Abstract

This study aims to implement the values of local wisdom of the Ngata Toro community in developing ecological literacy among students at SMAN 5 Sigi. The study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design, namely an untreated control group design with dependent pretest and posttest samples. The research population consisted of Class XI IPS 1 with 30 students as the experimental group and Class XI IPS 2 with 28 students as the control group. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 items. The results of hypothesis testing (t-test) using IBM SPSS version 20 indicated that the mean posttest score of the experimental group was 79.17, while that of the control group was 60.18. The obtained Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.001, which is lower than 0.05 (Sig. 0.001 < 0.05), indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. It can be concluded that the implementation of the local wisdom values of the Ngata Toro community has a significant effect on improving ecological literacy among students at SMAN 5 Sigi.

Abstract

The guided inquiry (GI) model is one of the scientific learning models that is student centered and designed to stimulate spatial thinking skills through discovery activities under the guidance and direction of the teacher. In addition to the learning model, geoliteracy is another factor that influences students spatial thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the GI model on spatial thinking skills and to examine the effect of the GI learning model on spatial thinking skills in terms of students geoliteracy. The research method is a quasi experimental design with a post test only design. The population of this study consists of eleventh grade students at SMAN 5 Malang and SMAN 6 Malang, with purposive sampling used to determine the control and experimental classes at each school. Data were collected using a test instrument to obtain spatial thinking ability scores and geoliteracy scores. Data analysis was carried out using independent sample t tests and two way anova. The results show that the GI model can affect the spatial thinking skills possessed by students, even though both experimental classes received the GI model treatment. Further results indicate that the GI model can affect spatial thinking skills in terms of students geoliteracy. However, there is a significant difference in spatial thinking skills based on geoliteracy between students at SMAN 6 Malang and students at SMAN 5 Malang, even though both experimental classes received the GI model treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need for developing audiovisual learning media using Canva in science learning on climate change for fourth-grade elementary school students. The study used a quantitative descriptive approach with a needs analysis questionnaire as the data collection technique. The research subjects consisted of 35 fourth-grade students and 2 fourth-grade teachers at Muara Medak Elementary School. The research instrument was a questionnaire containing 10 statements with a rating scale from very high to very low. Data were analyzed using a percentage technique based on pedagogical, technical, cognitive, and aesthetic aspects. The results showed that the need for audiovisual media development was in the high to very high category, with a percentage of 84.57% for the pedagogical aspect, 81.85% for the technical aspect, 76.28% for the cognitive aspect, and 85.42% for the aesthetic aspect. These findings indicate that students and teachers need learning media that are interesting, easily accessible, and able to help understand abstract material. Based on these results, the development of audiovisual media using Canva is considered relevant as a learning solution to increase learning interest and support the effectiveness of science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strengthening of social literacy among PGSD students through issue-based learning in the Elementary Social Studies Basic Concepts course. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through classroom observations, interviews with lecturers and students, and documentation of learning activities and student work. The findings reveal that, in the initial stage, students’ social literacy was predominantly descriptive, characterized by a superficial understanding of social issues and a limited ability to connect social studies concepts with contemporary social phenomena. The implementation of issue-based learning through stages of issue introduction, exploration and analysis using social studies concepts, critical discussion and social reflection, and synthesis of findings was shown to effectively enhance students’ social literacy. Students demonstrated improvements in analytical thinking toward social issues, the integration of social studies concepts with social realities, and the development of critical, reflective, and social empathy attitudes. The role of lecturers as facilitators and active student participation emerged as key factors in the success of the learning process. Nevertheless, the study also identified challenges related to the complexity of social issues, limitations in students’ analytical literacy, time constraints in lectures, and variations in students’ critical thinking abilities. These findings imply that issue-based social studies learning is a relevant pedagogical strategy for strengthening social literacy and for preparing prospective elementary school teachers with social awareness and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

The Almukarramah Palace of the Sintang Sultanate is a Cultural Heritage site that must be preserved. Periodic research is one of the efforts to support its preservation. This study aims to reconstruct the historical narrative based on newly discovered data and to describe the current condition of the palace building. The local community is expected to be encouraged to utilize the palace, particularly institutions engaged in history, education, and tourism. This research uses a qualitative method with historical and architectural approaches. The historical approach is used to reconstruct historical information, including heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The architectural approach is applied to describe the physical form of the object. Primary and secondary data were collected through observation, interviews, and literature studies. The results show that the palace has stood in the Kampung Raja area since Sintang was a Hindu kingdom. However, the structure currently standing was built when Sintang became an Islamic kingdom, specifically during the reign of Panembahan Raden Abdul Bahri Danu Perdana Al-Mukarram Kesuma Negara IV. The construction of the Sintang Sultanate Palace was full of dynamics, ranging from disputes between the Panembahan and the Dutch colonial government to the sinking of a ship carrying construction materials. Observations also revealed many historical objects around the palace. One of the new contributions of this research is the documentation of the changes in the building’s function and its renovation history after Sintang's integration into Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the need for developing interactive multimedia based on local wisdom in the teaching of Senjang within Cultural Arts education at the elementary school level. The novelty of this study lies in its specific focus on Senjang as a form of local oral literature that has received limited attention in the development of elementary school learning media, positioning it as both cultural heritage and an instructional resource. The research was motivated by students’ low understanding of local cultural arts content, declining interest in Senjang, and the absence of adequate and engaging instructional media. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, with data collected through questionnaires administered to 32 participants consisting of 30 students and 2 teachers. The results indicate a strong demand for interactive multimedia learning media, with students reporting increased interest, understanding, and engagement, while teachers found such media helpful in delivering the material. The needs analysis showed that students’ needs reached 96.8 percent, teachers’ needs 98.33 percent, and media needs 93.33 percent, all categorized as highly needed. These findings emphasize the importance of developing interactive, culturally rooted learning media to support the preservation of Senjang as local oral literature and to improve the quality of cultural arts education in elementary schools

