Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the role Pancasila Education teachers in classroom cleanliness competition in enhancing students’ environmental care character at SMP Negeri 2 Gelumbang. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a study method. The informants were selected through purposive sampling, involving five participants. Data collection techniques included interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through credibility, transferability, dependability, and corfirmability tests. In essence, the role of Pancasila Education teachers plays a crucial role in raising student’s awareness of enviromental cleanliness. Good character in students is typically forestered through education, learning, anf and facilities built on sound morals. A well-developed enviromental stewardship will undoubtedly have a positive impact in the future, preventing a dirty and uncomfortable enviroment, especially in the school enviroment. Therefore, The role of Pancasila Education teacher is crucial in instilling an environmentally conscious attitude in students in the classroom and fostering a sense of environmental cleanliness. One way schools foster this environmental stewardship is through classroom cleanliness competitions. These competitions are held regularly once a week. The purpose of the activities is to foster student’s awareness of the school environmentally by maintaining and caring for the enviroment to keep it clean and tidy. This allows the teaching and learning process between teachers and students to be more comfortable and conducive.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by mathematical smart pyramid media on the mathematical reasoning abilities of elementary school students. The background of this research is the low mathematical reasoning ability of students who tend to only memorize formulas without understanding concepts. This research uses a quantitative method with a Quasi-Experimental design. The population in this study were all students of SDN [Nama Sekolah], with the sample divided into an experimental class using the PBL model and a control class using conventional models. Data collection techniques were carried out through pretest and posttest in the form of reasoning description questions. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the mathematical reasoning ability of students in the experimental class compared to the control class. This is evidenced by the results of the t-test and the average N-Gain value which shows that the use of the PBL model assisted by smart pyramid media is more effective in developing students' logical and systematic thinking patterns.

Abstract

Elementary education in the digital era faces challenges in the form of demands for digital literacy, the strengthening of national insight, limited infrastructure, and policies restricting the use of gadgets in schools. These conditions place school principals in a strategic position to manage learning so that it remains relevant and character oriented. This study aims to analyze the practice of principals’ transformational leadership in building an ecosystem of national insight in the digital era within the context of limited facilities and regulatory paradoxes. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at SDN 1 Munjuljaya, Purwakarta Regency. The research subjects consisted of the school principal and teachers. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out using an interactive model involving data reduction, data display, and meaning-making, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that principals’ transformational leadership is manifested through the exemplification of Pancasila values, communication of a national vision aligned with digital developments, encouragement of instructional innovation, and personal support for teachers’ professional development. These leadership practices promote the integration of national insight and critical digital literacy into learning activities without dependence on students’ personal gadgets. The impacts are reflected in improved teacher competence, the formation of a collaborative school culture, and the development of students’ tolerant, fair, and critical attitudes in responding to information. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the policy on the implementation of Sekolah Rakyat focusing on institutional governance and student admission procedures, as regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2025 and the Decree of the Minister of Social Affairs Number 189 of 2025. Sekolah Rakyat is a social-based education policy designed to provide free formal education for children from extremely poor, poor, and vulnerable families as part of Indonesia’s strategy to eradicate extreme poverty. This research employs a qualitative approach using policy analysis research through a literature study (library research). Data were collected from policy documents, laws and regulations, books, and relevant scholarly articles. Data analysis was conducted through policy content analysis and normative analysis to assess the alignment of the policy with the principles of educational equity and social justice. The findings indicate that the institutional governance of Sekolah Rakyat has been normatively regulated in a comprehensive manner, including organizational structure, institutional functions, and cross-sectoral coordination mechanisms. The student admission policy applies principles of affirmation, transparency, and non-discrimination, prioritizing school dropouts and children from extremely poor families. This policy has significant potential to support equitable access to education and to function as a social elevator in breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. However, the study also identifies several challenges, including the absence of national education standards for Sekolah Rakyat, potential overlaps of authority among ministries, and the need for sustainable funding and a measurable monitoring system. This study concludes that Sekolah Rakyat represents a progressive and relevant affirmative education policy; nevertheless, strengthening regulatory, operational, and sustainability aspects is essential to ensure its optimal contribution to extreme poverty eradication and educational equity in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving ability through the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model assisted by the GeoGebra application on the topic of solid geometry in grade IX at Trisakti 2 Medan Catholic Private Junior High School. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subjects were 22 students of class IX A and a mathematics teacher as a collaborator. Data were collected using teacher and student activity observation sheets and mathematical problem-solving tests, analyzed descriptively using both quantitative and qualitative approaches. The results revealed an improvement in both teacher and student activities as well as students’ mathematical problem-solving skills. Teacher activity increased from good to very good, while student activity improved from fair to good. Students’ mathematical problem-solving ability also progressed, with the final results in Cycle II showing 82% for understanding the problem, 78% for planning, 80% for calculating, and 76% for checking the results. These findings indicate that the Jigsaw model assisted by GeoGebra helps students visualize and comprehend mathematical concepts more effectively and systematically. Thus, the implementation of the Jigsaw cooperative learning model assisted by GeoGebra is effective in improving students’ mathematical problem-solving ability while fostering activeness, responsibility, collaboration, and critical thinking in mathematics learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of religious moderation values among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah As'Adiyah No. 3 Sengkang based on a psychology perspective. The study used qualitative methods through literature studies combined with observation, and interviews. The results showed that religious moderation values have been consistently applied through religious habits, learning activities, and social interactions within the madrasah environment. Students demonstrate tolerance, respect for differences in beliefs, are able to resolve conflicts peacefully, and work together regardless of religious background. From a psychology perspective, the application of religious moderation values contributes to cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development, while also forming a moderate, empathetic, and inclusive personality. These findings emphasize the importance of the role of teachers as role models and the effectiveness of religious habits as a basis for character formation since elementary education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore teachers' experiences in using information technology-based learning media in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) at elementary schools. Although the use of technology in education has developed rapidly, challenges in its implementation at the elementary school level, such as limited information technology infrastructure and teachers' digital competence, remain issues that need to be addressed. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted at SDN Karangduak II. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observations, which were then analyzed using thematic analysis. The results show that despite challenges related to limited hardware and internet connectivity issues, the use of information technology in learning media for IPAS provides significant benefits in increasing student engagement and understanding. Teachers reported that information technology helps them explain abstract concepts and present materials in a more interactive manner. Despite some obstacles, teachers have adapted by making use of available devices, such as learning applications and digital media, and collaborating to enhance their digital skills. This study suggests that elementary schools should improve their information technology infrastructure and provide ongoing training for teachers to optimize the use of information technology in teaching and learning.  Keywords: Learning Media, Information Technology, Teacher, IPAS, Elementary School

