Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the ability to write exposition texts of class X students at SMA Eka Prasetya Medan through the application of learning media based on local wisdom of the Batak Tribe. This study was motivated by the low writing skills of students, as indicated by the results of daily tests that were still below the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles. In each cycle, the researcher implemented a learning strategy that was designed in stages, with a focus on improving the learning approach, providing more specific feedback, and increasing the intensity of writing exercises and group discussions. The results showed a significant increase in students' writing skills. In cycle I, only 17.65% of students achieved scores above the KKM, while in cycle II, the percentage increased to 87.35%. These findings prove that the use of local wisdom-based media is effective in improving the ability to write exposition texts and strengthening students' understanding of the structure and content of the writing.

Abstract

Curriculum development in the modern era requires a solid foundation, especially in terms of psychology and science and technology, in order to be able to answer increasingly complex challenges. The purpose of this research is to understand the urgency in the aspects of science and technology in the curriculum, as well as the psychological aspects in education for the sake of improving the quality of learning. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach from various scientific references. The research reveals that psychological aspects play an important role in adjusting learning according to students' developmental stages, needs and traits, as well as in creating an inclusive and innovative learning atmosphere. Meanwhile, the application of knowledge and technology in the curriculum encourages the utilisation of technology to support learning processes that are innovative, creative and in line with the times. The psychology and science and technology-based curriculum can equip learners with 21st century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, communication and collaboration. However, during implementation, there are still obstacles such as lack of infrastructure, training for teachers, and the level of digital literacy. Therefore, continuous innovation is needed in curriculum development to produce excellent graduates who are ready to compete in the global era.

Abstract

The prevalence of nonverbal bullying in Madrasah Aliyah environments indicates a low level of tolerance awareness among students. Previous studies have discussed the role of religious values and instructional media in bullying prevention, but few have specifically examined the integration of interactive educational media into Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction. This research addresses that gap by introducing the novelty of using video-based Quizziz educational media in PAI learning to enhance tolerance awareness. The study aims to determine the extent to which the use of Quizziz educational videos in PAI learning influences the improvement of tolerance awareness among Madrasah Aliyah students. A quantitative approach with an experimental design was employed, focusing on grade X students at MAN 2 Majalengka. The research instruments included questionnaires and tests, which were validated for reliability and analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-tests via SPSS. The results revealed a significant difference between the control and experimental classes, with the latter using Quizziz educational videos showing greater improvement across four indicators of tolerance: appreciating differences, empathy, peaceful conflict resolution, and respect for the rights and dignity of others. Thus, PAI learning incorporating Quizziz educational videos is proven effective in enhancing tolerance awareness and preventing nonverbal bullying among Madrasah Aliyah students.