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas dampak pembangunan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Uap (PLTU) Palu 3 terhadap kehidupan sosial dan ekonomi masyarakat di Desa Lero Tatari, Kecamatan Sindue, Kabupaten Donggala. PLTU ini merupakan proyek strategis nasional yang bertujuan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat dan pertumbuhan ekonomi daerah. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara sosial, keberadaan PLTU membawa perubahan pada pola interaksi sosial, struktur masyarakat, serta masuknya budaya baru akibat pekerja dari luar daerah. Selain itu, terdapat peningkatan fasilitas pendidikan dan infrastruktur desa. Namun, muncul juga kekhawatiran masyarakat terhadap dampak lingkungan seperti pencemaran udara yang dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan.

Abstract

This research examines the social impact experienced by the Madurese community during the communal conflict in Sambas in 1999, focusing on the origins of the conflict, the evacuation process, relocation, dan the life of the Madurese community post-displacement. This research aims to examine the widespread impact of a communal conflict so that it can affect the conditions of the ethnic groups involved in it. This research uses the historical writing method with stages of topic selection, source collection, source critisim, interpretation, dan historiography. The results of this study indicate that the stigmatization of an ethnic group can ignite prolonged conflicts and attacks. Although this communal conflict highlights the violence between the Malay and Madurese ethcnic groups. However, there is intervention from the Dayak ethnic group who are on the side of the Malay ethnic groups. The efforts taken by the government and security forces have not been sufficient to stop the conflict from spreading to areas with low conflict intensity, such as the city of Sambas. As a result, there was a wave exodus of the Madurese ethnic group to the Pontianak area as a temporary refuge. This conflict also involved security forces who were spesifically brought in from oter regions due to the difficult conditions to handle. The conflict that occurred also forced the property and land belonging to the Madurese ethnic group to be sold at very low prices. The Madurese ethnic group also faced with various choices and start a new life by trying different jobs.

Abstract

This study aims to understand how religious moderation is actualized in the social life of multiethnic communities in Surabaya City, the role of government and religious leaders in maintaining harmony between religious communities, and the influence of digitalization and social media on people's religious perspectives. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to explore people's experiences and meanings of religious moderation practices in everyday life. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, with informants selected purposively and developed through snowball sampling. Data analysis was carried out interactively using the Miles-Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results show that religious moderation in Surabaya's multiethnic community grows contextually and practically, but requires strengthening digital literacy and ongoing collaboration between the government, religious leaders, and the community to remain relevant and adaptive amidst social and digital dynamics

Abstract

Penelitian ditujukan guna mengkaji pengaruh persepsi biaya pendidikan serta orientasi masa depan terhadap minat siswa dalam melanjutkan pendidikan ke tingkat perguruan tinggi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI dan XII pada SMA PGRI Pekanbaru yang sedang berada pada tahap penting dalam merencanakan masa depan akademik mereka. Penelitian memanfaatkan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Penghimpunan data dilakukan dengan kuesioner terstruktur dan dianalisis memanfaatkan regresi linear berganda guna memperoleh pengaruh tiap-tiap variabel secara parsial dan simultan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwasanya sebagian besar siswa mempunyai minat tinggi guna melanjutkan pendidikan. Persepsi terhadap biaya pendidikan memiliki pengaruh sebesar 0,348  terhadap minat siswa, menunjukkan bahwa kekhawatiran terhadap biaya tidak sepenuhnya menjadi penghalang ketika siswa memiliki informasi yang cukup mengenai dukungan keuangan. Orientasi masa depan juga berpengaruh signifikan depan sebesar 0,409 terhadap minat, yang berarti bahwa perencanaan dan tujuan pribadi yang jelas dapat memotivasi siswa untuk melanjutkan studi. Secara simultan, kedua variabel tersebut terbukti memiliki pengaruh sebesar 0,382 pada minat siswa guna melanjutkan pendidikan tingkat perguruan tinggi. Hasil tersebut membuktikan pentingnya penyebaran informasi tentang bantuan pendidikan dan beasiswa, serta perlunya bimbingan karier agar siswa dapat merencanakan masa depan mereka secara lebih terarah.
