Abstract

This research explores the evolution of money in Islamic civilization, from the dinar and dirham based on precious metals to the innovation of paper currency in the colonial era, and finally to the modern era with the advent of electronic money. Money, in the perspective of Islamic economics, is not only a medium of exchange, but also an instrument for maintaining economic justice and social balance. This study uses the literature method to trace the changes in the Islamic monetary system from the perspective of history and sharia law. The results of the study show that electronic money provides convenience and efficiency, but its legality aspects need to be carefully reviewed in the context of sharia. In addition, digital money brings new challenges related to volatility and speculation, which has led to debate among scholars regarding its validity in transactions in accordance with Islamic law. In an effort to seek clarity, a deeper study is needed to assess the potential and risks of digital money in the Islamic economic system.

This study analyzes the role of professional organizations, particularly the Subject Teacher Association (MGMP), in supporting career development and professional ethics among teachers at SMPN 4 Mataram. Faced with professional and educational demands, organizations like MGMP are vital for helping teachers improve their competencies through training, mentorship, and collaborative efforts. The findings indicate that MGMP plays a strategic role in enhancing teaching skills, reinforcing professional ethics, and providing solutions to instructional challenges. However, MGMP also faces challenges, such as limited resources and varied member participation. As part of development strategy, strengthening managerial support and increasing synergy between the school and MGMP are essential steps to maximize MGMP’s impact in supporting educators.

Abstract

The more advanced and the longer the gap between the lifetime of the Prophet Muhammad and the subsequent eras of governance, the more changes occurred in social, political, and economic structures. Although the principles taught remain guiding standards, the evolving challenges of time require adjustments in applying these values. This illustrates how the implementation of Islamic teachings must remain relevant to different contexts, both in governance and social life. The Abbasid dynasty, extending into the modern era, brought significant changes, especially in economics. During the Abbasid period, the economy reached its golden age. The policies and measures taken during the Abbasid era had a profound impact on today's economy. The author examines how the Abbasid administration improved various economic sectors, such as irrigation, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, trade, and funding for scientific research. The author sees the potential of modern economies by applying the Abbasid system, hoping for a prosperous economy Similar to that of the Abbasid era. This research was conducted using a qualitative literature review methodology, drawing from scholarly works and relevant magazines. The research findings reveal that there are similar values and policies that have been carried over into the present day, which were inspired by the Abbasid period.

Abstract

Increasingly, industry observers are saying that “renting clothes is a great way to implement sustainable fashioncampaigns” which reflects the views held towards rental platforms (Amasawa et al., 2023). Renting clothes is a long-term life cycle that can be utilized in minimizing clothing waste even if it is only a small-scale clothing rental. This research aims to explore the implementation of ijarah muqayyadah contract in clothing rental as a solution for sustainable fashion from an Islamic economic perspective. The research method used is qualitative, with an observation approach, literature study, and short interviews. The case study was conducted at Abra Gallery, a clothing rental business in Balikpapan. The results show that the ijarah contract in clothing rental is able to support the maqashid sharia principle which emphasizes the balance between fulfilling human needs and preserving the environment. Clothing rental reduces the negative impact of the fashion industry on the environment by reducing the production of new clothes and extending the life cycle of clothes. These findings support the importance of implementing ijarah contracts in supporting sustainable fashion as part of the green economy movement that is in line with Islamic economic principles.

Abstract

This study analyzes Musnad Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi, the oldest compilation of hadith compiled by Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi (133–204 AH/750–819 AD) with the musnad method, which is the grouping of hadiths based on the companions of the prophets. The purpose of this study is to explore the contribution of this book to the development of hadith science, analyze the structure of sanad and its narration, and assess its relevance in the study of modern hadith. The method used is a literature study with a historical-critical approach, including verification of sanad, evaluation of the validity of hadiths, and comparison with other hadith compilations. Musnad al-Tayalisi is recognized by classical scholars such as Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal as an important reference. The book is also appreciated in modern studies by scholars such as Jonathan Brown and Fuat Sezgin as an important transition from oral tradition to written documentation. This study shows the relevance of Musnad Abu Dawud al-Tayalisi in the study of contemporary hadith and the need for critical analysis to maintain scientific validity.
