Abstract

The ongoing transformation in the education sector requires schools to evolve into adaptive, collaborative, and quality‐oriented learning organizations. This study is grounded in the understanding that human relations and effective communication serve as essential foundations for developing a sustainable learning culture within schools. The purpose of this research is to analyze how the integration of Case Based Learning (CBL) and Small Group Discussion (SGD) can strengthen the characteristics of a learning organization at SMP IT An Najma, North Cikarang. This study employed a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, and were analyzed using an interactive model involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implementation of CBL–SGD encourages both teachers and students to become more reflective, receptive to feedback, and skilled in solving real-life problems within the school context. Interactions between teachers and students increased significantly, especially in aspects of collaboration, interpersonal communication, and decision‐making skills. The school demonstrated key characteristics of a learning organization, including continuous learning, systemic thinking, and a collaborative culture. The study concludes that the CBL–SGD strategy is effective in strengthening the school’s role as a learning organization, particularly by enhancing the quality of human relations and communication. The practical implication suggests that case-based and small group learning models can be adopted as strategies to improve instructional quality and reinforce school culture.

Abstract

Artikel ini menyajikan analisis kritis terhadap buku CLP-3 Multivariable Calculus karya Feldman, Rechnitzer, dan Yeager dengan fokus pada kekuatan pedagogis, potensi kesalahan konseptual, dan implikasinya bagi pembelajaran Kalkulus Multivariabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui analisis dokumen, dengan menelaah secara sistematis struktur bab, alur penyajian materi, representasi konsep kunci (limit multivariabel, turunan parsial, gradien, optimasi, dan integral lipat), serta konsistensi notasi dan ketepatan rumus. Analisis dilengkapi dengan perbandingan terhadap beberapa buku dan sumber kalkulus multivariabel lain yang diakui secara luas.Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa CLP-3 Multivariable Calculus memiliki sejumlah kekuatan utama, antara lain struktur materi yang runtut, keterkaitan yang kuat dengan kalkulus satu variabel melalui strategi daur ulang konsep, penggunaan visualisasi geometris dan alat bantu prosedural (misalnya tree diagrams untuk Chain Rule), serta kelimpahan latihan yang disertai petunjuk dan solusi. Di sisi lain, ditemukan beberapa kelemahan, seperti status buku yang masih bersifat work in progress, ketergantungan pada seri CLP sebelumnya, penempatan konsep penting (misalnya Jacobian dalam koordinat umum) sebagai materi opsional, serta sejumlah ketidaktepatan notasi, rumus, dan penulisan yang berpotensi menimbulkan miskonsepsi. Implikasi dari temuan tersebut adalah bahwa CLP-3 Multivariable Calculus tetap layak digunakan sebagai buku ajar utama pada mata kuliah Kalkulus Multivariabel yang berorientasi pada pemahaman konseptual dan pembuktian, dengan syarat penggunaannya disertai klarifikasi konsep oleh dosen, pemanfaatan lembar errata, serta integrasi dengan bahan pendamping yang menyesuaikan konteks mahasiswa. Selain itu, analisis ini menegaskan pentingnya peninjauan kritis terhadap buku teks matematika sebelum dan selama digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using the Islamic storytelling method in improving honest character among second-grade students at STTD Al-Birru Majenang. The Islamic storytelling method was chosen because it can convey moral values and Islamic teachings through stories that are interesting and easy for children to understand. This research uses a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach, consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection cycles. The subjects of the study were second-grade students participating in Islamic Religious Education lessons. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation of student activities during the learning process. The results show an increase in honest behavior among students after the application of the Islamic storytelling method. Students became more aware of the importance of honesty and demonstrated honest attitudes in their daily activities. In addition, this method also increased students' motivation and enthusiasm in following Islamic Religious Education. The study concludes that the Islamic storytelling method is effective in shaping honest character in second-grade students. It is recommended that teachers implement this method routinely in Islamic Religious Education to optimally develop the students' honest character.

