Abstract

The rapid progress of digital technology has profoundly changed various aspects of society, including the field of education. This evolution demands a reevaluation of the fundamental concepts of the curriculum to ensure it remains modern and applicable. This paper aims to explore and assess the process of redesigning essential curriculum principles to address the challenges faced in education within the digital age. It utilizes a literature review of different resources related to curriculum development and the transformation of education in the digital context. The findings indicate that the curriculum in today's digital landscape focuses not only on knowledge acquisition but also on fostering essential 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, innovation, teamwork, and digital literacy. The curriculum needs to be flexible and adaptable, integrating technology into teaching and learning practices. In this reimagining process, educators must act as facilitators and be well-versed in technology. Thus, refreshing the core ideas of the curriculum is a vital initiative to establish an education system that is adaptable, innovative, and capable of developing skilled individuals in the digital age.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) aimed to enhance teachers’ pedagogical competence in designing and implementing instructional strategies for students with special educational needs at MIS NWDI Tebaban. The program was motivated by teachers’ limited readiness in implementing inclusive education, particularly in understanding the characteristics of students with special needs, designing differentiated instruction, and managing inclusive classrooms effectively. The method employed was a needs-based participatory training approach consisting of preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The program was conducted through workshops involving interactive lectures, case discussions, teaching reflection activities, and practical exercises in designing adaptive instructional strategies. The evaluation was carried out through simple pretests and posttests as well as participant observation during the training sessions. The results indicated that more than 80% of teachers showed improved understanding of inclusive education concepts and the characteristics of students with special educational needs. In addition, approximately 75% of teachers were able to design more adaptive and individualized learning strategies, while around 70% demonstrated improved skills in implementing differentiated instruction, utilizing simple assistive media and technology, and managing supportive inclusive classrooms. These findings suggest that structured, participatory, and practice-oriented training effectively improves teachers’ pedagogical competence and supports the implementation of inclusive education in elementary schools.

Abstract

Modern slavery has transformed into human trafficking through debt bondage, digital contracts, and social media recruitment. As many as 33.22% of Indonesian Migrant Workers are high school/vocational school graduates who are vulnerable to exploitation due to limited safe migration literacy and weak moral courage. This study aims to: 1) Analyze the concept of moderate Islamic education from M. Quraish Shihab’s perspective in the book Wasathiyyah; 2) Formulate solutions from that moderate Islamic education for addressing modern slavery.This study employed a library research method with a content analysis approach. The primary source is the book Wasathiyyah: Wawasan Islam tentang Moderasi Beragama by M. Quraish Shihab 2019. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing using the maqashid syariah framework.The results show that the concept of moderate Islamic education is built on three aspects: 1) The aqidah of tawhid liberates individuals from the slave mentality of thama’; 2) Sharia-based fiqh serves as a legal safeguard prohibiting gharar contracts and document withholding; 3) The ethics of i’tidal fosters ghairah as moral courage to report without anarchy. Its actualization is realized through a fiqh curriculum based on case studies of Trafficking in Persons (TIP), a project-based learning method “Recognize Job Scams”, and institutional collaboration with BP2MI and the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA). Challenges to actualization include the lack of competent teachers and the faster adaptation of traffickers’ tactics compared to educational institutions. The novelty of this study lies in the theological-juridical-ethical bridge that positions wasathiyyah as a preventive action curriculum, not merely a discourse.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) supported by a digital comic on emotional intelligence among third-grade students at SDN Dr. Sutomo V/327 Surabaya. The study background reveals students’ low emotional intelligence, evidenced by limited skills in emotion regulation, teamwork, and empathy. Employing a quantitative method with a quasi eksperimental equivalent posttest only control group design. The sample includes 54 students, with 27 students in the experimental class receiving CRT instruction assisted by a digital comic and 27 students in the control class receiving contextual instruction assisted by PowerPoint. The instrument, an emotional intelligence assessment, measures five aspects, namely self awareness, self regulation, self motivation, emphaty, dan social skills. Following normality and homogeneity tests, data analysis via t test yielded significant differences in posttest emotional intelligence scores between experimental and control class (sig. < 0,05). These findings confirm that CRT integrated with a digital comic in the experimental class significantly enchances third grade students emotional intelligence. The study recommends using the CRT approach assisted by a digital comic to develop students’ affective aspects and as an alternative, contextual, engaging, and meaningful teaching strategy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Game-Based Learning (GBL) on students’ mathematical creative thinking skills through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) covering the period 2020–2025. The research employed a qualitative approach with an SLR design, where the data sources consisted of scientific articles obtained from Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and SINTA databases. A total of 13 articles that met the inclusion criteria were systematically analyzed through identification, selection, evaluation, and data synthesis stages. The results indicate that the implementation of GBL generally has a positive impact on students’ mathematical creative thinking skills, as reflected in improvements in creativity indicators such as idea fluency, flexibility in problem-solving, originality, and the ability to generate multiple solution alternatives. In addition, GBL has been proven to enhance students’ motivation, engagement, and interest in learning mathematics. However, the level of improvement varies depending on instructional design, media suitability, as well as student characteristics and learning environments. Other findings reveal that the effectiveness of GBL can be optimized when combined with approaches such as STEM, ethnomathematics, and Challenge-Based Learning. This study contributes theoretically to strengthening constructivist learning concepts and practically as a reference for educators in developing innovative instructional strategies.

