Abstract

This study aims to design and develop the MiniPiano web application as an interactive learning medium to introduce the concept of musical scales to children aged 6–11 years. The background of this study stems from the low interest and understanding of children in basic music theory due to learning methods that are still predominantly conventional, verbal, and lack visual and audio stimulation. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The application was developed through a prototype design process using Figma and code implementation using Visual Studio Code with the integration of multimedia elements in the form of text, images, animations, and audio. The results of the study show that MiniPiano has excellent feasibility based on the assessments of media and material experts, as well as generating positive responses from limited trials with children. This application has been proven to help children understand basic note sequences, increase their interest in learning music, and create an enjoyable learning experience. This study confirms that the use of web-based media and interactive multimedia has the potential to enrich basic music learning and can be an alternative solution in music education for elementary school children.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the integration of dialogic learning and immersive learning within a Project Based Learning (PjBL) framework, using illustrated Jataka stories from the Borobudur Temple reliefs, can improve creativity, literacy skills, and understanding of moral values of elementary school students. The background of this study lies in the low level of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) among Indonesian students and the need for a contextual and adaptive learning approach to the challenges of the 21st century. Jataka reliefs were chosen as a learning resource rich in moral values and narrative visuals, so that they are relevant to the characteristics of students at the concrete operational stage. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design involving Phase B students at Kanisius Wanurejo Borobudur Elementary School. Data collection techniques included participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and student reflection journals. Data analysis followed the Miles & Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the integration of dialogic learning, immersive learning, and PjBL provides students with opportunities to think critically, express ideas, collaborate, and develop deeper moral understanding. The use of illustrated stories has been shown to be effective in enhancing imagination, improving literacy skills, and connecting concepts to real-life experiences. These findings confirm that local culture-based learning through the Jataka narrative project is an innovative and effective approach to fostering creativity, literacy, and character development in elementary school students.

Abstract

Academic supervision is a key function of the principal’s instructional leadership aimed at improving the quality of teaching through continuous professional guidance for teachers. However, its implementation faces various complex challenges, both from the principal’s internal factors and external aspects such as the school environment and the educational system. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach through comprehensive literature analysis to identify these obstacles, including conceptual misunderstandings, limited competence and time, teacher resistance, and inadequate planning and follow-up. The findings reveal that the root cause lies in a paradigm of supervision that remains oriented toward administrative evaluation rather than professional coaching. The impact of these problems includes non-objective teacher performance assessments, hindered professional development, stagnation in instructional quality, and a deteriorating school climate. As solutions, this study recommends enhancing principals’ supervisory competence through intensive training, developing systematic and participatory supervision plans, building a trust-based collaborative culture, utilizing technology to improve supervisory efficiency, and strengthening systemic support from school supervisors and education authorities. Implementing these recommendations is expected to restore the essence of academic supervision as a strategic instrument for promoting teacher professionalism and improving educational quality in schools sustainably.

Abstract

This study analyzes teacher professional development management as an effort to enhance teacher performance at SMP Negeri 1 Cimanggung, Sumedang Regency. The focus of the study consists of four main aspects of POAC-based management: planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating. A qualitative approach using case study methods was used to gain an in-depth understanding. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that planning based on needs analysis, Education Reports, and competency gaps produces targeted programs. Organization involves effective task distribution, optimization of the roles of the vice principal, School Learning Community (Kombel) coordinator, and collaboration among teachers, although external partnerships can still be improved. Implementation includes training, workshops, clinical supervision, mentoring, and Learning Community activities that improve teachers' pedagogical and professional competencies. Evaluation is conducted through continuous monitoring, evaluation meetings, follow-up analysis, and supervision instruments. The implementation of this management runs in an integrated and continuous POAC cycle, resulting in improved teacher performance, learning quality, and a collaborative work culture. The findings confirm the strategic role of the principal as an education manager and provide a model that can be used as a reference for teacher professional development in other schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of integrity and anti-corruption values through a tree planting project on campus and examine how this experience can be developed into creative learning media ideas in elementary schools. The background of this research is driven by the increasing cases of corruption in Indonesia as reported by Transparency International and Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW), so that concrete and meaningful value education needs to be carried out from an early age. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with an experiential learning approach, which focuses on building understanding and character through direct experience. Data were obtained through observations of plant care activities, analysis of tree development as a result of responsible and disciplined practices, and a review of literature related to integrity education, character education, and anti-corruption values. The results show that tree planting and maintenance activities can bring out integrity values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, hard work, caring, and independence, which are formed through habits, reflection, and interaction within groups. In addition, the authentic experience in this project can be used as inspiration for the development of creative learning media for elementary school students, for example through mini-projects, plant growth journals, or visual media that emphasize the importance of caring for the environment as a form of anti-corruption behavior. These findings confirm that real-life experiential learning has great potential in instilling the values of integrity and anti-corruption sustainably in students starting from elementary school level.

Abstract

Pancasila is the foundation of the state, the national ideology, and the ethical guideline for national and state life. However, in contemporary Indonesian political practice, a significant gap remains between the ideal values of Pancasila and the reality of political behavior. Phenomena such as corruption, money politics, polarization, hate speech, and abuse of power demonstrate the weak internalization of Pancasila values within the political system. This article aims to analyze the forms of this gap, its causes, and its implications for the quality of Indonesian democracy. This research uses a qualitative approach through a literature review. The results indicate that the gap arises from a weak ethical political culture, inconsistent law enforcement, low elite role models, and the strengthening of pragmatic politics. Efforts to strengthen Pancasila political ethics need to be carried out through character education, political party reform, and just law enforcement.

Abstract

The phenomenon of declining loyalty and professional attachment among foundation teachers indicates a need to deeply understand how they perceive their profession, particularly in relation to their sense of calling, which is believed to play an important role in perseverance, dedication, and long-term commitment. This study aims to explore teachers' subjective experiences in perceiving their work as a calling through an interpretive phenomenological approach. Four teachers and one supervisor were selected through purposive-criterion sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and participatory observation over three weeks, then analyzed using the stages of Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). Validity was maintained through triangulation of sources and methods, bracketing, and member checking. The results of the study show that teachers interpret teaching as a calling through three dimensions of sense of calling according to Dik and Duffy (2012), namely transcendent summons, meaning and purpose at work, and other-oriented goals and motives. The practical implications of these findings emphasize the need for ongoing support from foundations, such as professional development, improved welfare, and space for reflection for teachers. Keywords: sense of calling, teacher, education foundation
