Abstract

This study examines the process of religious character formation with the Takhasus memorization program. The study was conducted at SD Hj. Isriati Baiturrahman 2 Semarang. The research method used is field research with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Teachers and students are the subjects of this study. Data analysis uses the steps of data reduction, presentation and verification. The Takhasus memorization program includes memorizing the Qur'an (juz 'amma), authentic al-Ḥadis, and daily prayers, carried out routinely every morning before learning begins. The Takhasus memorization program is essential in forming students' religious character, such as increasing faith, piety, and noble morals. In addition, other characteristics that are also formed include discipline, responsibility, hard work, independence, and a love of reading. This habit has an impact on increasing mutual respect among fellow students. The success of this program is influenced by family support and teacher consistency in implementing habits. This program is part of the school's strategy to instill Islamic values in students early, benefiting their spiritual development and forming better character. In addition, character education also includes spiritual awareness, namely awareness of the presence of God and developing love and fear for Him. In this context, individuals must focus on growing their character and prioritizing moral and ethical values . Thus, the memorization program can be a model for other schools that want to integrate religious and character education into the learning process. This study contributes to the world of education by developing similar programs that focus on forming students' religious character.

Abstract

Many challenges in managing Islamic educational institutions are due to planning concepts not based on the Qur'an and hadith. Therefore, this study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the concept of Islamic education planning, especially on the criteria and principles underlying the planning and identify important indicators of sustainable education planning. This research is a qualitative study with a library research approach consisting of topic selection and problem formulation, data collection, data evaluation and selection, data analysis, discussion, and conclusion drawing. The results found that planning in Islamic education must fulfil the criteria of being regular, thorough, procedural, according to science, and careful (QS. As Shaff: 4, Al Hasyr: 18, Al Fathir: 11, Al Hadid: 22, Al Anfal: 60). Furthermore, the principles of planning should be efficient, effective, flexible, selective, open, co-operative and participatory, interdisciplinary, for mutual progress, human resource development, and objective, rational and systematic. This research makes an important contribution to the management of Islamic education by emphasising the importance of planning based on the Qur'an and hadith. Implementing these criteria and principles will enable educational institutions to improve management quality, strengthen competitiveness and be more responsive to global challenges. Implementing planning criteria and principles based on the Qur'an and hadith can enhance the quality of Islamic education management, strengthen institutional competitiveness, and address global challenges sustainably.

Abstract

This research focuses on teachers' challenges in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in coastal areas, especially at State Senior High School 3 Cilacap, in the context of coastal children's education. The Merdeka Curriculum is an education policy that provides flexibility in learning by optimising local potential and strengthening character. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The data is collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The data collection technique used the triangulation method to ensure the accuracy and richness of the information obtained. Data validity was guaranteed through matching research findings with the reality observed by researchers in the field. Data analysis was conducted using the thematic method, which enabled the researcher to identify key themes from the interviews and documentation. These themes include the main challenges in teachers' understanding of the curriculum, limited educational resources, and efforts to integrate local potential into learning. The results show that implementing the Merdeka Curriculum in coastal areas faces various obstacles, such as low teacher understanding and challenging geographical conditions. However, environment-based programs, such as mangrove planting, have significantly strengthened students' character and ecological awareness. This research confirms the need for close collaboration between schools, government, and communities to overcome teachers' challenges and maximise the benefits of the Merdeka Curriculum in coastal areas.

Abstract

This article aims to understand the challenges of the need for more interest in pursuing higher education among school leavers in Indonesia. The research method is qualitative with case study approach. The researcher uses document analysis to gather relevant data from primary and secondary sources like articles, news stories, and reports. Data analysis techniques using strategic management tools such as PEST, McKinsey 7S, SWOT, and TOWS. The analysis identifies key strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats within the educational landscape. The findings highlight the Ministry's strengths in strategic planning, skill development initiatives, system implementation, leadership effectiveness, adherence to shared values, and a well-established workforce. However, challenges remain, particularly in adapting to political transitions, optimising curriculum design in rural areas, and managing budgetary constraints. The TOWS matrix analysis provides strategic recommendations to address the low tertiary education enrollment rate among school leavers. Proposed strategies include innovations in human resource development, prioritisation of 3T (frontier, outermost, and disadvantaged) regions, rural outreach programs, and salary structure evaluations focused on development. The successful implementation requires strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, pilot programs, robust monitoring and evaluation, adequate budget allocation, capacity building, continuous improvement mechanisms, and public awareness campaigns. These efforts aim to create a more inclusive education system that empowers individuals across diverse backgrounds and geographical locations, ultimately enhancing Indonesia's educational landscape.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the efforts of students to overcome obstacles faced in memorizing the Qur'an, analyze teacher strategies in teaching and explore the role of supporters in improving students' memorization of the Qur'an at the Assalaam Modern Islamic Boarding School in Sukoharjo. The researcher used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data sources in this study were several ustadz and ustadzah, as well as several students from the tahfidz program. The study results showed that each student had a different way of memorizing, depending on the method that suited their abilities. The efforts of students to overcome obstacles in memorizing include having a firm and sincere intention, being diligent and patient, istiqomah, having one mushaf to strengthen memorization, tahsin Qur'an, and having a healthy body and mind. The strategies tahfidz teachers apply include tahsin, tahfidz, tasmi', and muraja'ah. A comfortable environment, high motivation, and adequate support facilities influence success in memorizing. There are various inhibiting factors: the influence of outside activities from non-tahfidz students, difficulty dividing time, and lack of concentration. This study is expected to provide valuable insights into improving the effectiveness of teaching Qur'an memorization in Islamic educational institutions. The study results can be used by Islamic boarding school managers to design more effective teaching strategies in the process of memorizing the Qur'an by considering the needs and characteristics of each student. In addition, the importance of motivational support and a conducive learning environment can be a concern for Islamic boarding school administrators to create an atmosphere that supports the teaching and learning process.
