Abstract

This study aimed to describe the implementation of the peer-review model in developing students’ skills in writing observation report texts at SD Negeri 109/II Desa Manggis. The study was motivated by the low level of students’ writing skills, particularly in generating ideas, organizing sentences systematically, selecting appropriate vocabulary, and applying proper language conventions in writing observation report texts. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive qualitative design. The research participants consisted of teachers and students involved in learning activities related to writing observation report texts. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that students’ writing skills still required intensive guidance, especially in idea development and vocabulary use. The implementation of the peer-review model was carried out through several stages, including teacher instruction, writing activities, exchanging written work among students, providing feedback by peers, and reinforcement from the teacher. Students generally showed positive responses toward the peer-review model, as reflected in their enthusiasm and active participation during the learning process. The peer-review model was found to improve the quality of students’ writing through revision processes based on feedback from both peers and teachers. In addition, the model enhanced students’ learning motivation, self-confidence, critical thinking skills, and collaborative abilities. The challenges encountered during the implementation included limited vocabulary, low reading interest, and differences in students’ writing abilities. These challenges were addressed through collaborative learning and continuous support from teachers and peers. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the peer-review model had a positive impact on students’ observation report writing skills and can serve as an effective alternative teaching strategy for improving writing literacy at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the influence of the "Batik" pop-up book learning media on students' learning motivation in Grade IV Mathematics at SD Islam Al-Ikhlas Karangrejo, Tulungagung. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically utilizing the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The research population consisted of all fourth-grade students at SD Islam Al-Ikhlas Karangrejo, divided into classes IV A and IV B. Data collection techniques included questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing via the Independent Sample T-Test. The results indicated that the instrument used was valid and reliable, with a Cronbach's Alpha value > 0.80. The normality test showed that the data were normally distributed, and the homogeneity test confirmed that the data were homogeneous. Hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-Test yielded a significance value of $p < 0.001$, which signifies that there was a significant influence of using the "Batik" pop-up book learning media on students' learning motivation. The utilization of engaging, enjoyable, and easy-to-understand pop-up book learning media was proven to foster students' interest and enthusiasm for learning, particularly in Mathematics.

Abstract

The development of digital technology in education has encouraged teachers to utilize interactive learning media to enhance students' learning motivation. One of the digital learning media that has recently become popular in elementary schools is the Smartboard. However, the successful implementation of this technology largely depends on teachers' perceptions and experiences in using it during the teaching and learning process. This study aims to describe teachers' perceptions of the use of Smartboard and its influence on students' learning motivation in Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in the upper grades of SD Negeri 1 Losari Lor, Cirebon Regency. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving upper-grade teachers and students as the research participants. The data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that teachers have positive perceptions of the use of Smartboard in IPAS learning. Smartboard is considered capable of presenting learning materials in a more interactive, engaging, and concrete manner. Its use also increases students' attention, participation, enthusiasm, and learning motivation during the learning process. Although several challenges were encountered, such as limited facilities, unstable internet connections, and other technical issues, Smartboard remains an effective learning medium for supporting the learning process and enhancing students' learning motivation.

Abstract

The professionalism of Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers is commonly understood within the framework of technical and academic competence. However, the effectiveness of counseling services in schools also depends on the continuously developing personal quality of the counselor, a dimension that has not received adequate attention in the discourse on the professional development of BK teachers in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze how personal development contributes to the professionalism of BK teachers in counseling services at senior high schools (SMA), while also identifying the challenges faced by BK teachers in carrying out their services. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Six BK teachers from public and private senior high schools across Lombok Timur Regency, members of the Guidance and Counseling Teacher Forum (MGBK) of SMA Lombok Timur, were selected as informants through purposive sampling. Data were collected through semi-structured written interviews complemented by field notes from observations of MGBK activities. Data were analyzed descriptively-qualitatively through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that all informants have been involved in various forms of self-development, such as training, workshops, technical guidance, supervision, and active participation in the MGBK forum. This self-development had a positive impact on three aspects of BK teachers' professionalism, namely increased professional self-awareness, strengthened interpersonal competence, and reinforced professional integrity and ethics. On the other hand, BK teachers face a number of structural challenges, including misconceptions about the role of BK teachers among school members, student-to-counselor ratios far exceeding the ideal standard, high administrative burdens, the complexity of students' problems, and the demand to adapt to digital technology. This study confirms that counselors' personal development is an important foundation that sustains the quality of BK services, and that the MGBK forum plays a strategic role as a venue for the sustainable professional development of BK teachers in the region.

