Abstract

The analytical ability of students in IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) learning at the elementary school level is still relatively low. This is due to the use of teacher-centered learning models and the lack of technology-based learning media that can effectively visualize abstract concepts. Therefore, an innovative learning model is needed to actively engage students in meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to determine the effect of the Guided Inquiry Learning model assisted by Augmented Reality on students' analytical skills in IPAS learning for fourth-grade elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative method with a post-test only control group design. The population consisted of all fourth-grade students of SDN Ngagelrejo I/396 Surabaya in the 2025/2026 academic year, totaling 49 students. The sample was selected using cluster random sampling, resulting in two classes: class IV-B as the control group (25 students) and class IV-G as the experimental group (24 students). Data collection was conducted using analytical ability tests in the form of multiple-choice and essay questions. Data analysis techniques included normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample T-Test with SPSS version 26. The results showed that there was a significant effect of the Guided Inquiry Learning model assisted by Augmented Reality on students’ analytical skills. Students in the experimental class demonstrated better analytical abilities compared to those in the control class. Therefore, this learning model can be considered an effective alternative to improve students' analytical skills in IPAS learning at the elementary school level. Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Gallery Walk method in poetry writing for eighth-grade students at Nur Azizi Junior High School, Tanjung Morawa. The research method used descriptive qualitative methods. The subjects included eighth-grade Indonesian language teachers and eighth-grade students, while the object of the study was the social situation during the implementation of the method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation techniques, which were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results showed that the implementation of the Gallery Walk method was carried out systematically through the planning and implementation stages of learning. In the planning stage, teachers developed teaching modules, prepared learning materials, and arranged time allocation for activities. In the implementation stage, learning took place in line with the Gallery Walk syntax, which included dividing students into heterogeneous groups, providing worksheets and assignments, determining themes, group discussions with teacher guidance, displaying work, visiting work to observe other groups, asking questions and responding, presentations by spokespersons, joint corrections, and clarification and conclusion of learning. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in implementing innovative learning methods and for future researchers in studying the implementation of Indonesian language learning.

Abstract

Pumice is a silica-rich volcanic product that provides important information on magma characteristics and petrogenetic processes. This study aims to characterize the major and trace element geochemistry of Pumice from the Maninjau Caldera, West Sumatra. Pumice samples were analyzed to determine their major and trace element compositions and interpreted based on magma geochemistry. The results show that the Pumice is dominated by SiO₂ (75.33%) and Al₂O₃ (17.46%), whereas K₂O, Fe₂O₃, CaO, and TiO₂ occur in lower concentrations. Trace elements are dominated by Th, Rb, and Sr, while Zr, Y, and Nb occur in relatively low amounts. These geochemical characteristics indicate that the Pumice originated from felsic magma with rhyolitic to dacitic composition that experienced advanced magmatic differentiation through crystal fractionation, particularly of plagioclase. This study demonstrates that pXRF is an effective, rapid, efficient, and non-destructive method for preliminary geochemical characterization of volcanic rocks.

Abstract

Mathematical conceptual understanding is one of the primary objectives of mathematics learning; however, it remains a significant challenge in education. The 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) revealed that Indonesian students' mathematical literacy achievement was still below the average of OECD member countries. A similar condition was found among fourth-grade students at SDN Gandasoli, where only 40% of the students achieved the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM) in the topic of integers. The low level of conceptual understanding was presumed to result from learning activities that did not consistently provide opportunities for students to think independently, discuss with peers, and share ideas systematically, as well as the limited use of varied instructional media. This study aimed to determine students' conceptual understanding before and after the implementation of the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model assisted by animated videos and to examine its effect on students' conceptual understanding. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The sample consisted of 50 students, including 25 students in the experimental class and 25 students in the control class. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, and the Independent Samples t-test. The findings indicated that the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model assisted by animated videos had a significant effect on improving students' conceptual understanding of integers, with a significance value of 0.034 (< 0.05), a t-value of 2.179 (> 2.01), and an effect size of 0.759, indicating a moderate effect.

Abstract

This article discusses educational management strategies for optimizing pedagogical deep learning at SDN Pemaron 01 within the Merdeka Belajar framework. The analysis focuses on the need for deeper student understanding, contextual learning, teacher readiness, and continuous assessment and feedback. Using a qualitative-conceptual approach based on document review and recent literature, this article argues that deep learning must be managed through an integrated cycle: needs-based planning, organization of school resources, active and reflective classroom implementation, evidence-based monitoring and evaluation, and follow-up improvement. The findings indicate that the most relevant strategies for SDN Pemaron 01 are strengthening teacher learning communities, developing contextual teaching modules, integrating formative assessment, implementing reflective academic supervision, and involving parents in supporting a learning culture. Therefore, deep learning can bridge the Merdeka Belajar policy and classroom practices that are more meaningful, mindful, joyful, and impactful for students' character and competencies.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the dominant use of local languages in students' daily lives, which is suspected to affect their Indonesian language learning. The research is important because Indonesian serves as the language of instruction in education and plays a significant role in supporting students' academic success. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of local language use on students' difficulties in learning Indonesian at SMP Negeri 31 Takengon. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, documentation, and tests as data collection techniques. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that local languages remain dominant in family and community environments. Their impact can be seen in limited vocabulary mastery, difficulties in reading comprehension, difficulties in distinguishing synonyms and antonyms, as well as the occurrence of code-mixing and language interference. In addition, low reading interest and environmental factors also influence students' language abilities. Therefore, the habituation of proper Indonesian language use and the strengthening of literacy culture are needed to improve students' language proficiency.
