Abstract

Efficiency in logistics distribution is an important aspect in improving the competitiveness of the company. UD. Gudang Telur is a company engaged in the distribution of chicken eggs located in Makassar City, facing obstacles in the form of irregular distribution routes and non-optimal utilization of transport capacity. Current distribution is carried out without paying attention to the distance factor and the location of the destination in a structured manner, so that the average transportation cost reaches Rp. 8,000,000. per month. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the distribution path of chicken eggs so that an optimal distribution route is obtained using the Saving Matrix method, this method allows combining several consumers in one route to minimize mileage and transportation costs. Case studies were conducted on six retailers with various travel distances and transportation capacity requirements. Based on the analysis results, the savings achieved reached 48.28% for mileage, from 163 km to 84.3 km, and 58.62% for transportation costs, from Rp 1,982,855 to Rp 820,428. These results show that the Saving Matrix method is effective in designing optimal distribution routes by considering transport capacity and distance traveled, as well as reducing significant operational costs.

Abstract

The rapid development of the industry requires companies to always maintain the quality of each production, production quality control is an important aspect in the production process. PT XYZ is a company engaged in manufacturing that focuses on the production of wood pellets. The problems faced by the company at this time are the factors that cause defects in wood powder products resulting from the wood pellet production process, so it is necessary to improve the quality of wood powder products. Types of defects that may occur include non-uniform particle size defects, high moisture content defects, dirt or foreign object defects. This study was conducted with the aim of identifying potential solutions to reduce defects in wood powder products produced from the wood pellet production process using the seven tools method used to identify the causes of defects in the production process and the failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) method used to make improvement efforts. From the results of the seven tools data processing, the highest defect in wood powder is 40% for non-uniform particle size, then the RPN value will be calculated to determine urgent improvement proposals. In the results of the RPN calculation, the highest value was obtained at 240 with a high moisture content defect with proposed improvements to conduct training on drying techniques and the use of MC tools.

Abstract

PT. Uwe Molino Luwuk is a company engaged in the production of glass bottled drinking water. However, the product often experiences defects such as inappropriate closures, packaging damage that causes leaks, and lack of precision in the cup sealer. This condition causes the product not to meet consumer expectations for quality. This research aims to reduce the level of defects in each production sub-process by determining the initial performance conditions (baseline) and targets to be achieved. Through the application of Six Sigma, it is hoped that it will be able to reduce process variability, so that product quality can be more consistent with decreasing defect rates. The research results show that the DPMO (Defects Per Million Opportunities) value which varies from 33.39 to 1,885.87 shows that there are fluctuations in production quality and based on the Sigma value, most of the production processes are at level 4 to 5 Sigma, which means overall production quality, overall quite good, achieving Sigma 5.48 defect level

Abstract

The high cost of moving goods in the P3WH1 warehouse of PT Astra Honda Motor is caused by a less than optimal warehouse layout. A layout that does not have good rules will certainly make it difficult for operators to organise items to be stored or retrieved. Because it will require inefficient time and distance travelled in retrieving and storing goods. This study aims to reduce the cost of moving goods through layout improvements with the dedicated Storage method. The methods used include analysing the current warehouse layout, redesigning the layout using the dedicated storage method, and simulating the cost of moving goods before and after improvement. The results showed that the new layout can reduce the cost of moving goods and improve the operational efficiency of the warehouse. Comparison of the results of the displacement distance of the layout before and after improvement is 3,156 m / month. While the comparison of the results of the calculation of material handling costs before and after the improvement is Rp3,828,274.56/year. The main conclusion of this research is that the application of the dedicated storage method is effective in minimising the cost of moving goods. The contribution of this research is to provide practical guidance for companies in designing warehouse layouts that are more efficient and reduce operational costs.

Abstract

Performance and safety behavior are crucial in a company such as PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Parepare. Therefore, research is needed to determine the hygiene factors influencing worker performance and safety behavior in achieving company goals without work accidents. The data collection technique used in this research involves primary data in the form of a questionnaire. Questionnaires were distributed to respondents, and then processed using the help of Smart PLS 4.0. The analytical tool used is Partial Least Square (PLS), a multivariate statistical technique that compares several dependent variables. The research results show that factors that significantly influence worker performance are working conditions, supervision, and interpersonal relationships. Meanwhile, factors that do not have a significant influence on worker performance are salary, company policy, and administration and supervision. Working conditions and supervision have a significant effect on worker safety behavior. Factors that do not have a significant influence on worker safety behavior are company policies and administration, salary, and interpersonal relationships.

