Abstract

Developing communication skills in elementary school students is a very important need. The level of mastery of children's communication skills not only affects intellectual development through learning effectiveness, but also affects the social process and overall personal development of students. Initial studies show that 77% of students have not shown communication skills, while 23% of students show quite good progress with teacher direction and guidance. In addition, the teaching materials used, namely the science textbook, have not been effective in developing students' communication skills. So that the communication skills of 3rd grade students have not been formed completely. One of the school's efforts to improve communication skills is the use of models, methods, and media according to student needs and meet the demands of learning in the society 5.0 era in elementary schools. The development of ethnopedagogy-based social studies teaching materials on Madurese family and community traditions to train the communication skills of 3rd grade elementary school students can be an alternative solution to the problem. By using the research and development method of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE), the results of improving communication skills were quite satisfactory. The results of the validation of language experts obtained a percentage of 80% and validation of teaching material experts by 76%, so it can be concluded that the teaching materials that have been developed are quite valid and can be used but with improvements. Meanwhile, the results of the trial obtained an assessment percentage of 84% or valid for use according to expert practitioners, while the percentage of student assessments was 87.4% or can be said to be very interesting. Based on the results of observations of learning with ethnopedagogy-based social studies teaching materials that have been developed, there is an increase in students' communication skills, especially oral communication, through various activities and works produced such as mini podcasts and mini vlogs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine how the independence of seventh-grade students at Budisatrya Private Junior High Schoolis affected by the use of LKPD student assignment portfolios and Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) learning methodologies. This kind of research is quantitative, and inferential research is quantitative research. SMP Swasta Budisatrya will host this study. The population consisted of 61 students drawn from two classes, VII-1 and VII-2. The sample consisted of all 61 students. Multiple linear regression analysis was the data analysis method employed in this study. These are the study's findings. Since the sig value is 0.00 <0.05, the study's hypothesis—that contextual teaching and learning have an impact on students' learning independence in class VII at SMP Swasta Budisatrya—is accepted. Given that the sig value of 0.000 <0.05, the hypothesis that there is an impact of the student assignment portfolio LKPD on the learning independence of the SmpSwasta Budisatrya class is accepted in this study. According to the study, LKPD Portfolio and CTL both significantly impact students' learning independence in class VII at SMP Swasta Budisatrya since the significance level of 0.000 <0.05 and the value of f count> f table (33.805> 3.15).

Abstract

Artikel ini merupakan hasil kajian dari berbagai literatur, dengan tujuan mengkonstruk model pembelajaran resolusi konflik untuk mengatasi bullying dalam pembelajaran IPS di SD. Hasil kajian ini dapat dikemukakan bahwa model resolusi konflik merupakan suatu model pembelajaran yang bisa digunakan sesuai kebutuhan melalui penanganan konflik yang konstruktif, seperti perilaku bullying di SD. Proses penerapan model resolusi konflik ini adalah melalui pengajuan masalah dalam bentuk simulasi dan kesempatan untuk belajar sambil bermain, siswa akan memiliki kesempatan belajar yang luas dan mendalam di bawah arahan dan fasilitas guru. Model pembelajaran resolusi konflik lebih melibatkan siswa secara aktif dalam belajar IPS dan siswa menjadi tahu bagaimana mencari solusi atas masalah yang sedang dihadapi ketika berinteraksi dengan teman-teman yang lain. Dalam hal ini siswa tahu bagaimana menyelesaikan masalah bullying yang dihadapinya. Selain itu, dalam pelaksanaan model pembelajaran resolusi konflik, guru harus menanamkan dalam diri siswa bahwa tidak boleh mengejek teman, tidak boleh mengancam teman, tidak boleh membeda-bedakan teman, tidak boleh menyiksa teman, tidak boleh memalak te­man, jangan membeda-bedakan teman lagi, tidak mau berbuat kasar lagi dan tidak boleh membully teman lagi. Hal ini menggambar­kan bahwa program resolusi konflik ini mengajarkan siswa untuk lebih peduli terhadap lingkungan, berempati kepada orang lain. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran resolusi konflik dalam pembelajaran IPS di SD, efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah sosial pada siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the implementation of problem-based learning methods to improve learning activities in social studies subjects in class V SD Negeri 101740 Simangambat Kec. Simangambat Kab. Paluta. The research approach used in this study uses qualitative methods, this research was conducted at SD Negeri 101740 Simangambat precisely in class V which is located in Kec. Simangambat, Kab. Padang Lawas Utara, in this study the data was collected by observation, interview and documentation methods. Data sources in this study were taken from teachers and students, The data analysis technique used in this study is the Miles & Huberman method, which consists of data collection, data reduction and data presentation. The results of this study are the learning process of social studies subjects in class V at SD Negeri 101740 Simangambat using methods that are quite varied by collaborating the lecture method with problem-based learning methods, the application of problem-based learning methods (PBM) in social studies subjects at SD Negeri 101740 Simangambat can be concluded that the application of these methods runs effectively and the challenges faced by teachers when applying problem-based learning methods in social studies subjects at SD Negeri 101740 Simangambat the main obstacle lies in the complex process of group division and group presentations which result in a lot of time consuming.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is the implementation of peace education-based social studies learning through inter-ethnic social relations to instill character education values at SMP N 28 Pontianak City. This empirical study uses a qualitative approach, with the survay method as an instrument in this review. The data collection techniques used were interview and in-depth observation techniques. The data sources of this study are primary and secondary data. Data analysis used is descriptive qualitative data analysis that is by collecting from various relevant sources and discussing descriptively based on the results of observations and interviews.Research Results. The application of social studies based on peace education in this school has succeeded in embedding the value of tolerance, democracy and other character education values in students. Peace education-based social studies learning, being one of the ways used by teachers to be able to understand better the various forms of local cultural values and the meaning contained in each local wisdom of each ethnic group in the school environment as a learning resource. Peace education-based social studies learning by utilizing ethnic pluralism that exists in learners can help students' understanding of the material of Socio-Cultural Diversity in Society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pemanfaatan teknologi pembelajaran dari perspektif aksiologi geografi. Geografi adalah bidang ilmu yang membahas tentang berbagai fenomena di bumi yang secara langsung maupun tidak langsung berkaitan erat dengan bumi dan kehidupan manusia, serta mempelajari pola ruang. Geografi berkaitan dengan alam dan orang-orang yang mengeksplorasi elemen fisik, manusia dan sosial dalam studi geografi untuk memahami bagaimana geografi adalah campuran dari ilmu sosial dan ilmu alam. Geografi tidak terlepas dari ilmu-ilmu lain dalam kajian fenomena geosfer. Geografi merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang ada dalam core subject and 21st century themes, dimana pada pembelajaran abad 21 membutuhkan pembelajaran yang terintegrasi dengan teknologi untuk melaksanakan proses kegiatan belajar. Ilmu pengetahuan akan mengalami perkembangan yang pesat, apabila kita memanfaatkan teknologi dan menerapkannya di dalam proses pembelajaran. Teknologi pembelajaran dapat membantu siswa dalam belajar, sehingga pembelajaran akan berjalan lebh efektif dengan memecahkan suatu permasalahan atau studi kasus yang telah diterapkan ke dalam teknologi pembelajaran.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the impact of globalization on the teaching style of geography teachers in Indonesia. The main focus of this research is to identify the extent to which globalization influences four key parameters in teaching: technology adaptation, multiculturalism, global literacy and skills, and educational standards and evaluation. The method used is a survey involving 100 geography teachers from 19 provinces in Indonesia, who assessed their responses to these parameters using a Likert scale. The regression analysis results show that globalization has a significant impact on teaching styles, with a regression coefficient of 0.7486, meaning that every increase in adaptation to globalization enhances the teaching style by 0.7486 units. The R² value of 60.40% and the adjusted R² of 58.78% indicate that around 60% of the variation in teaching style can be explained by the influence of globalization. These findings suggest that globalization encourages teachers to integrate technology into their teaching, promote multicultural values, and apply international educational standards. This study concludes that the influence of globalization on teaching styles in Indonesia is substantial and fosters an improvement in the quality of geography education.Keywords: Globalization, Teaching Style, Geography Teachers

