Abstract

This study addresses the low cognitive abilities of Kelompok B children at TK Nurul Iman in understanding number symbols, sequencing numbers, and matching quantities to corresponding symbols. The problem stems from limited learning media and an overreliance on verbal instruction, which reduces children’s engagement and focus. The research aims to determine whether the use of number block media can enhance the cognitive development of these children. Employing a Classroom Action Research design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, the study was conducted in two cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 25 children aged 5–6 years. Data were collected through systematic observation and documentation, then analyzed using percentage techniques to assess developmental indicators. The results revealed a significant improvement across both cycles. In Cycle I, 48% of the children remained in the “Not Yet Developed” category, indicating persistent difficulties in number recognition and problem-solving. After implementing targeted improvements in Cycle II, such as clearer demonstrations, structured group activities, and step-by-step practice, the outcomes shifted dramatically: 0% remained in the “Not Yet Developed” category, 8% were “Beginning to Develop,” 16% “Developed as Expected,” and 76% reached “Very Well Developed.” These findings demonstrate that number block media effectively stimulate logical thinking, number symbol recognition, and independent problem-solving in early childhood. Consequently, the integration of concrete, manipulative media like number blocks is highly recommended for optimizing cognitive development in early childhood education settings.

Abstract

This study aims to create learning videos with the help of the Renderforest application on Social Sciences (IPS) subjects for class VII at UPT SMPN 5 Panca Rijang and to test the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the videos. The research method applied is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model which includes five phases: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects included material and media expert validators, IPS teachers, and 35 class VII students. The validation results showed that the learning videos were very valid with scores of 87% (media experts) and 86% (material experts) respectively. The practicality test showed very practical results with an average percentage of 84%, while the effectiveness test through a comparison of pretest and posttest scores showed a significant increase with the N-Gain value in the effective category. Therefore, learning videos supported by Renderforest are suitable for use as learning tools to deepen students' understanding in IPS.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach in early childhood education at TK Negeri Pembina Cibeureum. A qualitative descriptive methodology was employed, involving teachers and 17 students from Group B, categorized into four learning groups. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the STEAM approach was operationalized through simple science experiments, specifically a volcanic eruption simulation. This activity successfully integrated the five STEAM components into a contextual and meaningful learning experience. While most children demonstrated high levels of enthusiasm, curiosity, and active participation in group work, their communicative engagement—particularly in posing questions and articulating opinions—remained limited to a few individuals. Furthermore, the predominance of teacher-centered instruction and inadequate facilities were identified as primary constraints to optimizing STEAM implementation. The study concludes that the STEAM approach holds significant potential for enhancing the quality of early childhood education by fostering an active, creative, and meaningful learning environment. Consequently, improving teacher competencies and upgrading educational facilities are essential to ensure a more effective and robust application of STEAM.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of increasing interest among Generation Z in gym activities as part of modern healthy lifestyle trends. The main problem in this study is to identify the factors that motivate Generation Z to perform gym exercises and to determine which factor is the most dominant at Arena Fitness Banda Aceh. The objective of this research is to describe and analyze the levels of health, physical appearance, social, and lifestyle motivations in this group. This study utilizes a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method. The research sample consisted of 30 respondents from Generation Z selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaire instruments using a Likert scale, observations, and structured interviews. The data analysis technique employed was descriptive statistics including percentages and means. The research results based on questionnaire data show that health motivation is the most dominant factor with a percentage of 94.29% (very good category). Lifestyle motivation is also at a very strong level with a dominance in the very good category at 86.70%, followed by physical appearance motivation which reached 83.30% in the very good category. Meanwhile, social motivation has the lowest influence compared to other factors. The conclusion of this study is that Generation Z motivation for gym exercise is driven more by intrinsic factors, namely health awareness and lifestyle habituation, compared to extrinsic factors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of animation-based Discovery Learning method and learning styles on the understanding of length unit conversion in fourth-grade students of SD Negeri Sumberjo 2 Jombang. The study used a quantitative approach with a 2 × 3 factorial design, involving two independent variables, namely learning methods (animation-based Discovery Learning and animation-based lecture method) and learning styles (visual, audio, and kinesthetic), and one dependent variable in the form of understanding of length unit conversion. The population and sample of the study amounted to 120 students taken using a random sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through an understanding test and a learning style questionnaire. Data were analyzed using a two-way ANOVA test after fulfilling the prerequisite tests for normality and homogeneity. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. A two-way ANOVA analysis showed that the animation-based Discovery Learning method significantly influenced the understanding of length unit conversion (F = 89.333; Sig. = 0.000), learning style significantly influenced the understanding of length unit conversion (F = 5.942; Sig. = 0.004), and there was a significant interaction effect between the learning method and learning style (F = 5.404; Sig. = 0.006). The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.477 indicates that 47.7% of the variation in understanding of length unit conversion was explained by the learning method and learning style. These findings indicate that animation-based Discovery Learning is more effective than the lecture method, especially when adapted to students' learning styles. Therefore, selecting adaptive learning methods and considering students' learning style characteristics is crucial to improving the understanding of mathematical concepts in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of religious activities in Madrasah Aliyah in enhancing students’ spirituality and moral character. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving school principals, Islamic education teachers, religious activity supervisors, and students as research subjects. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation.The results indicate that the development of religious activities is implemented in a structured manner through daily, weekly, and annual programs, which not only focus on ritual aspects but also emphasize character building and social development. The development strategies include habituation of religious practices, teacher role modeling, active student participation, and the use of varied and contextual learning methods. These developments have a significant impact on improving students’ spirituality, as reflected in increased awareness of worship, closer relationship with God, and the internalization of religious values in daily life. Furthermore, religious activities also contribute to the improvement of students’ moral behavior, including discipline, responsibility, politeness, and social awareness.However, several challenges were identified, such as low student interest, the influence of technological developments, and limited facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, innovation in developing religious activities is needed to ensure they remain adaptive and relevant to the needs of students in the modern era.

