Abstract

This study aimed to examine the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PJBL) model, to identify students' creativity levels before and after the implementation of PJBL, and to analyze the effect of PJBL on students' creativity in the Entrepreneurship subject at SMK Kansai Pekanbaru. A quantitative approach was used with a quasi-experimental method and a Nonequivalent Control Group Design, involving 22 students in the experimental class and 18 students in the control class. Data were collected using a 30-item creativity questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, and an Independent Samples t-test using SPSS 26. PJBL was implemented through six stages: determining the essential question, designing the project plan, creating the schedule, monitoring the project, assessing the outcome, and evaluating the experience; students individually created promotional media using the Canva application. The results showed that the average creativity score of the experimental class increased from 123.32 (pretest) to 135.82 (posttest), a gain of 12.50 points, while the control class decreased from 122.50 to 120.00, a decline of 2.50 points. The Independent Samples t-test yielded t = 5.225 with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and a Mean Difference of 15.000. Thus, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted, indicating that the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model had a significant effect on students' creativity in the Entrepreneurship subject at SMK Kansai Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of the peer tutoring method in improving the Quran reading skills of Grade VII.1 students at SMP YP PGRI Disamakan Makassar. The research aims to: (1) determine the effectiveness of the peer tutoring method in enhancing students' Quran reading skills; (2) describe the implementation of instruction using the peer tutoring method; and (3) identify the facilitating and inhibiting factors in applying the peer tutoring method to improve students' Quran reading skills. The study employs a mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design, involving the collection and analysis of quantitative data followed by qualitative data. The research subjects consisted of 32 Grade VII.1 students and one Islamic Religious Education teacher. Data collection techniques included tests, interviews, observations, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using the N-Gain test, while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively. The results indicate that the application of the peer tutoring method can improve students' Quran reading skills. This is evidenced by the increase in the average score from 73.03 in the pretest to 84.12 in the posttest. The N-Gain test yielded an average score of 0.43 (or 43.43%), falling into the "medium" category and indicating that the peer tutoring method is reasonably effective. Thus, the peer tutoring method has a positive impact on improving students' Quran reading skills and can serve as an effective alternative teaching method to support the enhancement of Quran reading proficiency in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the legal conformity of the 6-Pillar System implemented by PT Melia Sehat Sejahtera in Sumenep Regency against the provisions of Law No. 8 of 1999 regarding Consumer Protection. The research adopts an empirical legal approach, combining normative legal analysis with field observations and in-depth interviews with members, consumers, and network leaders. The findings indicate that members hold a dual status as both consumers and business actors, entitling them to legal protection while also imposing corresponding obligations. From the six pillars analyzed, only one pillar concerning product distribution fully conforms to statutory requirements. The remaining five pillars show significant gaps between corporate claims and actual practice, particularly regarding information completeness, transparency, accessibility of support services, and product return mechanisms. Marketing presentations tend to emphasize potential income without balanced explanation of risks, which may violate the consumer’s right to accurate, clear, and honest information under Article 4 and Article 7 of Law No. 8 of 1999. It is concluded that formal legality and written policies alone are insufficient; protection must be measured by the quality of information actually conveyed and the fairness of practices experienced by consumers in the field.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes and limited student engagement observed in the Grade V class at SD GMIM 1 Woloan regarding the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject, specifically the topic of Earth's structural layers. The primary objective was to enhance the quality of learning outcomes and active student participation through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), adapting the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model, which comprises four key stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were all 26 students in the Grade V class at SD GMIM 1 Woloan. Data collection involved direct observation to monitor instructional activities and formative tests—administered via worksheets—to measure students' academic achievement. The results demonstrated significant improvement across each action cycle. Teacher performance in classroom management rose from 77.5% (good category) in Cycle I to 91.25% (excellent category) in Cycle II. Concurrently, the student engagement index surged from 72.7% (fair category) to 87.5% (excellent category). This improvement positively impacted learning outcomes; the average score rose from 61.92% (with a classical mastery rate of 53.84%) in Cycle I to 80.56% (with a classical mastery rate of 88.46%) in Cycle II. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that implementing the Problem-Based Learning model is effective in enhancing student engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes in IPAS at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Scientific literacy and creativity are essential competencies in biology learning, yet previous evidence from Taliabu Island indicates that both remain at moderate levels and are strongly shaped by external learning conditions. This study developed an AI-STEM Virtual Lab adapted to the characteristics of an island region and examined its feasibility and effectiveness. The study combined product development, expert validation, and a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control-group design involving 62 students (31 experimental; 31 control). Scientific literacy and creativity were measured using 15-item four-point Likert instruments, while media feasibility was assessed by two experts using 48 indicators. The corrected expert-validation score was 88.75%, indicating very high feasibility with minor revisions. Reliability coefficients ranged from 0.805 to 0.906. Wilcoxon tests showed significant pretest-posttest improvement in all groups (p < .001). Scientific literacy in the experimental group increased from 50.54 to 69.03 (N-gain = 0.378), whereas the control group increased from 41.67 to 61.56 (N-gain = 0.321); however, the between-group N-gain difference was not significant (p = .176) and baseline literacy differed significantly. Creativity showed a clearer intervention pattern: baseline scores were equivalent (p = .848), while experimental N-gain (0.313) exceeded control N-gain (0.201; p = .049). The findings indicate that the AI-STEM Virtual Lab is highly feasible and promising, particularly for strengthening student creativity, while claims regarding superior scientific-literacy gains require further multi-school testing with better baseline equivalence.
