Slowly, the Indonesian people may be used to being free from the problem of nutritional deficiencies. What happened actually entered a transition from malnutrition to excess nutrition. In fact, the problem of excess nutrition began to afflict low economic class society. That is, those with low economic levels, are not likely to suffer from chronic degenerative diseases such as the heart. Although energy and nutrient requirements are greater in adolescents than adults, there are some teenagers who eat too much more than they need to be fat. Adolescent age (10-18 years) is a period of nutritional susceptibility due to various reasons, namely first teenagers need higher nutrition because of increased physical growth. Second, there are changes in lifestyle and eating habits. Third, adolescents have special nutritional needs, for example the needs of athletes. Changing eating habits one of them occurs due to widespread globalization. Teenagers are one of the target groups who are at risk of experiencing more nutrition. More nutrition in adolescents is characterized by relatively excessive body weight when compared to the age or height of adolescent age, as a result of excessive accumulation of fat in body fat tissue. According to Law No. 36 of 2009 concerning Health explained that health efforts are any activities and / or a series of activities carried out in an integrated, integrated and sustainable manner to maintain and improve public health degrees in the form of disease prevention, health improvement, disease treatment, and health recovery by the government and / or community. Therefore it is necessary to strive to prevent obesity by means of counseling and giving obesity detection devices. The method used in this extension activity is in the form of focused discussion which begins with a lecture and then is carried out by asking questions directly. Through lectures instructors can deliver material that is important to be known and understood by students while through question and answer can complement unclear material and to help provide input on the problems faced by students about obesity. The provision of obesity detection devices is expected to help students to pay more attention to their health problems.

One effort to improve children's health and nutrition is to provide the best food for ages under two years (Baduta). If babies and children aged 6-24 months do not get enough nutrition from MP-ASI, it will cause disruption of growth and malnutrition. Medan Sunggal Health Center is one of the health centers in the fostered village of F.Kep USU. Based on the results of the toddler nutrition study conducted previously, there were still some nutritional problems, especially in the age group of Baduta. The main cause is the limited knowledge of mothers about Baduta nutrition and the skills of mothers in preparing food to meet nutritional needs with locally available food. Posyandu cadres who have been actively involved are still weak in providing breastfeeding and MP-ASI education. Even though Posyandu cadres are very potential their role as agents of change. Community service activities counseling for local food-based WHO MP-ASI for Posyandu cadres and baduta’ mothers was held on August 24, 2018, with the number of counseling participants thirty-five people. The end result is an increase in participants' knowledge and skills to shape good nutritional behavior in the family.

Recognition of pregnancy danger plays an important role in preventing and reducing maternal mortality. Pregnant women can identify the danger signs of pregnancy. Therefore, the danger signs during pregnancy need to be known by pregnant women, especially those that threaten the health of the mother and the fetus who are pregnant. The minimum needs to be known by pregnant women in the community to recognize pregnancy danger signs, namely bleeding out of birth canal, excessive nausea, preeclampsia and eclampsia , premature rupture of membranes, and fetal movements that are not felt. Medan Sunggal Health Center is one of the village areas assisted by the USU Nursing Faculty. Based on the results of previous studies of pregnant women, it was found that there were still many pregnant women who did not know about the signs and dangers during pregnancy. The main cause is the limited knowledge of mothers about the signs and dangers of pregnancy and the mother's skills to overcome the lack of information about the signs and dangers of pregnancy. Posyandu cadres who have played an active role have been felt to be weak in providing education about information on signs and harms of pregnancy. Posyandu cadres have the potential for their role as agents of change. Therefore to overcome the problem of lack of information about the signs and dangers of pregnancy, it is necessary to improve the method of delivering information on signs and dangers of pregnancy, by involving several parties who can later collaborate in dealing with information problems for pregnant women, involving KIA officers from Sunggal Health Center, cadres , and invite pregnant women.

Financial literacy is an important part of financial sector consumer protection. With financial literacy, the community will be able to choose financial products and services that are appropriate to their needs and have the ability to do better financial planning. Data shows that housewives have low financial literacy and, hence, are vulnerable to fraud and scams. Fraud and suspicious fundraising activities are still prevalent in many cities all over Indonesia, including Medan. Training of financial literacy and the legal protection in investment for housewives were designed and implemented to help overcome this issue. The training took place in Medan Selayang and Medan Maimun Districts and aimed to improve housewives’ financial literacy, including on how to manage household money properly and safely so as not to get trapped in bad investment, as well as to educate them about the legal measures that can be taken if they become victims of fraud. The training was conducted using lecture method followed by discussion and consultation. The participants were provided pocket books that were designed to be easily read and understood. Questionnaires were also prepared to measure the knowledge of the participants before and after training. The result of the test shows that the participants’ financial literacy improved after the training.

The "Melati" Joint Business Group is a group of women's skills including the "Meronce" craftsmanship whose members consist of women in Dolok Merawan Village, Dolok Merawan District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra Province. The results of the 2018 community service program for this business group have shown quite encouraging results, in which this joint business group has been able to increase its organizational capacity and be able to improve its "meronce" handicraft skills by producing products of economic value. However, the "Melati" Joint Business Group is experiencing difficulties in marketing its handicraft products, because so far the method of selling products is still conventional, and they have not been able to market their products online. This community service activity aims to train the "Melati" Joint Business Group in relation to the online marketing strategy of the "Meronce" handicraft products. To achieve these objectives, the service methods used are lecture and discussion techniques, training on the promotion of handicraft products online by providing promotional tools, namely smartphones and equipment, and strengthening group organizations with on-line marketing strategy training. The results of the service activities show that KUBE Melati members already have the ability to market their craft products online such as Facebook and WhatsApp, and there are even consumers who order online. This is enough to motivate them so that they do not feel left behind by the progress of Information Technology in marketing their handicrafts. But they still hope that the service team can provide assistance for them in accordance with the progress of the Information Technology.

Rengginang is thick crackers made from pulut (sticky rice) which are dried in the sun and then fried in hot oil. Economically, Rengginang business is a very profitable business because it is a snack that can be consumed daily by the community. One way to increase the nutritional content of Rengginang pulut is by adding red guava. Laboratory results show that red guava contains Fe, Vitamin C and Zn. Annysa UKM fostered by the Syariah Cooperative Community of Al-Ikhlas produces guava fruit syrup, starfruit syrup, red guava dodol and starfruit dodol. So far, the red guava pulp has not been utilized by Annysa UKM. Then the service team gave a new innovation in food diversification by utilizing red guava pulp into a mixture making Rengginang. The method of approach is carried out with socialization, discussion, training, demonstration and assistance. The dedication team tested 3 recipes of guava red with a composition of 5 gr, 7.5 gr and 10 gr. After the recipe was tested, it was applied to Annysa UKM on August 1, 2019. As a result, Annysa UKM members were skilled in processing glutinous rice and red guava. The dedication team also facilitated the facilities and infrastructure in the form of spiner and cylinders needed for the development of the manufacturing of Rengginang pujiseri in the Annysa UKM group.