Abstract

Divorce is a legal and social phenomenon that has a significant impact on family Divorce is a legal and social phenomenon that has a significant impact on family integrity and the psychological stability of the parties involved, particularly women and children. One of the mandatory efforts in resolving divorce cases in court is mediation, as regulated in Supreme Court Regulation Number 1 of 2016 concerning Mediation Procedures in Court. Mediation aims to encourage reconciliation between husband and wife before the examination of the main case proceeds. In practice, the implementation of mediation in divorce lawsuit cases (cerai gugat) at the Religious Court of Teluk Kuantan still faces various obstacles, resulting in a relatively low mediation success rate. The issues examined in this study are: (1) How is the implementation of mediation stages in divorce lawsuit cases at the Religious Court of Teluk Kuantan based on Supreme Court Regulation Number 1 of 2016? (2) What factors and obstacles cause the failure of mediation in divorce lawsuit cases at the Religious Court of Teluk Kuantan? This study aims to determine the implementation of mediation stages in divorce lawsuit cases at the Religious Court of Teluk Kuantan and to identify the factors that contribute to unsuccessful mediation. This research applies an empirical or sociological legal research method, which focuses on the application of law in society. The study is descriptive in nature, aiming to clearly describe the mediation process in handling divorce lawsuit cases. Primary data were obtained through interviews with the Head of the Religious Court, judge mediators, non-judge mediators, community leaders, and parties involved in divorce lawsuit cases. Secondary data were collected from laws and regulations, literature, scientific journals, legal doctrines, and relevant previous studies. The findings show that the implementation of mediation in divorce lawsuit cases at the Religious Court of Teluk Kuantan has generally been carried out in accordance with Supreme Court Regulation Number 1 of 2016, starting from the pre-mediation stage, the mediation process, to the reporting of mediation results. However, mediation remains procedural and has not been fully effective in achieving reconciliation. This condition is reflected in the low number of successful mediations, namely 12 cases in 2022, 7 cases in 2023, 3 cases in 2024, and 1 case from January to April 2025. Factors contributing to mediation failure include the strong desire of the parties to divorce, prolonged marital conflicts, lack of good faith, technical obstacles such as distance of domicile, and limited internet access in conducting online mediation. Limited time availability of mediators and socio- cultural factors within the community also influence the effectiveness of mediation, resulting in mediation often failing to produce a peaceful settlement agreement.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of classroom management in addressing undisciplined behavior of students in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at MAN 2 Kota Sukabumi. The background of this research is based on the presence of various forms of undisciplined behavior among students, such as tardiness, lack of dress discipline, and delays in returning to class after breaks, which affect the effectiveness of the learning process. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of classroom management, identify forms of undisciplined behavior, and analyze the efforts made by teachers in overcoming these challenges. This research uses a qualitative approach with a field research method, where data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that classroom management has been implemented through planning, implementation, and direct classroom control. Teachers apply clear rules, maintain consistent supervision, and use a humanistic approach in guiding students. Despite several challenges, such as differences in student characteristics and limited external support, the strategies applied by teachers are able to gradually reduce undisciplined behavior and create a more conducive and effective learning environment. Therefore, effective and human-centered classroom management plays a significant role in improving student discipline and supporting the quality of the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Discovery Learning model assisted by Quizizz media compared to conventional Discovery Learning and the effect of learning interest on science literacy in the digestive system material of grade IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Gome, Puncak Regency, while also testing the interaction between the two. The method used was a quasi-experimental with a 2 × 2 factorial design, involving samples selected through cluster random sampling into two groups, namely the experimental class assisted by Quizizz and the conventional control class. The research instruments were a multiple-choice science literacy test that had been validated and reliable and a Likert scale learning interest questionnaire. Data were collected through tests and questionnaires, then analyzed using a two-way ANOVA test with the help of SPSS 26. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the learning model on science literacy (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05), a significant effect of learning interest on science literacy (Sig. = 0.014 < 0.05), and a significant interaction between the learning model and learning interest (Sig. = 0.026 < 0.05). These findings confirm that Quizizz-assisted Discovery Learning is more effective in improving science literacy, that learning interest contributes to learning outcomes, and that the combination of the two has a significant influence on students' science literacy achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the school environment on students' learning interest in Islamic Education (PAI) at SMP Puja Handayani Palembang. This research employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The sample consists of 50 students selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques include observation and questionnaires using a Likert scale of 1–5 consisting of 20 statements. Data analysis was conducted through validity and reliability tests, descriptive analysis, correlation, and simple linear regression. The results show that the school environment is categorized as good with a mean score of 3.78, while students’ learning interest in Islamic Education (PAI) is categorized as fairly high with a mean score of 3.65. The correlation test indicates a strong relationship between the school environment and learning interest in PAI with a coefficient of 0.68. The regression analysis shows that the school environment has a positive effect on students' learning interest in PAI with the equation Y = 12.35 + 0.56X. The hypothesis test shows a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the school environment significantly affects students' learning interest in Islamic Education (PAI). The contribution of the school environment to learning interest is 46%, while the remaining 54% is influenced by other factors outside this study.
