Abstract

Nurul Aini Putri, Character Development System of Students at Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Hj. Haniah Maros (supervised by Dr. H. Andi Bunyamin, M.Pd. and Dr. H. Andi Darmawangsa, S.Ag., M.Ag). This study aims to describe the character development system of students at Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Hj Haniah Maros Regency and describe the effectiveness of character development of students at Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Hj Haniah Maros Regency Maros Regency. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenal approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation, then analyzed through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the character development system of students at Madrasah Aliyah Pondok Pesantren Hj. Haniah in Maros Regency is implemented in an integrated manner through various strategies, namely habituation, role modeling, discipline, responsibility, independence, advice (mau'izah), a personal approach, and the application of educational rewards and punishments. The effectiveness of character development is evident in changes in students' attitudes, who are increasingly disciplined, responsible, independent, socially aware, and demonstrate better morals. Character values ​​are not only understood theoretically through the Aqidah and Akhlak subject but are also internalized through daily habits of religious activities and extracurricular activities. This research recommends that Madrasahs continue to develop a character development system through collaboration between teachers, dormitory supervisors, and parents. Teachers and supervisors are expected to be role models and creative in instilling moral values. Students are expected to maintain the discipline, responsibility, and independence that have been developed. Future researchers are advised to examine character development more broadly.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a crucial competency that must be developed from the elementary school level, yet PISA results indicate that Indonesian students' scientific literacy remains relatively low, partly due to the limited scientific inquiry activities in science learning. This study aims to identify the level of fifth-grade elementary school students' abilities in planning scientific inquiry on water cycle material based on the PISA Framework 2025. This study employed a quantitative descriptive method with 55 fifth-grade students from SDN K in the 2025/2026 academic year selected through total sampling technique. Theresearch instrument consisted of 10 multiple-choice questions that had been validated and tested for reliability, with data analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results show that 59% of students have good abilities in planning scientific inquiry with an average score of 68.73, while 42% of students remain in the low and very low categories with a high standard deviation of 25.46, indicating significant ability variation among students. This study concludes that fifth-grade students at SDN K possess good ability levels in planning scientific inquiry competence; however, more intensive learning improvement effortsare needed for students in the low category to enhance scientific literacy comprehensively.

Abstract

Gross motor skills involve the coordination of large muscle movements that emphasize physical strength, balance, and body control in early childhood. Body movement activities serve as effective stimulation to optimize children’s physical development. This study aims to determine the relationship between ablution (wudhu) movements and prayer (shalat) movements on the gross motor development of children aged 5–6 years at Khairunnisa Islamic Kindergarten, Jambi City. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach using the product-moment formula. The sampling technique applied was random sampling, involving 30 children for pilot testing and 52 children as the main research sample. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation, and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS version 25. The findings reveal a positive and significant relationship between ablution movements and prayer movements simultaneously on children’s gross motor development. The significance value for ablution movements was 0.023 and for prayer movements was 0.009, both indicating statistical significance. These results suggest that structured religious movement activities such as wudhu and shalat can contribute effectively to the improvement of gross motor skills in early childhood education. Therefore, integrating religious physical practices into daily learning activities may support both motor development and spiritual formation of young children.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of presuppositions in the language of the demonstration banner "Poor People Are Prohibited from Having Graduates" and to identify the types of presuppositions in public comments on social media. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach and a qualitative descriptive design. Data were analyzed based on George Yule's theory of presuppositions, which includes six types: existential, factual, nonfactual, lexical, structural, and counterfactual presuppositions. The results of the analysis show that the speech in the banner and public comments contain various forms of presuppositions that reflect social criticism, satire, and the reality of educational inequality. These findings are expected to enrich pragmatic studies, especially in the analysis of social criticism discourse in the digital era.

