personnel selection system, making it more effective and accountable.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of internal factors within hospitals on the compliance of managing National Health Insurance (JKN) claims at RSUD dr. Mohammad Zyn Sampang. The factors analyzed include organizational and individual factors that affect JKN claims management. This research uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 104 employees involved in JKN claims management, selected using Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The results show that organizational factors such as regulations, education and training, monitoring and evaluation, as well as sanctions and rewards significantly influence compliance in claims management. Additionally, individual factors such as age, length of service, knowledge, discipline, motivation, and accuracy also affect compliance. Based on these findings, this study recommends improving compliance in JKN claims management by enhancing education and training, as well as implementing more effective sanctions and rewards at RSUD dr. Mohammad Zyn Sampang.

Abstract

Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (Type 2 DM) is a chronic metabolic disease characterized by hyperglycemia due to insulin resistance and impaired insulin secretion. The disease is increasing in prevalence, especially in the adult age group, so it is important to identify the risk factors that play a role in the occurrence of Type 2 DM. This study aims to analyze the relationship of risk factors such as age, sex, history of hypertension, family history of DM, and body mass index (BMI) to the incidence of Type 2 DM in patients at Royal Prima Ayahanda Hospital Medan. This study uses an analytical observational design with a cross sectional approach. Data were obtained from the medical records of patients treated with a diagnosis of Type 2 DM in the period January 2023–December 2024. The sample was determined by purposive sampling technique, involving 44 patients aged 40–65 years who met the inclusion criteria. Data analysis was carried out using the chi-square test with the help of SPSS. The results showed that the majority of patients were in the age group of 50–59 years (47.7%), with a higher proportion of women (61.4%). Age, sex, and history of hypertension were not significantly associated with the incidence of Type 2 DM (p>0.05). In contrast, family history of DM (p=0.032) and BMI (p=0.012) showed a significant association with the incidence of Type 2 DM. Patients who are overweight and obese have a higher risk of developing Type 2 DM, as do individuals with a family history of DM. These findings confirm the importance of prevention through weight control and early detection in individuals with a family history of DM. This research is expected to be a reference for health workers in public education and risk factor-based interventions.

Abstract

Korean wave or hallyu has grown very popular worldwide over the years, starting from its foods, culture, K-pop, K-movie, and K-drama. K-drama has become a source of entertainment for many people because of its actors and actresses, story line, and impeccable acting skill. Recently, both K-movie and K-drama have changed its cliche ‘poor girl and rich guy’ plot towards socio cultural issue, such as rich-poor gap issue in Oscar awarded movies Parasite, structural poverty in the hit Netflix series Squid Game, and most recent is When Life Gives You Tangerines where it tells a story about women in different generation struggling to survive. It is heavily focused on women as they face hardships and struggle to break the generational pain. This study applies Stuart Hall’s representation theory since audience’s responses are divided into relatable with the drama, relatable but to some extent, and not relatable at all. The scope of this study is in Indonesia, and employs a qualitative study by collecting data through questionnaire, textual analysis from some of the key episodes, and social media response analysis. The finding of this study is expected to contribute to the ongoing research on media studies, particularly within Asia and concentrate around women issues.

Abstract

The development of electric vehicle (EV) technology has led to an increase in the need for supporting infrastructure such as Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS). However, these service providers face various risks, both internal and external, that can hinder the achievement of business goals. This study aims to analyze and design risk management strategies in VoltWave eV-Station in order to anticipate and minimize potential losses. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach that focuses on risk management design based on the ISO 31000:2018 framework. Data was obtained through observations, interviews, and internal company documentation. The results of the study show that the main risks faced include market uncertainty, regulatory changes, operational disruptions, and human resource factors. The proposed risk mitigation strategy includes the preparation of SOPs, employee training, service innovation, product diversification, and continuous evaluation. The implications of this study provide practical guidance for startups in the electric vehicle sector in building a risk management system that is adaptive, sustainable, and supports long-term business growth.

Abstract

Pendidikan di Sekolah Staf dan Komando Angkatan Laut (Seskoal) memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk pemimpin Angkatan Laut Indonesia yang tangguh dan visioner. Sebagai lembaga strategis, Seskoal bertugas menyiapkan perwira yang mampu menghadapi kompleksitas tantangan militer, politik, dan global. Program Pasis Dikreg Seskoal, melalui kurikulum yang menekankan kepemimpinan, strategi, dan kemampuan operasional, menjadi fase penting dalam pembentukan perwira yang kompeten. Kebugaran jasmani menjadi aspek mendasar yang menunjang daya tahan fisik dan mental taruna dalam menjalankan tugas militer. Sementara itu, motivasi belajar yang kuat diperlukan agar taruna dapat mengoptimalkan potensi akademik dan keterampilan praktisnya. Penelitian ini menelaah pengaruh gabungan antara kebugaran jasmani dan motivasi belajar terhadap keberhasilan pendidikan Pasis Dikreg Seskoal. Metode yang digunakan yakni metode kuantitatif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa variabel X1 (kebugaran jasmani) dan X2 (motivasi belajar) secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap variabel Y (hasil pendidikan). Implikasi temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor fisik dan motivasional harus menjadi fokus dalam peningkatan efektivitas program pendidikan di Seskoal untuk menghasilkan pemimpin militer yang berkualitas tinggi. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan efektivitas pendidikan di Seskoal memerlukan pendekatan holistik yang mengintegrasikan penguatan fisik, mental, dan motivasional guna mencetak pemimpin Angkatan Laut yang unggul, disiplin, dan berdaya juang tinggi.
