Abstract

This study aims to enhance early childhood English proficiency through the implementation of the Choral Speaking method combined with a bilingual approach. Early childhood is a critical period for language acquisition; however, many preschool learners demonstrate limited English comprehension, which affects their motivation and participation. This study employed a qualitative approach using participatory observation and in-depth interviews. The program was conducted at Tabika Kemas Nur Aisyah using the Curriculum Standard Prasekolah Kebangsaan (CSPK) with a balanced bilingual approach (50% Malay and 50% English). The Choral Speaking method was implemented as a structured group-based activity emphasizing repetition, rhythm, and pronunciation practice. The findings indicate that children demonstrated increased enthusiasm, improved vocabulary acquisition, and more accurate pronunciation. In addition, children showed greater confidence in using English. This study highlights that interactive group-based methods integrated with bilingual instruction effectively support early childhood English learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the efforts of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in instilling honesty values in students and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design conducted at SD IT Bumi Sholawat Wates. The research subjects include PAI teachers, the principal, and fifth-grade students, selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques consist of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, while data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation used to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that the efforts of PAI teachers in instilling honesty values are implemented through integrated strategies, including role modeling, habituation, providing advice, supervision, and the application of sanctions. Role modeling emerges as the most dominant strategy as it provides concrete examples that are easily imitated by students, while habituation strengthens the internalization of values through daily practices. The success of instilling honesty values is supported by a religious school environment and institutional support; however, it is still challenged by external environmental influences and low personal awareness among students. This study emphasizes the importance of the teacher’s role as a role model and highlights the need for synergy between schools, families, and communities in fostering students’ honesty character in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of digital-based learning media on learning interest and academic achievement among elementary school students in Indonesia. Using a systematic literature review and SWOT analysis, the research synthesizes data from studies published between 2020 and 2025. The results indicate that digital media, including gamification (Quizizz, Kahoot, Wordwall) and immersive technologies (Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality), significantly enhance student engagement and conceptual understanding. Statistical meta-analysis shows an effect size ranging from 1.07 to 2.49, which is considered highly significant in educational interventions. The integration of digital tools facilitates the visualization of abstract concepts, bridging the cognitive gap for students in the concrete operational stage. However, the success of digital implementation is heavily contingent upon teacher competency within the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework and the availability of infrastructure. This report provides a detailed abstract and a comprehensive conclusion as requested, emphasizing that joyful learning through digital media is a viable solution for post-pandemic education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The novel 3726 MDPL by Nurwina Sari stands as one of Indonesia's popular literary phenomena of 2024, having set a sales record of over 40,000 copies within three days of its release. This study aims to describe the variety of language styles employed in the novel and to analyze their influence on reader appeal. A descriptive qualitative method with a stylistic approach was applied, drawing on the theoretical frameworks of Keraf (2016) and Nurgiyantoro (2017). Data were collected through careful reading and note-taking techniques applied to narrative excerpts, dialogues, and descriptions containing figurative language. The analysis reveals five dominant language styles in 3726 MDPL: simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, and metonymy. The novel's distinctiveness lies in its blending of casual, colloquial dialogue with reflective, poetic expressions, creating a stylistic dualism that is simultaneously accessible and aesthetically rich. These language styles are found to enhance reader appeal through four primary mechanisms: emotional resonance, narrative immersion, high readability, and strong quotability in the social media era. The study concludes that the deliberate and precise selection of language style is a key factor in bridging literary value and market appeal in contemporary popular fiction.

Abstract

This study examines the paradox of family harmony in the film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap by Bene Dion Rajagukguk. The main issue in this research is how the family harmony that appears on the surface actually conceals conflicts, tensions, and emotional distance among family members. The aim of this study is to reveal the forms of the harmony paradox and interpret its meaning in the context of family relationships. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a content analysis approach, which focuses on narrative elements, dialogues, and interactions among the characters in the film. Data collection was conducted through non-participant observation by repeatedly and thoroughly watching the film, as well as documentation techniques in the form of recording dialogues, scenes, and interactions relevant to the research focus. The obtained data were then analyzed interpretatively to understand the communication dynamics and family relationships depicted. The research results indicate that family harmony in the film is built through cultural demands, non-open communication patterns, and the dominance of parental authority, which tends to suppress emotional expression and individual desires. This condition creates a paradox, where harmony appears to be maintained on the surface, but conflict continues to occur secretly through dialogue and interactions between characters. This study concludes that the film reflects the complexity of maintaining family integrity, especially in cultures that prioritize togetherness over openness, so true harmony requires honest communication and mutual understanding.

Abstract

Problem-solving ability is one of the essential competencies in mathematics learning, particularly in algebra. However, in the problem-solving process, students often make errors that indicate difficulties in understanding concepts and determining appropriate solution strategies. This study aims to analyze students' errors in solving algebra problems based on the problem-solving stages proposed by Krulik and Rudnick, which include reading and thinking, exploring and planning, selecting a strategy, finding an answer, and reflecting and extending. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 24 ninth-grade junior high school students. The data were collected through a problem-solving test consisting of five algebra questions and analyzed based on the stages of problem solving. The results indicate that students' problem-solving abilities vary at each stage. A total of 83% of students were able to understand the problem at the read and think stage, 75% were able to plan the solution at the explore and plan stage, and 71% were able to select an appropriate strategy at the select a strategy stage. At the find an answer stage, the success rate decreased to 67% due to procedural errors in algebraic calculations. The lowest level of success occurred at the reflect and extend stage, where only 50% of students rechecked their answers. The dominant errors found include procedural errors in calculations, conceptual errors in understanding algebraic concepts, and difficulties in translating word problems into mathematical models.
