Abstract

The ability to read and understand narrative texts is an important skill that elementary school students must master.Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) is a learning strategy that can be used to improve these skills. However, DRTA is still largely implemented conventionally and does not utilize technology such as artificial intelligence (AI) as a learning tool. The urgency of this study is to compare the reading comprehension skills of students who learn by applying the strategy.Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) assisted by AI and students learning using the Strategy Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) without AI assistance. The integration of AI during the learning process using the DRTA Strategy lies in each step, namely prediction (before reading), content verification (during reading), and reflection (after reading). The approach used is a quantitative approach with a comparative design. The research subjects consisted of 60 elementary school students from two different schools, namely SDN A as the experimental class and SDN B as the control class. Data were collected through a reading comprehension test of narrative texts given in the form posttest after the learning process took place. Data analysis was conducted using the Mann-Whitney Test. The results of the study showed a difference in the reading comprehension ability of narrative texts between students at SDN A and SDN B. Students who learned using the Strategy Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) with AI assistance obtained higher average scores than students who learned using the DRTA Strategy without AI assistance. This finding indicates that AI assistance in the DRTA Strategy Directed Reading Thinking Activity (DRTA) plays a role as a supporter of reading comprehension learning, while the DRTA Strategy without AI assistance remains relevant for implementation in learning.

Abstract

The management of educational facilities and infrastructure and its role in improving the quality of educational services are the focus of this study. Educational facilities and infrastructure are important components that support the effectiveness of the learning process and the quality of services received by students. This study aims to analyze the stages of facilities and infrastructure management, which include planning, procurement, utilization, maintenance, and supervision, as well as their implications for educational service quality. The research method used is library research by reviewing various relevant reference books and scientific journal articles. Data were collected through documentation techniques and analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis with a content analysis approach. The findings indicate that planned, integrated, and sustainable management of educational facilities and infrastructure contributes positively to improving the quality of educational services, particularly in terms of learning comfort, service effectiveness, and student satisfaction. Therefore, the management of educational facilities and infrastructure should be viewed as a strategic component in efforts to improve educational service quality.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of instructional design based on the ADDIE model with a deep learning approach on students’ learning outcomes at SDIT Permata Bunda Bandar Lampung. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely an experimental class and a control class, each comprising 30 students. The experimental class was taught using an instructional design based on the ADDIE model integrated with a deep learning approach, while the control class received conventional instruction. Data were collected using a learning achievement test administered as pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Kolmogorov–Smirnov normality test, Levene’s homogeneity test, independent samples t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results indicated that the average posttest score of the experimental class (86.00) was higher than that of the control class (68.83). The independent samples t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference in learning outcomes between the two groups. Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis revealed that the experimental class achieved a moderate level of improvement (0.61), while the control class showed a low level of improvement (0.10). Therefore, it can be concluded that instructional design based on the ADDIE model with a deep learning approach is effective in improving elementary school students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the relevance of Islamic Religious Education (IRE) in shaping the ethics and character of vocational high school students in modern life. The rapid development of digital technology, globalization, and changing social values poses moral and ethical challenges for students, particularly those in vocational education who are prepared to enter the world of work. This research aims to analyze the role, strategies, and relevance of Islamic Religious Education in forming ethical and character values among students at SMK Bandung Selatan 1 Bandung and SMK Aqua Vitae Bandung. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving school principals, Islamic education teachers, students, and relevant school documents. The findings reveal that Islamic Religious Education plays a significant role in developing students’ ethical behavior and character through contextual learning, teacher role modeling, religious habituation, and integration of Islamic values with modern life and work ethics. However, challenges such as limited instructional time, diverse student backgrounds, and the influence of digital culture remain obstacles. The study concludes that Islamic Religious Education remains highly relevant in fostering ethical, responsible, and morally grounded vocational school graduates when implemented contextually and supported by collaboration among schools, families, and communities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between intrapersonal intelligence and learning independence in Pancasila Education among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 11 Palembang. The research employed a quantitative correlational design involving 76 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using intrapersonal intelligence and learning independence questionnaires supported by classroom observation data. The results show that students’ intrapersonal intelligence is predominantly in the moderate category, while learning independence is classified in the high category. Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis indicates a very strong positive relationship between intrapersonal intelligence and learning independence, with a correlation coefficient of r = 0.983 and a significance value of p < 0.001. These findings indicate that strengthening students’ intrapersonal intelligence may contribute to the development of independent learning in Pancasila Education.

