Abstract

This study aims to explore the integration of local cultural values, especially Riau batik with geometric patterns, into mathematics learning in elementary schools through an ethnomathematics approach. Batik as a cultural heritage not only holds aesthetic value, but also contains mathematical concepts such as symmetry, transformation, and pattern repetition. Using an exploratory qualitative method, researchers analyzed geometric patterns in several typical Riau batik motifs, such as the selembayung, pucuk rebung, and itik balik petang motifs. The results of the study indicate that the integration of ethnomathematics elements from Riau batik can improve students' understanding of geometric concepts, foster appreciation for local culture, and strengthen the relationship between mathematics and real life. This article recommends the development of contextual learning tools based on ethnomathematics as an innovative medium in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in elementary schools.

Abstract

Collaboration is a key element in improving organizational effectiveness and competitiveness. However, an individual's ability to collaborate does not develop spontaneously; rather, it is influenced by leadership styles that direct, motivate, and create a work environment that supports positive interactions. This study aims to illustrate the role of leadership styles in transforming individuals into high-performing teams. Secondary data were collected from relevant scientific articles, academic books, and policy documents, then analyzed thematically to obtain a conceptual and empirical synthesis. The results of the study indicate that transformational and participatory leadership have the most significant influence on the formation of effective collaboration, primarily through increased trust, open communication, and a sense of shared responsibility. These findings confirm that leadership style not only influences individual behavior but also determines the quality of collaboration and overall team performance. Therefore, organizations need to develop more humanistic, adaptive, and inclusive leadership styles to encourage the creation of high-performing teams.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the learning difficulties experienced by fifth-grade students in understanding multiplication at SDI Naikoten 1. The research used a descriptive quantitative approach with 24 students as participants. Data were gathered through questionnaires, classroom observations, and students' written work. A 15-item Likert scale questionnaire was used to measure their level of difficulty. The results show that the average score was 2.61, which falls into the "moderate difficulty" category. Most students (47.22%) experienced moderate difficulty, 33.33% were in the low-difficulty category, and 11.11% faced high difficulty. The study found that students' main challenges came from weak understanding of multiplication concepts, dependence on memorization, frequent mistakes in column multiplication, and limited use of concrete teaching aids. Observations and documentation supported these findings by showing similar patterns of conceptual and procedural errors. Overall, the study concludes that students' difficulties arise from both cognitive and instructional factors. Teachers are encouraged to strengthen conceptual understanding using concrete media, apply differentiated teaching, and conduct ongoing formative assessments to support students with different learning needs.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is a government priority policy aimed at improving children's nutritional status, promoting learning readiness, and supporting equitable distribution of educational quality. Adequate nutrition is closely related to students' cognitive development, stamina, and learning resilience, thus influencing their school attendance. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the implementation of the MBG Program and the attendance of fifth-grade elementary school students. The study used a quantitative, descriptive correlational approach, with a sample of 28 fifth-grade students, drawn using a saturated sampling technique. The instruments used were a 3-point Likert scale questionnaire and student attendance data documentation. The descriptive analysis showed an average score of 1.86 for students' perceptions of MBG, which falls into the "tend to agree" category. The median was in the "Agree" category, while the mode was in the "Disagree" category. Despite variations in perceptions, the general trend indicated a positive assessment of the MBG program. Attendance documentation data showed that students with positive perceptions of MBG had higher and more stable attendance rates. These findings indicate a positive relationship between students' perceptions of MBG and attendance, although the study did not use inferential statistical tests. Overall, the implementation of MBG is considered to have contributed to improving students' physical readiness, energy, and motivation to learn, thus increasing their school attendance.

Abstract

Academic resilience refers to students’ ability to persevere, recover, and adapt positively to academic challenges and pressures throughout their studies. This ability is essential because it supports sustained learning engagement and facilitates the management of academic obstacles that may hinder study continuation. Although research on academic resilience is extensive, most studies focus on its relationship with other variables, while studies that specifically describe students’ academic resilience based on its dimensions remain limited, particularly in the Indonesian context. Therefore, this study aims to describe academic resilience among students. This study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive single-variable design. The sample consisted of 103 students recruited using convenience sampling. Data were collected using the academic resilience scale developed by Hardiansyah et al. (2020), which consists of 27 items covering four dimensions adapted from Cassidy (2015): perseverance, reflecting and adaptive help-seeking, negative affect and emotional response, and adaptive coping. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics by comparing empirical means with hypothetical means. The results indicate that, overall, students’ academic resilience falls into the high category, as shown by a hypothetical mean of 3.6490 and an empirical mean of 2.50. These findings suggest that students demonstrate adequate capabilities in maintaining academic perseverance, reflecting on learning experiences, seeking adaptive assistance, and regulating emotional responses when facing academic stress. Nevertheless, variations across dimensions indicate that certain aspects still require improvement to achieve optimal academic resilience. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for universities in developing more targeted academic resilience development programs.