Abstract

Perkembangan Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) mulai dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk mendukung kemampuan berpikir matematis peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas GenAI, pengaruhnya terhadap domain kemampuan berpikir matematis, serta faktor yang memengaruhi implementasinya. Penelitian menggunakan metode Systematic Literature Review (SLR) dengan pedoman PRISMA. Pencarian literatur dilakukan melalui Google Scholar, Scopus, SINTA, dan GARUDA pada rentang tahun 2021-2026. Dari 33 artikel yang teridentifikasi, diperoleh 15 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Subjek penelitian meliputi peserta didik SMP, SMA, dan Perguruan Tinggi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan GenAI efektif meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreatif, reflektif, metakognitif, dan pemecahan masalah. Efektivitas implementasi dipengaruhi oleh kualitas prompting, literasi digital, pendampingan guru, dan kesiapan infrastruktur. Namun, penggunaan GenAI juga berpotensi menimbulkan ketergantungan terhadap AI serta risiko ketidakakuratan informasi.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interest of students in learning mathematics, especially in the material of Three Variable Linear Equation Systems (SPLTV), as well as the learning process that is still dominated by conventional methods so that students are less active in learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach to increasing the interest of class X students of SMAN 8 Banda Aceh. The research method used is quantitative research with a one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 32 students of class X IPAS-3. Data collection techniques were carried out through pretest and posttest tests, learning interest questionnaires, and observations during the learning process. The results showed that the average pretest score of students was 45.63 while the average posttest score was 80.94, resulting in an increase of 35.31 points. The results after the questionnaire of student learning interest showed an increase with most students in the high and very high categories of learning application. In addition, the results of observations during three meetings showed an increase in student learning interest from 60% in the first meeting to 84% in the third meeting. The results of the paired t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 so that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach can increase students' interest in learning SPLTV material for class X IPAS-3 SMAN 8 Banda Aceh.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the importance of improving learning quality through understanding a deep learning-based curriculum that emphasizes meaningful learning, critical thinking, and knowledge integration. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of coaching-based academic supervision in improving teachers’ understanding of the deep learning curriculum at MA Nurul Faizah Pasuruan. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects are the principal and teachers. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing with triangulation to ensure validity. The results show that coaching-based academic supervision is implemented through a dialogic, reflective, and collaborative approach involving goal setting, understanding real conditions, exploring solutions, and commitment to action. This approach enhances teachers’ understanding of deep learning concepts, encourages reflection, and improves teaching practices continuously. Despite challenges such as limited time and workload, this approach remains effective in fostering a professional and adaptive learning culture oriented toward improving educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development, trends, and contributions of research in mathematics education through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The method used in this study is the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA), which was conducted systematically, structurally, and transparently. The subjects of this study were scientific articles published in nationally accredited journals indexed by SINTA 1 to SINTA 4 as well as internationally reputable Scopus indexed journals relevant to mathematics education, particularly those discussing the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model and students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. Data were collected through searches on Google Scholar, SINTA, and Scopus databases using keywords such as “Problem Based Learning,” “mathematical problem-solving ability,” and “PBL in mathematics education.” The PRISMA stages included identification, screening, eligibility, and included processes to obtain articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The analyzed articles were published between 2019 to 2025 and were relevant to the focus of the study. Data analysis was carried out descriptively and qualitatively by classifying articles based on research themes, methods used, and their contributions to mathematics learning. The findings revealed an increasing number of mathematics education publications in SINTA and Scopus indexed journals, focusing mainly on innovative learning models, technology integration in learning, and the improvement of students’ critical thinking and mathematical problem solving skills. Most studies employed quantitative and mixed method approaches. These findings provide a comprehensive overview of the direction of mathematics education research development in Indonesia and may serve as a reference for researchers and educators in developing more innovative, effective, and relevant studies to meet the demands of 21st century learning.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Genre-Based Approach (GBA) in fostering deep learning within the Merdeka Curriculum, a crucial topic because although the GBA is formally recommended, many teachers still face challenges in effectively applying it to achieve depth of understanding in the classroom. This study aims to explore teachers’ perceptions and challenges regarding the integration of these two concepts through a qualitative case study design, in which data were collected via semi-structured interviews and observations of two English teachers at the junior high and senior high school levels in Garut. The findings reveal that teachers hold positive perceptions and view GBA as a systematic framework capable of supporting students’ deep understanding through a learning process that is meaningful, mindful, and joyful. Teachers believe that the GBA cycle stages are highly effective in helping students master the material progressively. However, the main challenges identified relate to time management and the diversity of students’ abilities, which hinder the implementation of all GBA stages in their entirety within a single class session. In conclusion, GBA holds great potential for supporting deep learning, but its effectiveness is highly dependent on practical classroom conditions and on-the-ground implementation support.
