Abstract

At the primary school level, Indonesian language learning includes the development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Descriptive writing requires creativity, but it is often considered boring due to the lack of innovative teaching methods. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of Canva-based picture series media in learning descriptive writing skills in one primary school. This research employs a mixed-methods approach, with the samples consisting of fourth-grade students at one state primary school in Cikarang, West Java, Indonesia. Quantitative data were collected through a writing test, while qualitative data were obtained through semi-structured interviews. Statistical descriptive and inferential analyses are used to measure quantitative data and a thematic analysis is used for qualitative analysis. The results show that Canva-based picture series media can significantly enhance students’ writing skills compared to conventional methods. The engaging visuals help students generate ideas, understand the structure, and foster motivation to write.

Abstract

The primary objective of this research was to investigate the effectiveness of technology-based educational media, specifically those aligned with cognitive learning theory, in improving the mathematical concept comprehension of fifth-grade students. As society advances technologically, it becomes imperative for educators to incorporate these tools into their teaching practices. This integration aims to develop more captivating and creative learning resources that actively engage students and facilitate their acquisition of knowledge. The broader aspiration is that by utilizing technology in mathematics education, the subject will become a preferred discipline for students, thereby dispelling the common perception that mathematics is intimidating and inherently challenging. This study employed a descriptive research methodology. Data collection involved two main techniques: direct observation of classroom activities and assessment through learning outcome tests. The research sample consisted of 13 fifth-grade students enrolled at SDN 07 2X11 Kayutanam. The results of the study demonstrated a favorable outcome regarding the use of cognitive theory-oriented technology media in enhancing fifth-grade students' understanding of mathematical concepts. This suggests that such technological integration can indeed cultivate a more enjoyable and stimulating learning environment, encouraging students to participate actively in their educational journey. In conclusion, this research provides strong evidence that the mathematical concept comprehension of fifth-grade students can be significantly improved through the strategic implementation of technology media grounded in cognitive theory.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the problem-solving abilities of students in linear equation systems of two variables (SPLDV) material with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive method. The instruments used in this research are learning style questionnaires, problem-solving ability tests, and interview guidelines. Subjects were taken from each learning style, with 2 students from each style being interviewed to deepen the data. The results of the study show that students with visual learning styles are able to meet all indicators of problem-solving abilities, namely understanding the problem, making a problem-solving plan, implementing the plan, and re-examining the solution obtained. Students with kinesthetic learning styles are only able to meet three indicators of problem-solving abilities, namely understanding the problem, making a problem-solving plan, and implementing the plan. Students with auditory learning styles are only able to meet one indicator, namely understanding the problem. This shows that the problem-solving abilities of students with visual and auditory learning styles are better compared to students with kinesthetic learning styles.

Abstract

This research aims to develop interactive multimedia that is valid, practical and effective in learning Energy Changes using the ADDIE method. The ADDIE model consists of five main stages, namely: 1) Analysis. 2). Design. 3) Development 3). Implementation. 5) Evaluation. This research was conducted in class IV at SDN WONOREJO II. The data analysis techniques used include interviews and observations for initial needs analysis, as well as validation of questionnaires and student response questionnaires.Research in class IV at SDN WONOREJO II involved validation from media experts, material experts and practitioners. As a result, Canva-based multimedia received a validation score of 95% from media experts and 93% from material experts. Practitioners rate this medium as practical with an agreement rate of 90%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan level kemampuan membaca serta faktor-faktor yang mendukung kemampuan membaca siswa kelas tinggi di SDN 5 Montong Betok Tahun Ajaran 2024/2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari guru dan siswa kelas IV, V, dan VI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan membaca siswa secara umum berada pada kategori sangat baik, dengan sebagian besar siswa mencapai level cerita level tertinggi dalam kemampuan membaca. Faktor-faktor yang mendukung capaian ini meliputi: (1) motivasi belajar dan minat baca siswa, (2) strategi pembelajaran guru yang adaptif, (3) pembiasaan membaca pagi dan bimbingan individual, (4) ketersediaan bahan bacaan yang menarik, serta (5) peran aktif orang tua dan lingkungan rumah yang kondusif. Kolaborasi antara sekolah, guru, orang tua, dan lingkungan sekitar berperan penting dalam menciptakan budaya literasi dan mendorong siswa mencapai kemampuan membaca yang optimal.

