Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of green practice in supporting environmental sustainability at Roosterfish Beach Club, Badung, Bali, examined through three dimensions, namely green action, green food, and green donation. This research is motivated by the increasing volume of waste and environmental pressure resulting from tourism growth in Bali, as well as the limited number of studies on green practice implementation at beach clubs in tropical coastal areas. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving four informants, namely the manager, sous chef, engineering team, and styling supervisor. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was tested through source, technique, and time triangulation. The results show that green action has been implemented across five indicators, with the strongest achievements in waste sorting and waste management, supported by automatic timer systems, LED lighting, and electricity consumption consistently below the contract limit, although energy and water efficiency still rely on manual supervision. Green food is strongly implemented through the use of local ingredients that account for the majority of purchasing value, certified organic products, supply chain carbon footprint reduction through centralized distribution, and the application of zero waste principles and a bottomless brunch system that effectively reduces food waste. Green donation is realized through coral planting integrated with the Sunday Brunch, beach clean-up, and mangrove planting, as well as partnerships with local communities such as Pandawa Management and BUMDA of Kutuh Village, which not only support the sustainable management of coastal waste but also bring a positive impact on the empowerment of the local community. Overall, the three dimensions of green practice are proven to contribute to environmental sustainability, in line with the Sustainability Index achievement of 71% on the Balanced Scorecard, which is categorized as good and falls only marginally short of the K-category target (above 72%); thus, strengthening the automation of energy and water monitoring as well as the elimination of plastic use can potentially bring this achievement beyond the ideal target.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the instability of sales revenue and the high number of reservation cancellations at Kubu at Mandapa Restaurant, Bali, indicating that not all menu items contribute optimally to the restaurant's profitability. The Ubud area recorded 265 restaurants in 2024, making it the most competitive culinary district in Gianyar Regency, requiring every restaurant to maintain an effective menu management strategy. This study aims to analyze the popularity index, contribution margin, and menu classification based on menu engineering, as well as to formulate profitability improvement strategies at Kubu at Mandapa Restaurant. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach, with primary and secondary data collected through sales data for the period of January to December 2025, selling prices, and food cost data obtained via documentation, unstructured interviews, and participant observation. The analytical methods used include menu mix percentage analysis, contribution margin analysis, menu engineering worksheet analysis, and menu engineering-based profitability improvement strategy analysis. Based on the analysis of 21 menu items over a one-year period, menus were classified into 4 categories: 19.05% or 4 items as Star, 38.10% or 8 items as Plowhorse, 9.52% or 2 items as Puzzle, and 33.33% or 7 items as Dog. Star category menus are maintained by preserving consistency in taste, ingredient quality, portion size, and presentation standards, as well as by positioning them as flagship items in the restaurant's promotion. Plowhorse category menus are modified through raw material cost efficiency, recipe and portion adjustment, and gradual, selective selling price review. Puzzle category menus are enhanced through suggestive selling, storytelling, and repositioning within the menu list. Dog category menus are critically evaluated through recipe modification, repositioning, integration into set menus, or r

Abstract

The growing awareness of environmental issues has driven the restaurant industry to adopt environmentally friendly practices, commonly referred to as green practice, as part of a sustainable operational strategy. This study aims to analyze the influence of green practice implementation—comprising the dimensions of green action, green food, and green donation—on consumer visit decisions at Shanti Kitchen & Coffee, Jakarta. This study employs a quantitative approach with a descriptive and associative research design. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to 90 respondents selected via accidental sampling from a population of 800 visitors to Shanti Kitchen & Coffee during the period of January to December 2025. The research instrument was developed using a four-point Likert scale. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied using SPSS version 25, encompassing validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, and hypothesis testing through t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination. The findings indicate that, partially, only the green food dimension exerts a significant influence on visit decisions (t-value 3.374 sig 0.001 < 0.05), while green action (sig 0.056) and green donation (sig 0.519) do not demonstrate significant partial effects. Simultaneously, the green practice variable as a whole significantly influences visit decisions (F-value 9.82 sig 0.000 < 0.05). The Adjusted R Square value of 0.229 indicates that green practice explains 22.9% of the variation in visit decisions, with the remaining 77.1% attributed to factors outside the scope of this study. This study offers practical implications for the restaurant industry, particularly in optimizing green food as the most influential factor in consumer visit decisions. Restaurants are advised to strengthen communication regarding the use of organic and locally sourced ingredients, enhance the visibility of green action practices, and broaden green donation programs through active consumer engagement. Future research is encouraged to expand the scope of variables and study objects to yield more comprehensive findings.

Abstract

Learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in eclipse prayer material not only requires mastery of concepts, but also competence in worship practices. However, learning in pesantren-based madrassas is still dominated by the use of fiqh books and teachers' explanations, so that practical demonstrations have not taken place optimally. This research aims to develop teaching materials for Islamic Religious Education based on videos on eclipse prayer procedures using the ADDIE model to improve the competence of students' worship practices at MTs Miftahul Amin Pamekasan. The research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model which includes the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and practical tests, then analyzed descriptively using the percentage of feasibility and comparison of practice results before and after learning. The results of the study showed that the products developed met the valid category based on the assessment of material experts with an average percentage of 82.5% and media experts of 81.6%. The implementation of teaching materials showed an increase in the competence of students' worship practices with an increase in the average score from 64.2 before learning to 86.8 after learning. Improvements occurred in all aspects of assessment, including the accuracy of intentions, movements, readings, the order of implementation, and the conformity of practice with the provisions of fiqh. The novelty of this research lies in the development of teaching materials that integrate fiqh materials based on the Book of Fathul Qorib, demonstration videos, exercises, and evaluations in one learning product designed according to the characteristics of pesantren-based madrasas. These findings show that the integration of digital teaching materials with the tradition of learning the book is able to improve the quality of learning of worship practices without eliminating the characteristics of pesantren education.

Abstract

Social Studies instruction in the Olympiad-track class presents different challenges compared to other specialized classes. Based on initial observations, Social Studies lessons in the class felt rigid and lacked vitality. Although the students were compliant, completed their assignments well, and participated in the lessons in a positive manner, The classroom atmosphere felt lacking in enthusiasm, monotonous, and characterized by low emotional engagement. The purpose of this study is to describe students’ responses to the implementation of gamified quizzes in social studies instruction in an 8th-grade Olympiad-track class and to identify the obstacles that arise during implementation. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach using a one-shot case study design. The research subjects consisted of 30 eighth-grade students. Data were collected through a questionnaire using a four-point Likert scale covering the following response aspects: cognitive, affective, conative, and technical. The results show that student responses to the use of gamified quizzes in social studies instruction in the Olympiad-track class were 85.6% for the cognitive aspect, 86.5% for the affective aspect, and 82.7% for the conative aspect. However, the technical aspect only reached 60%, which falls into the “fair” category. This was due to network issues and lag experienced by some students. Overall, the average score across all these aspects fell into the “positive” category, with a percentage of 78.8%. The findings of this study indicate that Blooket gamified quizzes have the potential to serve as a more effective and enjoyable medium for social studies learning; however, attention must be paid to network connectivity and the selection of appropriate game modes. This study contributes to gamification strategies in highly competitive classrooms and highlights the importance of technical aspects in the implementation of digital game-based learning.