Abstract

Math phobia arising from the assumption that math is abstract and difficult to understand becomes an obstacle for students, so a deep learning approach is needed to improve their learning experience and confidence. This study aims to analyze the role of deep learning approach as an effective solution to overcome math phobia in elementary school students. Based on 3 key aspects (mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning), deep learning encourages students' active involvement to create meaningful knowledge, build critical thinking capacity, and essentially overcome negative attitudes towards math early on. This research is qualitative research with phenomenological design. The methods used are observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this research activity show that the application of deep learning designed according to students' learning experiences can help reduce math phobia. Mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning creates a more positive learning atmosphere so that anxiety is reduced and learning outcomes are improved.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the practice of unregistered marriage and its implications for women's economic protection in Maurole District, Ende Regency, from the perspective of Islamic law and positive law. This study uses a qualitative method with a sociological and normative juridical approach. Primary data were obtained through interviews with women engaged in unregistered marriages, religious leaders, village officials, and KUA employees, while secondary data were obtained from scientific literature and laws and regulations, particularly Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Marriage. The results of the study indicate that unregistered marriages still occur due to economic factors, premarital pregnancy, cultural factors, and low public legal awareness regarding the importance of marriage registration. Religiously, unregistered marriages are considered valid because they fulfill the pillars and requirements of marriage, but from a state perspective, such marriages do not have perfect evidentiary power. As a result, women experience vulnerability in demanding rights to maintenance, division of joint property, and economic security after divorce. From an Islamic legal perspective, women's economic protection has been regulated through the obligation to provide maintenance, dowry, and the principle of justice in line with the maqashid al-syariah. Therefore, marriage registration is an important instrument to ensure legal certainty and protection for women.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the perceptions of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers regarding the spiritual and social activities of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 8 Muaro Jambi. The study is grounded in the important role of PAI teachers in shaping students’ character, particularly in spiritual aspects such as religious discipline, honesty, and gratitude, as well as social aspects including cooperation, empathy, and responsibility. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving PAI teachers and eighth-grade students. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, and the validity of the findings was ensured using triangulation. The findings indicate that teachers perceive students’ spiritual and social activities as generally positive. Students demonstrate habits such as praying before lessons, participating in religious programs, and showing care and cooperation in social activities. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, particularly limited discipline among some students and insufficient depth of religious understanding. Overall, the spiritual and social development of students has progressed positively due to continuous guidance and exemplary practices provided by PAI teachers at the school.

Abstract

The world of play is the world of children. Playing is a medium of stimulation for aspects of physical-motor, social-emotional, language, and cognitive development. Traditional games provide opportunities for children as a medium to bring out their potential for development. In traditional games, children will develop the ability to work together, interact with each other, and have the ability to obey rules. The purpose of modified traditional games is to introduce old games so that they are still interesting for children and children do it in a fun way. For the activities that have been carried out at Taman Kanak-Kanak Islam terpadu Fatmawati, located at Perum Mulya Mekar Indah, Desa Mulya Mekar, Kabupaten Purwakarta, Provinsi Jawa Barat totaling 15 children, consisting of 5 boys, 10 girls with an average age of 4-8 years. With many children involved in traditional games, it will develop children’s abilities to socialize and stimulate various aspects of development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the potential and development strategies of the Danau Atas tourism object located within the Alahan Resort/Villa Resort area in Nagari Alahan Panjang, Solok Regency, by employing the SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) analytical approach. The Danau Atas area possesses major attractions in the form of a cool highland natural panorama, scenic lake landscapes, and opportunities for family-oriented recreation and nature-based relaxation. However, the management and development of this tourism area have not yet been optimal, particularly in terms of supporting facilities, enhancement of tourism attractions, and community involvement in tourism management.This research adopts a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through field observations, documentation, and interviews with key stakeholders, including resort managers, local communities, and relevant parties involved in tourism development. The SOAR analysis is applied to identify the internal strengths of the tourism area, available development opportunities, the aspirations of managers and the local community, as well as the expected outcomes of community-based tourism development strategies in the Danau Atas area. The findings indicate that the primary strengths of the Danau Atas tourism object lie in its attractive natural scenery, the availability of amenities such as villas and resorts, and its strategic location along the Alahan Panjang tourism route. Development opportunities include the growing trend of highland nature tourism, digital promotion, and inter-stakeholder collaboration in tourism management. Development aspirations are directed toward improving facilities, strengthening human resource capacity, and developing tourism attractions based on local culture. The recommended strategies include enhancing the quality of amenities, adding supporting facilities such as gazebos and sanitation infrastructure, and strengthening community participation to realize a sustainable and competitive Danau Atas tourism destination.
