Abstract

This study aims to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes on alternative energy material through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model for 5th-grade students at SD Inpres Kapasa. The background of this study is the low learning outcomes caused by conventional teaching methods and lack of active student engagement in solving contextual problems. This study is Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model conducted in two cycles, involving planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subjects were 16 students. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation. The results showed that in cycle I, the students' average score was 63.4 with 56.2% classical mastery. After improvements in cycle II, the average score increased to 91.2 with 93.7% classical mastery. It can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning model is effective in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes in science on alternative energy material in 5th grade at SD Inpres Kapasa.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the suboptimal delivery of institutional information by the Regional Secretariat of Bogor City, particularly in utilizing engaging and communicative audiovisual media in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the editing process of a company profile video, examine the application of montage editing techniques based on Eisenstein’s theory, and evaluate its effectiveness through Instagram Reels. The study employs a practice-based approach with a project-based method, carried out collaboratively by a production team through systematic stages with continuous evaluation. The results show that montage editing is able to create a dynamic visual flow, clarify narrative structure, and enhance information delivery through integrated visual and audio elements. Furthermore, distribution via Instagram Reels increases audience reach and user engagement. In conclusion, montage editing proves effective in delivering concise, engaging, and easily understood institutional information while strengthening the organization’s image in digital media.

Abstract

The company profile video project of the Regional Secretariat of Bogor City was carried out as a medium for delivering institutional information to the public through audiovisual media. The company profile video was used to present the institutional profile in a clear and structured manner. This project aims to explain the scriptwriting process, the application of visual storytelling techniques, and the effectiveness of the company profile video through Instagram Reels. The method used was a practice-based approach through pre-production, production, and post-production stages focusing on scriptwriting. The scriptwriting process included research, brainstorming, writing, and revision while considering the suitability between narration and visuals. The application of visual storytelling techniques used Caputo’s theory (2003), including clarity, realism, dynamism, continuity, and intuity. The effectiveness of the video was analyzed descriptively through partner assessment and Instagram insights from @setda_kotabogor.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach assisted by claw card media on students’ numeracy skills in learning the volume of three-dimensional figures at MI Nurul Islam. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling involving two classes, namely an experimental class consisting of 24 students taught using the RME approach assisted by claw card media and a control class consisting of 24 students taught using the jigsaw-type cooperative learning approach. Data were collected using an essay test comprising ten questions to measure students’ numeracy skills. The data were analyzed using an Independent Samples t-test. The results showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H₁) was accepted. These findings indicate that the RME approach assisted by claw card media has a significant positive effect on students’ numeracy skills in learning the volume of three-dimensional figures. The study implies that the integration of contextual learning approaches with concrete instructional media can enhance students’ conceptual understanding and numeracy skills in mathematics learning

Abstract

This project is motivated by the need to optimize public communication media at the Regional Secretariat of Bogor City, particularly due to the absence of a company profile video that can deliver information clearly, attractively, and in an easily understandable. This study aims to examine the directing process as well as the application of the Technique 5C Cinematography technique and Auteur. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach pre-production, production, and post-production. Implementation of the Technique 5C Cinematography is able to produce more structured visuals and support the flow of information delivery, while Auteur Theory provides consistency in visual style that strengthens the identity of the work. Video result is presents information audiovisually to the characteristics of digital media. Therefore, the application of well-planned directing techniques plays an important role in improving the quality and effectiveness of a company profile video as an institutional communication medium