Abstract

The Indonesian government in the National Energy General Plan (RUEN) targets the number of electric vehicles to be 2,200 four-wheeled vehicles and 2.1 million two-wheeled vehicles which must be achieved at least by 2050. Currently, the number of motorized vehicles that are widely used is motorbikes, because the price is relatively cheap, can penetrate traffic jams and use less fuel when compared to other motorized vehicles. Electric motorbikes are an alternative that can reduce the impact on the environment and support government programs in achieving the RUEN target. This study aims to determine the interest of teenagers in using electric motorbikes. By conducting a survey of 144 teenagers based on 4 aspects, namely Environmentally friendly, price, infrastructure availability and operational costs. After the survey was collected, a statistical test of Validity, Reliability and normality was carried out to determine the level of accuracy of the survey data and the results were Valid, Reliable Questionnaires but the data was not normally distributed. Then by using one of the tools in Statistical Process Control, namely the Pareto Diagram which has a rule of 80: 20, the results showed that Respondents realized that electric motorbikes were more environmentally friendly than motorbikes with gasoline fuel. However, in terms of price, respondents have not yet influenced them in buying electric motorbikes. While in terms of infrastructure availability, respondents also considered it inadequate. Meanwhile, in terms of operational costs, respondents also did not influence their interest in buying.

Abstract

Currently, the waste section of Manggala District, Makassar City, still encounters many risks that commonly occur in the waste management supply chain from the waste source to the Temporary Disposal Site (TPS) and then to the Final Disposal Site (TPA). This causes the volume of waste to increase every day due to the lack of segregation of waste from waste sources so that waste in the TPS is scattered due to the fact that the trash cans are no longer able to accommodate it and finally the TPA is over capacity without any effective handling to reduce the volume of waste. Therefore it is necessary to handle the risks that occur. This study aims to provide recommendations for sustainable mitigation strategies to reduce the impact of risks on waste management using the Delphi method to identify potential risks. Using the House of Risk (HOR) in the risk analysis and evaluation stages to determine mitigation strategies. Research data collection was carried out by observation, interviews, questionnaires, brainstorming, and focus group discussions (FGD). Based on the research results it is known that there are 18 risk events and 65 identified risk agents. Furthermore, a mitigation strategy for risk agents is carried out using 16 preventive actions that have been designed using HOR phase II, for further research it is hoped that it will be able to develop waste management in other sub-districts in Makassar City.

Abstract

Pejaten Village in Kramatwatu Sub-district faces a major challenge in household waste management with an ever-increasing volume of waste that could reach 300.73 tons per month by 2024. This increase is influenced by rapid population growth and low public awareness of the negative impacts of littering. The habit of disposing of waste in open areas and the lack of understanding about the importance of good waste management exacerbate the condition. This study aims to identify the main factors that cause high waste generation using the Causal Loop Diagram (CLD) approach. This approach allows mapping the cause-and-effect relationships of various variables that contribute to the problem, including unsustainable consumption patterns, limited waste management facilities, and low public awareness of environmental hygiene. The results show a complex interrelationship between environmental quality, availability of transport fleets, and community awareness. This research confirms the need for more structured and sustainable intervention measures in waste management, such as community education on the importance of sorting waste, improving waste management facilities, and optimizing the waste transportation system. It is hoped that these efforts can produce effective solutions to reduce the volume of waste, improve the quality of the environment in Pejaten Village, and build collective awareness of shared responsibility in maintaining environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

CV Fajar Samudra is a company that manages rice in Sumbawa. The rice processing process per day can produce + 3 thousand tons of harvested dry grain (GKP) and also produce 50 tons of milled dry grain (GKG) which can later produce around 30 tons of rice. Based on the results of the interview, the problem with the rice grinding machine occurred because the v-belt of the machine broke/loose so that the machine stopped and did not operate for +4 hours. This research uses OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) calculations, namely measuring the level of effectiveness of machine use by calculating machine availability, performance and quality of the products produced. OEE calculates availability, performance and quality. The calculation results from this research show that the availability value is 94.34%, performance 52.44% and quality 99.62%. The OEE value obtained was 47.79% (low). So it can be seen that the highest Losses of CV Fajar Samudra on the rice milling unit machine is the Reduce speed Losses of 39.33% in October 2023.

Abstract

PT XYZ. Is an industrial company that produces galvalume toilet doors. August 2024. Successfully produced 11,147 non-coloring galvalume doors and 1,645 existing defective products. These problems are caused by a variety of factors including machines, people, and materials. To overcome this problem, the Six Sigma method was integrated with the DMAIC approach. The aim of this approach is to identify the causes of defects and provide solutions and preventive measures to reduce the occurrence of defective products. Types with broken rivets 49.06%, fast frame coming off 19.88%, loose 11.00%, loose 5.11%, black scratches 2.86%, rivets not up to 2.55%, brand, rust & scratches 2.43%, brands & scratches 1.52%, length 1.46%, dents & loose 1.22%, stains & scratches 0.97%, tilted 0.36%, black stains 0.30%, poor installation 0.30%, loose & loose connections 0.30%, scratches & dents 0.18%, rusted 0.12%, rust & scratches 0.12%, dents 0.12%, loose connections 0.06%, reversed 0.06%. Broken rivets are the most common cause of product defects. PT. XYZ. Measured using defects per million occurrences (DPMO) and shows that the quality of the door product is at a sigma level of 6.030 and a DPMO value of 4.676. Factors include galvalume and rivet nails that do not meet production standards, as well as worker negligence during the production process. Based on these findings, several suggestions were put forward, including the need for a control list to check good and bad raw materials.