Abstract

The success of elementary schools depends on the teachers' ability to supervise and control education. The purpose of this research is to evaluate how well elementary school teachers understand the concepts and practices of monitoring and controlling learning, as well as to identify the factors that support and hinder its implementation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects are elementary school teachers in the Tanggamus region who were purposively selected. Direct observation of learning practices, in-depth interviews, and analysis of supervision documents are the data collection methods. The research results show that most teachers understand the concepts of supervision and control well, but they still face challenges in applying them consistently in the field. It has been proven that the main supporting factors include the support of the school principal, ongoing professional training, and teacher learning communities (KKG). However, the main constraints include time limitations, administrative responsibilities, and the inability to obtain relevant training. This research shows that teacher professional development programs should be strengthened with a practical focus on academic supervision and classroom management. In addition, school policies that support a good learning environment are also necessary. With the overall improvement in competencies, teachers are expected to perform their supervisory and control roles better to enhance the quality of basic education.

Abstract

Character and Moderation Education have become key focuses in Indonesia’s educational system, especially in the era of globalization which influences the values of the younger generation. This study aims to explore the implementation of character and moderation education within the school and boarding environment at SMP Ali Maksum Yogyakarta. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach, involving in-depth interviews and observations of educational practices at the school and dormitory. The findings reveal that SMP Ali Maksum integrates character education through religious programs (diniyyah) and daily activities such as the 3S program (Smile, Greet, Salute), which aim to foster religious and moderate attitudes. The program involves collaboration among teachers, the student organization (OSIS), and the Class Representative Council (MPK) to ensure effective implementation. Regular evaluations are conducted to assess program success and identify challenges, such as the decline in positive habits during school holidays. Despite these obstacles, the intended outcome is the formation of students with strong character and moderate attitudes. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the role of boarding schools in promoting character and moderation education, as well as the importance of continuity in values taught both at school and within the family environment.

Rosailatul Muslimah (2228210019) The Habit of Congregational Prayer in Instilling Religious Character in Children Aged 5-6 Years at RA Al-Izzah, Serang City, Banten. Undergraduate Thesis (S-1) Program, Early Childhood Education Teacher Education Department. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University. This study explains the habit of congregational prayer in instilling religious character in children aged 5-6 years at RA Al Izzah, Serang City, Banten. The method used in this study is qualitative research and is analyzed by means of descriptive analysis that clearly explains the data collected, and then uses a case study with an in-depth approach that emphasizes a deep understanding of the habit of congregational prayer in instilling religious character in children aged 5-6 years at RA Al-Izzah, Serang City. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the implementation of the habit of congregational prayer in instilling the religious character of children aged 5-6 years, which is integrated into an integrated curriculum, is effective in developing the religious and social character of children aged 5-6 years. Supported by adequate human resources, good facilities, and cooperation with parents, this program has succeeded in instilling religious values, discipline, and togetherness. The evaluation showed satisfactory results, with high target achievements and a positive impact on the development of children's character holistically.

Abstract

Era digital telah membawa perubahan signifikan dalam dunia pendidikan khususnya metode dan pendekatan pembelajaran. Guru tidak lagi hanya berperan sebagai penyampai informasi, tetapi juga sebagai fasilitator, inovator, dan motivator dalam proses belajar mengajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi peran guru dalam mendorong inovasi pembelajaran di era digital, termasuk tantangan yang dihadapi serta strategi yang digunakan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pendekatan kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan melalui studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru yang adaptif terhadap teknologi, mampu mengintegrasikan media digital dan menerapkan pendekatan pembelajaran yang kreatif. Selain itu, pelatihan berkelanjutan dan dukungan institusional menjadi faktor kunci dalam menunjang peran guru sebagai agen inovasi.

Abstract

This study focuses on the shift in values surrounding the Rebo Pungkasan tradition among Javanese migrants in Sridadi Urban Village, Muara Bulian District. The main issues addressed are the transformation in how the tradition is carried out, the declining understanding of its meaning, and reduced community participation—particularly among the younger generation. These changes have contributed to the erosion of the tradition’s social, spiritual, and cultural identity. The objective of this research is to identify the factors influencing the shift in values and the efforts made to preserve the core values of the Rebo Pungkasan tradition. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that value shifts are driven by factors such as globalization, modernization, cultural openness, socio-economic conditions, and increasing heterogeneity within the community. These influences have led to adjustments in the timing of the tradition, simplification of activities, and a decrease in youth involvement. Despite these challenges, the community continues to show commitment to preserving core values like spirituality, solidarity, and mutual cooperation. Preservation efforts include engaging community leaders, fostering intergenerational transmission, promoting the tradition through social media, and maintaining a selective approach to external influences. Consensus-based decision-making and cultural adaptation have become key strategies in ensuring that Rebo Pungkasan remains a meaningful part of the spiritual and social identity of the Javanese diaspora in Sridadi.