Abstract

This study was conducted because students’ level of interest in participating in the assessment process during learning is relatively low. Traditional assessment methods with little variation cause students to quickly become bored. The objective of this study is to develop an evaluation medium based on gamification through the Educaplay website, while also evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness of this medium in increasing students’ interest in learning the IPAS subject for fifth-grade elementary school students. The method applied is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which includes the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The participants in this study were fifth-grade students from SD Negeri 067259 in Medan. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and questionnaires covering expert validation, teacher feedback, student responses, and students’ level of interest in learning. The research findings indicate that the media received a validation score of 94% from subject matter experts and 91% from evaluation experts, which falls into the “highly acceptable” category. Feedback from teachers reached 95% and student responses were 88%, which are also classified as highly acceptable. Additionally, the results of the pretest and posttest showed an increase in student learning interest from 45% to 90%. Thus, gamification-based assessment media using Educaplay is considered effective in increasing student learning interest and can serve as an innovative alternative for learning assessment at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) learning model on the ability to write descriptive texts of sixth-grade students of UPTD SDN 8 Barru. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design type. The research sample consisted of 20 students selected using purposive sampling due to the limited number of classes at the research location. Data collection techniques were carried out through writing tests (pretest and posttest) assessed with a standard rubric. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics as well as Paired Sample t-test and Independent Sample t-test. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class (90.4) was significantly higher than the control class (81.5) with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. It was concluded that the TTW model had a significant effect on improving students' writing abilities because it facilitated cognitive processes gradually through the stages of thinking, discussing, and writing. The limited number of samples showed that the results of this study were contextual.

Abstract

Generasi muda saat ini menghadapi tantangan moral yang semakin kompleks akibat paparan budaya hedonisme yang diperkuat oleh intensitas penggunaan media sosial dan ekosistem digital. Kecenderungan mengutamakan kesenangan instan berdampak pada melemahnya tanggung jawab sosial, rendahnya etos belajar, dan berkurangnya kepekaan moral peserta didik. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak hedonisme terhadap perilaku generasi muda, menguraikan pentingnya pendidikan berbasis etika sebagai respons yang sistemik, serta memberikan model implementasi konkret di lingkungan sekolah dan keluarga. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi literatur. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan etika yang dirancang secara sistematis melalui tiga dimensi moral knowing, moral feeling, dan moral action serta didukung oleh keteladanan guru, integrasi kearifan lokal, literasi digital kritis, dan kolaborasi antara sekolah dan orang tua, terbukti mampu memperkuat disiplin diri dan membentuk karakter peserta didik yang berintegritas. Pendidikan berbasis etika dapat berfungsi sebagai strategi preventif sekaligus korektif dalam menghadapi dampak negatif hedonisme, serta menjadi fondasi utama dalam menciptakan generasi muda yang bertanggung jawab, berempati, dan berkontribusi positif bagi kehidupan bermasyarakat dan bernegara.

Abstract

Mathematical conceptual understanding is a student's ability to grasp the meaning of a mathematical concept, explain it further, relate it to other concepts, and apply it in various situations. Elementary school students' low mathematical conceptual understanding is a significant problem in mathematics learning. This study aims to determine the effect of the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectual) learning model, assisted by a geoboard, on elementary school students' mathematical conceptual understanding. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method involving two groups: the experimental group (N = 27) who received instruction using the SAVI model assisted by a geoboard, and the control group (N = 24) who followed conventional teaching methods. The non-equivalent control group design used a cluster sampling technique, with a multiple-choice test as the instrument. The results showed that the average pretest score for the experimental class was 52.59 and the control class 53.75. After the treatment, the average posttest score for the experimental class increased to 84.44, while the control class's score was 61.88. The results of the Independent Sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant effect. Thus, the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, Intellectual) learning model assisted by geoboards has a positive effect on improving elementary school students' understanding of mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology have brought new developments in the practice of Do-It-Yourself (DIY) music production, enabling independent musicians to independently create, record, process, and distribute their work through online media. This paper examines DIY music production, utilizing local sounds as a source of creative inspiration, connecting modern technology with cultural identity. A variety of local sounds, such as traditional instruments, environmental sounds, and everyday atmospheres, are processed through sampling, field recording, audio editing, and sound design techniques to produce distinctive musical colors. DIY music production practices not only reflect artistic independence but also serve as a medium for cultural revitalization through the combination of traditional and electronic elements in hybrid compositions. On the other hand, the presence of digital platforms opens up broader opportunities for the distribution of works, online collaboration, and the strengthening of independent music community networks. However, this practice still faces various challenges, such as technical limitations, issues of cultural ethics, and the potential commodification of tradition. Therefore, a critical approach and respect for cultural values ​​are needed so that DIY music production based on local sounds can become a space for artistic innovation and an effort to preserve culture in the digital era.