Abstract

Class Management is an integral component in the learning process that affects the interaction between teachers and students as well as the learning environment within the classroom. This study aims to investigate effective strategies in class management that have been developed and applied in various educational contexts. The research findings show that there are various strategies that can enhance the effectiveness of class management, including the application of clear rules, the formation of positive relationships between teachers and students, and a responsive approach to individual student needs. Additionally, the integration of developmental psychology principles and conflict management has been proven effective in creating a conducive learning environment. This study contributes to educational practitioners by presenting a comprehensive framework for class management, highlighting the importance of aligning strategies with classroom contexts and student characteristics. Practical implications and directions for further research are also discussed to deepen understanding about the dynamics of high-quality class management in supporting learning objectives.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs for using pop-up book media in the IPAS (Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial) subject for fifth-grade students at SDN 01 Pinang Ranti Pagi. The background of this research is the low learning outcomes of students, particularly in understanding abstract concepts in the IPAS subject, which is due to the limited use of interactive and engaging learning media. The learning process is still dominated by the use of textbooks, PowerPoint, and YouTube, which do not accommodate the visual and kinesthetic learning styles typical of elementary school students. This descriptive qualitative research involved 32 students and class teachers through interviews and questionnaires to explore their experiences and needs related to learning media. The results indicate that students require concrete, attractive, and interactive media that can increase learning motivation and make abstract materials easier to understand. The study proposes the development of a pop-up book integrated with barcodes linked to audio explanations to enhance student engagement and comprehension. This research contributes to the development of contextual and student-centered learning media in elementary education, especially in IPAS subjects, and addresses a research gap by deeply exploring students’ and teachers’ perspectives on the use of innovative instructional tools.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of communication between teachers and parents on the learning outcomes of fraction mathematics for fourth-grade students at SDIT Baiturahman Citra, West Jakarta. The research employed a quantitative correlational method with a total sample of 40 students. Data were collected through questionnaires on teacher-parent communication and tests on fraction mathematics learning outcomes. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Spearman correlation test due to non-normal data distribution. The results show that teacher-parent communication is categorized as very high based on students' perceptions, while the learning outcomes in fraction mathematics fall into the good category. However, the correlation test indicated no significant relationship between teacher-parent communication and students’ fraction mathematics learning outcomes (r = -0.105; p = 0.517). This suggests that although communication runs very well, it does not have a direct impact on improving students’ learning outcomes in fractions. The study recommends that schools and parents maintain effective communication and develop more varied teaching methods to enhance students’ learning achievements.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas model pembelajaran berbasis masalah (Problem Based Learning/PBL) dengan pendekatan Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada topik magnet di kelas V SDN Gayamsari 01. Isu yang diangkat adalah lemahnya kemampuan kritis mahasiswa dalam memahami konsep keilmuan, khususnya pada topik magnet. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menerapkan model PBL dengan pendekatan TaRL untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah percobaan dengan desain pretest-posttest. Penelitian ini melibatkan 26 siswa kelas V yang menerima perawatan melalui penerapan model PBL dengan TaRL. Sebelum dan sesudah implementasi, siswa diberikan tes untuk mengevaluasi kemampuan berpikir kritis mereka, yang mencakup aspek analisis serta evaluasi. Abstrak ditulis maksimal 250 kata yang menggambarkan masalah,tujuan penelitian, metodologi dan hasil yang diperoleh. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang signifikan setelah penerapan model PBL dengan pendekatan TaRL. Berdasarkan analisis statistik menggunakan uji t sampel berpasangan, nilai signifikansi yang diperoleh adalah 0,000 < 0,05, yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest siswa. Selain itu, hasil tes n-gain menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa telah meningkat dengan kategori moderat, dengan skor n-gain rata-rata 0,3482. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model PBL dengan pendekatan TaRL terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada topik magnet kelas V SDN Gayamsari 01. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar model pembelajaran ini diterapkan secara lebih luas dalam situasi pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Using a literature study methodology, this study seeks to examine how students' learning results in mathematics are impacted by the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning paradigm. The STAD model places a strong emphasis on collaboration in small, diverse groups where students study together, take individual tests, and earn rewards for their collective performance. Applying the STAD model can greatly enhance mathematics learning outcomes, according to the findings of a review of several earlier studies. Pupils gain greater motivation, become more engaged, and comprehend things more deeply. Additionally, STAD promotes constructive social contact among group members as well as a sense of personal accountability. These results suggest that the STAD approach may be a useful and engaging substitute for traditional classroom instruction in mathematics. The teacher's learning technique in the classroom should therefore take this model into account. Keywords: Student Teams Achievement Division, cooperative learning, Learning Outcomes, Mathematics, literature study ABSTRAK Dengan menggunakan metodologi studi literatur, penelitian ini berupaya untuk meneliti bagaimana hasil belajar siswa dalam matematika dipengaruhi oleh paradigma pembelajaran kooperatif Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD). Model STAD menempatkan penekanan kuat pada kolaborasi dalam kelompok-kelompok kecil yang beragam di mana siswa belajar bersama, mengikuti tes individu, dan memperoleh penghargaan atas kinerja kolektif mereka. Menerapkan model STAD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika secara signifikan, menurut temuan tinjauan beberapa penelitian sebelumnya. Siswa memperoleh motivasi yang lebih besar, menjadi lebih terlibat, dan memahami berbagai hal secara lebih mendalam. Selain itu, STAD mendorong kontak sosial yang konstruktif di antara anggota kelompok serta rasa tanggung jawab pribadi. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan STAD dapat menjadi pengganti yang berguna dan menarik untuk pengajaran matematika tradisional di kelas. Oleh karena itu, teknik pembelajaran guru di kelas harus mempertimbangkan model ini. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perlunya pengembangan media pembelajaran video interaktif berorientasi masalah pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila di kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah video interaktif berorientasi masalah layak digunakan untuk media pembelajaran di kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (RnD) dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, dan Evaluate). Subjek penelitian ini yaitu 1 guru kelas V dan 38 siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri Lenteng Agung 01. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan observasi, angket dan wawancara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, ditemukan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami materi norma dalam kehidupanku dalam mata pelajaran Pendidikan Pancasila. Oleh karena itu, siswa memerlukan media pembelajaran yang inovatif dan menyenangkan untuk membantu mereka dalam proses belajar. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan video interaktif berorientasi masalah layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran yang membantu siswa dalam memahami materi. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan panduan yang bermanfaat dalam merancang, mengembangkan, dan menerapkan media pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan lingkungan siswa Kata Kunci: Video Interaktif, Pendidikan Pancasila

Abstract

Nowadays, the relationship between religion and science is always discussed in an interesting way. Science knowledge in human life has experienced significant development and change. But in terms of religion, many still think of it as a tradition from previous people that is only followed casually. In the 20th century, science and technology are currently experiencing very rapid development. Science and technology in the West, such as computers, laptops, and mobile phones, experienced rapid progress in the 17th-18th centuries, starting from the scientific revolution against religious authority in the 12th-13th centuries. Since that century science has not followed religious rules and separated itself from religious authority. Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas is a very influential figure in the world of education, especially in the fields of religion and science. Al-Attas is famous for the idea of Integration of Religion and Science which he applied in the Islamization of Science. The purpose of this study is to find out more about al-Attas' integration in integrating religion and science. Data collection techniques were obtained from the library in the form of books, journals, and relevant conference proceedings, especially those related to the ideas of Naquib Al-Attas, using qualitative methodology. The results concluded that al-Attas wanted to free human thought from belief in magic, mythology, animism and traditional culture that deviated from Islam, as well as secular control over reason and language known as the concept of Islamization of Science. There are two important steps in Islamizing science, namely dewesternization and integration.