Abstract

This study aims to address the issue of low student interest in learning in class X3 at SMA Panjura, which impacts their learning outcomes. Students often perceive geography as a monotonous and difficult subject, which reduces their involvement and active participation in the learning process. To overcome this issue, this research implements the interactive Kahoot media based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to improve both student interest and the effectiveness of the learning model used in class. PBL encourages students to actively solve real-world problems collaboratively, while Kahoot incorporates gamification elements to increase student engagement. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through Kahoot quizzes, observations, and student interest questionnaires. The results show a significant improvement in both student interest and learning outcomes. Before the implementation of PBL with Kahoot (pre-action), student interest was at 55%. In the first cycle, 80% of students gave positive feedback on Kahoot, although some students felt anxious due to the time limitations and unfamiliarity with the technology. In the second cycle, student interest increased to 92% after the addition of collaborative elements and rewards. The increase in student interest from pre-action (55%) to the second cycle (92%) shows a significant improvement of 37%. These results indicate that the use of Kahoot in PBL successfully enhanced student engagement, interest, and the effectiveness of the learning process.

Abstract

This research examines and analyzes the perceptions of Karo’s young generation regarding Rakut Sitelu. In the Karo people, there is a kinship system which is usually called rakut sitelu, which means triple bond. Rakut sitelu in Karo society consists of three elements, namely kalimbubu, senina, and anak beru. And of these three elements, each has its own function and role. This third element is the basis for the Karo people to create a relationship (kinship). Therefore, every Karo community, especially the young Karo generation, is obliged to know these three elements. The aim of this research is to examine and analyze the perceptions of the younger generation of Karo regarding rakut sitelu, as well as the efforts of the young generation of Karo in maintaining rakut sitelu. In this research, researchers used qualitative research, with descriptive methods. Because by using descriptive methods, researchers can explain the perceptions and efforts of the young Karo generation to understand and maintain specific sitelu rakut that occurs in Karo society, especially the young Karo generation. In accordance with the aim of this research, regarding the Karo young generation’s perception of rakut sitelu, it was found that the three elements of rakut sitelu are the foundation (basis) for the Karo people to know their position in traditional ceremonies, so that by understanding rakut sitelu, they can understand their position. Abstract

Peneltiaian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI pada mata pelajaran geografi di SMA Negeri 7 Palu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Quasi Experimental dengan pendekatan kuantitatif menggunakan rancangan model penelitian Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas XI 1 yang berjumlah 36 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI 4 yang berjumlah 36 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah populasi sebanyak 214 siswa. Instrumen peneltian ini berupa tes tulis 15 butir soal pilihan ganda. Hasil analisis data nilai pretest pada kelas kontrol memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 53,19 dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 60,66. Sedangkan hasil analisis data nilai pretest pada kelas eksperimen memperoleh nilai rata-rata sebesar 53,55 dan nilai rata-rata posttest sebesar 72,75. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan uji-t dua sampel independen (Independent Samples T-Test ) menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi (sig) (2-tailed) yang diperoleh adalah 0,001. Maka pengambilan keputusan adalah H 0 ditolak dan H a diterima karena <0,05. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan berpikir kritis antara siswa dikelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dibandingkan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional. Artinya terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas XI pada mata pelajaran geografi di SMA Negeri 7 Palu