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah kurangnya kemampuan Tendangan Lurus pada atlet PPS PKDP Indonesia Kota Bukittinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat hubungan antara Daya Ledak Otot Tungkai dan Keseimbangan terhadap Kemampuan Tendangan Lurus Atlet PPS PKDP Indonesia Kota Bukittinggi. Jenis Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan korelasional. Populasi penelitian adalah 30 orang atlet PPS PKDP Indonesia Kota Bukittinggi. Teknik penarikan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, Jumlah sampel 14 orang atlet Putri Perguruan Pencak silat Persatuan Keluarga Daerah Pariaman (PPS PKDP) Indonesia Kota Bukittinggi. Instrumen yang digunakan menggunakan tes Standing Broad Jump, tes stroke stand, tes Tendangan Lurus. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis korelasi sederhana dan korelasi ganda. Berdasarkan dari hasil penelitian yang diperoleh 1) Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara daya ledak otot tungkai dengan kemampuan tendangan lurus pada atlet Perguruan Pencak Silat Persatuan Keluarga Daerah Pariaman (PPS PKDP) Indonesia Kota Bukittinggi. 2) Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara keseimbangan dengan kemampuan tendangan lurus pada atlet Perguruan Pencak Silat Persatuan Keluarga Daerah Pariaman (PPS PKDP) Indonesia Kota Bukittinggi. 3) Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan anatara daya ledak otot tungkai dan keseimbangan dengan kemampuan tendangan lurus pada atlet Perguruan Pencak Silat Persatuan Keluarga Daerah Pariaman (PPS PKDP) Indonesia Kota Bukittinggi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pengajaran Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan (PJOK) pada jam siang hari dalam kondisi cuaca panas berdasarkan persepsi siswa dalam konteks iklim tropis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain survei deskriptif. Sampel terdiri dari 102 siswa kelas 10 di SMK Negeri 11 Malang, yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner skala Likert yang telah divalidasi yang mencakup enam indikator: gejala fisiologis, termoregulasi, kelelahan otot, dorongan psikologis, fokus dan perhatian, serta hambatan belajar. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, termasuk mean, standar deviasi, dan distribusi frekuensi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pengajaran PJOK siang hari dalam kondisi cuaca panas secara signifikan berdampak pada kondisi fisiologis dan psikologis siswa. Siswa mengalami peningkatan suhu tubuh, kelelahan fisik, keringat berlebih, penurunan konsentrasi, dan penurunan motivasi. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada pemeriksaan simultan aspek fisiologis, psikologis, dan efektivitas pembelajaran pengajaran PJOK di lingkungan luar ruangan tropis. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi praktis bagi guru PJOK dan administrator sekolah terkait penjadwalan pelajaran dan strategi pengajaran adaptif untuk memastikan pembelajaran di luar ruangan yang lebih aman dan efektif.

Abstract

Communication skills are among the essential competencies required in the twenty-first century, particularly for learners participating in non-formal education programs. However, many learners at PKBM Kurnia Foundation still experience difficulties in expressing ideas, speaking confidently, and communicating effectively in public. This study aimed to determine the influence of podcast training on the communication skills of learners at PKBM Kurnia Foundation. The research employed a quantitative approach using a causal survey design. The population consisted of 25 learners who participated in the podcast training program, and all participants were selected as the research sample using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through validated and reliable questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality testing, simple linear regression, t-test, and coefficient of determination with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics. The findings indicate that podcast training has a positive and significant influence on learners' communication skills. The regression analysis produced a regression coefficient of 2.299 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), while the t-test result showed tcount = 13.269 > ttable = 2.069. Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.884, indicating that podcast training contributed 88.4% to the improvement of communication skills, whereas the remaining 11.6% was influenced by other variables outside this study. Therefore, podcast training can be considered an effective learning strategy for improving communication skills in non-formal education

Abstract

Mental health stigma remains a significant issue in the contemporary era, contributing to low public awareness and inadequate responses to mental health problems. As the primary environment for child development, the family plays an essential role in shaping children's perceptions of mental health through parenting practices. This study aims to analyze the concept of Islamic parenting presented in Zakiah Daradjat’s book Ilmu Jiwa Agama and examine its relevance in addressing mental health stigma in the contemporary era. This research employed a qualitative approach using library research. Primary data were obtained from Zakiah Daradjat’s Ilmu Jiwa Agama, while secondary data were collected from books, journals, articles, and other relevant scholarly works. Data were gathered through documentation and literature review and analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicate that Islamic parenting according to Zakiah Daradjat emphasizes affection, exemplary behavior, religious education, emotional security, and empathetic approaches in child-rearing. These principles are relevant to addressing mental health stigma by fostering emotional literacy, reducing judgmental attitudes toward individuals experiencing psychological problems, and strengthening mental resilience based on Islamic values. Therefore, Islamic parenting can serve as an effective approach to promoting mental well-being and reducing mental health stigma in contemporary society.

Abstract

This study aims to examine conflict management in educational supervision through a qualitative approach using the library research method. Conflict in educational supervision is an inevitable phenomenon arising from differences in interests, competencies, values, and authoritative positions between supervisors and teachers. This study identifies five common conflict typologies in the supervisory context, namely interpersonal, structural, value, interest, and role conflict. The causative factors are grouped into two dimensions: internal factors including ineffective communication, competency differences, and procedural ambiguity, and external factors such as policy pressures, resource limitations, and unconducive group dynamics. The findings indicate that the collaborating model is the most effective approach in managing supervisory conflicts, whose implementation should be integrated within a humanistic supervision paradigm based on dialogic communication, institutional mediation, supervisor capacity development, and sustainable preventive conflict management mechanisms in order to realize high-quality and dignified educational supervision.

Abstract

Advances in digital technology in elementary education encourage the use of creative, interactive learning media that align with students' needs. One widely developed medium is digital comics, which combine text, illustrations, color, and storylines in an easy-to-understand visual display. This study aims to examine the role of digital comics in supporting visual learning and strengthening the character of elementary school students. The method used was a literature review with a descriptive analytical approach. Data were obtained through a review of ten scientific articles from the 2022–2026 period selected based on inclusion criteria. These criteria included empirical research on the use of digital comics in elementary education, while articles that did not align with the focus of the study were eliminated. Data analysis techniques used were content analysis and thematic synthesis. Students' conceptual understanding, motivation, participation, literacy skills, and independent learning can be improved through the use of digital comics. In addition, digital comics also support character building by instilling the values ​​of honesty, responsibility, cooperation, discipline, and environmental awareness presented in contextual and engaging stories. The novelty of this study lies in the integrative synthesis that combines various findings regarding the role of digital comics in supporting the knowledge and attitudes of elementary school students.