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the misuse of tenses in English sentences by students at SDN Pangarangan V, as well as to explore the causes of these errors and the strategies students use to overcome them. The method used in this study is qualitative research with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews with 15 students from grades 5 and 6, as well as analysis of their written documents. The research findings indicate that the most frequent errors occur in the use of the simple past tense, simple present tense, and future tenses. These errors are primarily caused by language transfer, where students transfer rules from the Indonesian language, which does not have a tense system, into English, as well as a lack of understanding of the concept of time taught in English. Additionally, students find it difficult to differentiate between the use of different tenses, such as the simple past tense and the present perfect tense, and often misuse verbs after the auxiliary verb "will" in the future tense. Some students who successfully reduced errors used repetition and context-based practice strategies, such as practicing with sentence examples related to their personal experiences. This research suggests that teaching tenses in elementary school should focus more on real-world application and the use of interactive learning media, to strengthen students' understanding of tense usage in everyday communication.  Keywords: Tense Errors, English Language Learning, Elementary School

Abstract

The problems faced in English language learning at SDN Parsanga I are the students' low vocabulary mastery, caused by a lack of interactive learning media and the use of monotonous methods. Students have difficulty understanding and remembering vocabulary, as well as using it in the correct sentence context. This study aims to determine the effect of Game-Based Learning assisted by Wayground AI on the English vocabulary comprehension of fourth-grade students at SDN Parsanga I. This study uses a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, where students are given a pretest and posttest after the implementation of Wayground AI as a game-based learning medium. The research results show a significant improvement in vocabulary comprehension, with an average pretest score of 67.71 and a posttest score of 82.29. The paired sample t-test analysis shows a Sig. (2-tailed) value < 0.001, indicating a significant effect of using Wayground AI. The R Square test result of 0.611 indicates that 61.1% of the vocabulary comprehension improvement can be explained by this model. Additionally, the N-Gain results show an average increase of 0.45 or 45% (moderate category). This research suggests optimizing the use of technology in learning and providing continuous training for teachers.  Keywords: Game-Based Learning, Wayground AI, Vocabulary Comprehension, English Language Learning, Elementary School.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the challenges of teaching English in elementary schools, which often experience low student participation and difficulty in understanding the meaning of language when teaching is too focused on verbal explanations. This condition requires concrete strategies that are appropriate for the learning characteristics of lower grade students, one of which is through Total Physical Response (TPR), which coordinates language with physical responses. This study aims to describe the implementation of TPR-based English learning strategies in class III A of SDN Pajagalan II Sumenep, including the planning and implementation of activities, student responses and participation, and methods of evaluating understanding in practice. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through classroom observation, interviews with the principal and teachers, and documentation of learning tools and activities. The results showed that the TPR strategy was implemented through a series of instructions (commands), movement modeling by the teacher, repetition, group and individual response exercises, and instruction variation. Students tended to be more enthusiastic and engaged when learning was accompanied by physical actions, and the accuracy of responses increased after repetition and initial modeling. However, some students still needed support when the instructions became more complex, especially with combination commands. These findings indicate that TPR is effective in helping English learning become more active and meaningful for third-grade students, with the caveat that classroom management needs to be strengthened and the level of difficulty needs to be increased gradually.  Keywords: Total Physical Response (TPR), English Language Learning, elementary school, Learning Strategies