Abstract

Career planning is an important aspect of vocational education to prepare students for the workforce. At SMKN 2 Padang Panjang, career guidance is still conducted manually using conventional questionnaires, which is considered inefficient, especially given the limited number of guidance and counseling (BK) teachers. This research aims to develop a web-based expert system for career planning using the forward chaining method to provide career recommendations tailored to students' interests and talents. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) model and an Agile-based SDLC software development methodology. The system is built using the Laravel framework and tested through alpha testing and beta testing involving experts and end-users. The test results demonstrate that the system can provide relevant career recommendations, accelerate the guidance process, and improve the accuracy and efficiency of counseling services, with a system validity of 97.96%, practicality validity of 93.85%, and validation by field respondents of 96.67%. This system also assists BK teachers in managing student data and reducing administrative workloads. In conclusion, the development of this expert system contributes to the digitization of career guidance services in vocational schools and serves as an effective and adaptive alternative solution to meet students' needs in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Scout extracurricular activities on the development of students’ social skill at SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara. The social skill referred to in this study include verbal and nonverbal communication, building positive relationships, teamwork, constructive problem-solving, empathy, and effective relationship management. This research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The population of this study consisted of all students participating in Scout activities, totaling 281 students. However, the sample included only 40 students, consisting of Dewan Ambalan members and students who actively participated in Scout activities. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The data analysis was conducted using simple linear regression, which indicated that Scout extracurricular activities have a positive and significant effect on the development of students’ social skill. The coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.403 or 40.3%, meaning that 40.3% of the development of students’ social skill can be explained by their involvement in Scout extracurricular activities, while the remaining 59.7% is influenced by other factors.These findings indicate that Scout activities, through programs such as semaphore practice, Morse code activities, camping, pioneering (knot-tying), and routine training sessions, contribute to the development of students’ social skill.

Abstract

The research proposal outlines and effort to improve the initial reading ability of first grade elementary school students true the application of buku cermat. The background highlight the law initial reading comprehension a most students, necessitating inovatif and contextual learning media. The study aims to describe the implementation process for buku cermat and unalisis impact on students reading ability. Employing qualitative with classroom action research a course to cycles, the metodologi involves planning observing, and reflecting. Data collection utilizes observation, interview, documentation and inisial reading tests. Preliminary finding from the proposal indicate that buku cermat has a positif and signifikan effect with the average reading score increasing from allow of 50 in pr cycles to 80 in Cycles II, demonstrating improve recognition of letters and syllables. The expected out count is a signifikan and chainsment in students initial reading skill motivation and confidence.

Abstract

Exemplary-based education (uswah hasanah) is a fundamental approach in Islamic education that plays a crucial role in shaping students’ character, moral integrity, and academic culture. This article aims to analyze the concept of teachers’ uswah hasanah from the perspectives of the Qur’an and Hadith and to examine its relevance as a human resource management (HRM) strategy for educators in Islamic educational institutions. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research. Primary data are derived from the Qur’an and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), while secondary data include Qur’anic exegesis, Islamic education literature, and relevant previous studies. Data were analyzed using content analysis and descriptive-analytical methods to explore the normative and practical dimensions of exemplary leadership in education. The findings indicate that uswah hasanah has a strong theological foundation, particularly in Qur’an Surah Al-Ahzab (33:21), and functions as a transformative method of value internalization through real-life examples rather than verbal instruction alone. From a tafsir tarbawi perspective, teachers’ exemplary conduct can be positioned as a strategic framework for managing educational human resources, encompassing integrity-based recruitment, continuous professional development, ethical performance evaluation, and the establishment of a compassionate organizational culture. Therefore, uswah hasanah serves not only as a character education method but also as a strategic model for educator management in Islamic education (teacher).

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between dietary patterns and physical activity with the nutritional status of students at MA DDI Kanang. The method used is quantitative with a correlational research design. The study population consisted of all students at MA DDI Kanang, with 142 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires on dietary patterns and physical activity, as well as nutritional status measurements through anthropometry. The results of the correlation test showed an R value of 0.330 and an R² value of 0.109, indicating that dietary patterns and physical activity simultaneously have a statistically significant relationship but with a low contribution level to nutritional status, which is 10.9%. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a statistically significant but practically limited relationship between dietary patterns and physical activity with the nutritional status of MA DDI Kanang students.
