Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought significant changes to learning systems. Thus, it is highly important to evaluate the implementation of online learning. This study aimed to investigate students’ satisfaction with online learning through End-User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) proposed by Doll. There were five EUCS indicators utilized to determine the level of satisfaction, namely: content, accuracy, format, ease of use, and punctuality. EUCS instruments were adopted, modified, and tested for the validity of 12 items. This study involved 108 respondents consisting of students from four faculties at IAIN Langsa. Data were collected by using a google form questionnaire. The findings showed that the score for the indicator of the content of online learning was 67% (satisfied) while the score for the indicator of the accuracy of online learning was 54, 54% (quite satisfied). Moreover, the score of the indicator of the form of online learning was 56, 48% (quite satisfied), and the score of the indicator of the convenience of the access of online learning was 78, 79% (satisfied). At last, the score of the indicator of punctuality of online learning was 64, 26% (satisfied). This data showed that the highest score of students’ satisfaction was the convenience of the access of online learning while the lowest score of students’ satisfaction was the indicator of accuracy.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the concept of eco-connectivity appeared in online-based distance learning (PJJ) for mentally disabled children. Furthermore, this study aimed to provide an understand about the need for developing learning models towards the current conventional learning models. Qualitative research with a case study approach was utilized in this study to examine the phenomenon of eco-connectivity of art learning for mentally disabled children at SLB Gedangan Sidoarjo, East Java. The research subjects were IB and AM, the mentally disabled children C at SLB Gedangan Sidoarjo, East Java. This research was conducted from September 2020 to January 2021. The data obtained were analyzed based on John Dewey’ point of view about art education and its existence, Cathy Malchiodi about education for children with special needs, and the learning connectivity by George Siemens. The results showed that eco-connectivity maximized teachers' role in adjusting circumstances by designing learning according to essential competencies and making tutorials assisting children's learning with the help of children's learning environments. Ecoconnectivity was also seen in the assessment process by reviewing children's work and interviews with parents. This provided a comprehensive assessment, which further strengthened teachers, parents, and the environment to support mentally disabled children's competence through art learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the need for developing teaching materials based on confident character education, to describe the product design of teaching materials development, and to explain the acceptability of developing teaching materials based on confident character education in order to improve studennts’ reading skills at grade IV. This study was conducted at three elementary schools in Kecamatan Kaliwungu Kudus in November 2020. Teaching materials referred to a set of learning materials/substances (teaching materials) arranged systematically, presenting a complete figure of the competencies that students should master in learning activities. According to Lauster in Ghufron (2011: 36), the aspects contained in self-confidence included: self-belief, optimism, positive attitude, objective, responsible, and rational. Research and development (R & D) method was utilized to develop or validate the products used in education and learning. This teaching material was effective in improving students' reading aloud skills. This was evidenced from the results of the increase in the n-gain index in the experimental class which was higher than the control class. The experimental class experienced an increase in gain of 0.57 in the medium category and the control class by 0.25 in the low category

Abstract

This research was motivated by the condition that only few activities could be done during this online and long distance learning. As a result, many teachers were unable to make ICT-based learning media, especially power points. It was possible to conduct the training for making power point offline and online. For this reason, in-house training was believed to be helpful for teachers to improve their skills in making power points. This research was a classroom action research conducted at SDN 021 Pendekar Bahan from August to September 2020. The instruments were observation and interview sheets. The results of the study showed that the teachers’ skills in making power points increased. The data showed that the average score in cycle I was 60.85, and it increased to 75.42 in cycle II with good criteria. Based on the research results, it could be concluded that in-house training improved the teachers’ skills in making power point learning media.