Abstract

This article examines the effectiveness of legal protection for pilgrims in the implementation of umrah and hajj services by travel agencies in Indonesia, particularly in cases of departure failure. The study applies both normative and empirical juridical approaches by analyzing consumer protection regulations and the actual practices of agencies that failed to deliver services. Findings reveal a significant gap between existing legal norms and their implementation in the field. The causes of departure failure include weak internal management, unsound financing schemes, lack of government oversight, and low public legal literacy. Legal remedies pursued by victims include civil, criminal, and non-litigation pathways; however, these measures remain suboptimal due to limited access and ineffective restitution mechanisms. Law enforcement tends to focus on administrative sanctions without guaranteeing the recovery of pilgrims’ losses. This article recommends regulatory reform, inter-agency supervision strengthening, and the implementation of standardized contracts and escrow accounts to ensure substantive protection of pilgrims’ rights.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model using the snakes and ladders model on students' critical thinking skills in the Indonesian language subject in fourth-grade students at Medan Amplas Public Elementary School 060923. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The subjects consisted of two classes: 18 students in the experimental class, Class IV C, taught using the PBL model using the snakes and ladders model, and 18 students in the control class, taught using the PBL model without the snakes and ladders model. The total number of students was 36. The research instrument was a critical thinking ability test administered via pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and an independent sample t-test. The results showed a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills after implementing the PBL model using the snakes and ladders model. The average posttest score for the experimental class was 78.44, while the average posttest score for the control class was 69.55, with a significance level of 0.000 <0.05. The pretest-posttest score increase in the experimental class was 17.167 points, higher than the 10.444 points increase in the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model with the snakes and ladders model significantly improved students' critical thinking skills in Indonesian language learning. The snakes and ladders model made the learning process more engaging, interactive, and meaningful, thereby fostering student motivation and active involvement in the problem-solving process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies used by Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in improving the discipline of students in the Takhasus Program of the Persatuan Guru Agama Islam (PGAI) Padang. The background of this research arises from the still weak level of discipline among several students, indicating the need for systematic, targeted, and continuous guidance. This study focuses on identifying the strategies applied by teachers, the supporting and inhibiting factors, and the effectiveness of these strategies in shaping students' disciplinary behavior. Using a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The stages of the research consisted of identifying discipline-related issues, mapping the teacher’s strategies, analyzing the implementation of these strategies, and drawing conclusions. The results show that PAI teachers apply several main strategies, including exemplary behavior, habituation through daily rules, spiritual motivation, and strengthening a conducive learning environment. Supporting factors include teacher commitment, institutional support, and the religious culture of the pesantren, while inhibiting factors involve differences in student character and limited supervision outside formal learning hours. Overall, these strategies proved effective in gradually improving students’ discipline within the Takhasus Program.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between self-compassion and the ability to accept academic criticism among undergraduate students in the Jabodetabek region. A correlational quantitative approach was employed involving 421 active S1 students selected through purposive sampling. Self compassion was measured using the SelfCompassion Scale (SCS) by Neff (2023), while the ability to accept academic criticis m was assessed with the Feedback Orientation Scale (FOS) by Linderbaum & Levy (2010). Data analysis using Spearman’s Rho revealed a weak negative correlation). These findings indicate that higher levels of self compassion are associated with a slightly lower orientation toward actively seeking and valuing academic feedback. The results suggest that students with very high self compassion have achieved strong self acceptance, reducing their perceived need for external validation through criticism. This study recommends that self compassion enhancement programs in universities be integrated with training on actively seeking and utilizing constructive academic feedback.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of digital-based instructional media in Physical Education learning within the context of the Merdeka Curriculum through a literature review of ten national scholarly journals. The analysis focuses on previous findings related to the effectiveness of instructional videos, interactive multimedia, digital applications, learning platforms, and educational games in supporting Physical Education learning. The results indicate that digital media enhance students’ interest and engagement, provide clearer visualization of movement, strengthen motor skills, and offer more efficient and authentic assessment methods. Furthermore, digital media support flexible and adaptive learning in alignment with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. Nevertheless, challenges such as limited technological facilities, internet access, and teachers’ digital literacy remain obstacles that require systematic attention. Overall, the integration of digital media holds significant potential to improve the quality of Physical Education learning when supported with adequate infrastructure and teacher competence.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between physical education and students’ mental health through a literature review of ten national journals published between 2020 and 2025. The analysis summarizes findings related to the role of physical activity, social interaction, and instructional processes in supporting students’ psychological well-being. The results indicate that physical education contributes significantly to reducing stress levels, improving mood, and enhancing self-confidence and social skills. Although several studies report statistically insignificant effects, the overall literature consistently highlights the strategic importance of physical education in promoting mental health, particularly when implemented through effective and developmentally appropriate pedagogical approaches. These findings emphasize the vital role of physical education as a holistic instrument supporting both physical and mental development among students.

Abstract

This literature review examines the relationship between sedentary lifestyles and decreased physical fitness among university students. In recent years, the prevalence of sedentary behavior has increased significantly among students due to technological advancements, academic demands, and lifestyle changes. Even students in physical education and sports programs are not immune to the negative effects of prolonged sitting. This study analyzed empirical findings from 2020 to 2025, focusing on physical activity levels, sedentary behavior, and physical fitness outcomes across various student populations. The findings reveal a consistent negative correlation between sedentary lifestyles and physical fitness, although the strength of this relationship varies based on measurement tools, sample characteristics, and other lifestyle factors such as diet, sleep, and screen time. Some studies even suggest that regular physical activity can mitigate the negative effects of sedentary behavior, highlighting the complexity of this relationship. This review emphasizes the importance of reducing sedentary time and promoting more active lifestyles among students. It also identifies gaps in current research and recommends future studies to use longitudinal designs and objective measurement tools. These insights can guide educational institutions in developing effective health promotion programs tailored to student needs.
