Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

This research aims to determine the differences in student learning achievement in grade IV in the subject of science at SD Muhammadiyah Integratif Dukun and to determine the effectiveness of using Canva media on the achievement of science learning of grade IV students at SD Muhammadiyah Integratif Dukun. This study is a quantitative study with an experimental method with the research subjects of grade IV A students of SD Muhammadiyah Integratif Dukun totaling 17 students. The data collection technique for this study used observation, interviews, pre-test post-test questions and documentation. Data analysis to determine student learning achievement used quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis of the post-test test scores of the experimental class had an average value of 80.58824 while the control class had an average value of 72.9412. In conclusion, the average value of the experimental class is greater than the average value of the control class. This difference is also supported by the results of statistical tests using the Independent Sample T-Test with a Sig. value. (2-tailed) is 0.007 <0.05, therefore it can be concluded that there is a significant (real) difference in influence between the two groups and means Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted. So there is an influence and it can be said that the use of Canva media is effective on students' science learning achievement at SD Muhammadiyah Integratif Dukun.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Think Pair Share model on students' critical thinking skills in the Science subject (IPAS) for Grade V at SD Negeri 53 Palembang. The research method used is quantitative with a type of Quasi-Experimental Design, employing a Nonequivalent Control Group Design involving two groups: an experimental group (treated with the Think Pair Share model) and a control group (without the treatment). The research subjects were students from classes VA and VB. The instrument was validated by subject matter experts. Data collection techniques included tests and documentation, while data analysis was conducted using the Independent Sample t-test. The analysis results showed that the t-count = 23.111 was greater than the t-table = 1.998 at a 0.05 significance level (df = 62), with Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.005. This indicates that the Think Pair Share model has a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills. Data processing was carried out using SPSS version 25.

This article discusses the urgency of character education in shaping the morality of young citizens in the era of globalization and digitalization. Through literature review and questionnaires involving 18 respondents, key values such as honesty, responsibility, discipline, empathy, religiosity, and nationalism emerged as essential. While most respondents recognize its importance, challenges such as the influence of social media, lack of role models, and the absence of contextual approaches hinder effective implementation. The study emphasizes that character education must be a collaborative effort involving families, schools, and communities, and be integrated with civic education. Character education should go beyond value transmission and aim to holistically shape students' personalities across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. When implemented reflectively and contextually, character education becomes a vital strategy for developing a moral and adaptable young generation.

This research aims to develop an interactive media game called CacaBoomtown which is designed to help students' understanding of the concept of integers in a more fun and simple way. In addition, this study also aims to assess how feasible CacaBoomtown media is used as learning media in learning integers in grade IV. In this development, respondents consisted of one teacher and 37 fourth grade students. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) because researchers want to develop learning products in the form of Canva-based Interactive Games using the Hannafin and Peck (1988) model. This research was carried out up to the design stage. The results of the analysis show that the learning media used by teachers so far, such as student books and simple tools in the form of cups, have not been effective in building understanding of the concept of numerical numbers up to 10,000. Learners still have difficulty counting, understanding place value, and ordering and comparing numbers. The design stage resulted in a Canva-based CacaBoomtown media design that presents a simulation of buying and selling in the context of students' daily lives. This media is considered potential to be continued to the development stage because it incorporates visual elements, contextual, and play activities that are in accordance with the characteristics of learners.

Social studies are important for forming students' social understanding and critical skills and increasing student achievement with the implementation of PJBL. The study aims to determine the success and influence of the PJBL model on social studies learning outcomes and to evaluate the achievement of student learning outcomes at SDN Pangilen 3 Sampang. Quantitative experimental research uses a one group pretest-posttest design. Data were analyzed by tests and observations, using normality, homogeneity, and t-test tests to significantly measure the effectiveness of PJBL. The results of the study showed: The implementation of PJBL as a whole was in the sufficient category and needed improvement in reflection and collaboration. Of the 16 fourth grade students, 43.75% achieved KKM 70 in the pre-test with an average of 69.25. After learning a certain model, 93.75% achieved KKM, the average increased to 72.38, and the scores were more even, indicating an increase in mastery of social studies material. The normality and homogeneity tests of the data were met. The p value of 0.017 indicated by the partial test explains that there is a significant difference so that this explains that PjBL affects students' social studies learning achievement. Conclusion: The implementation of PJBL is quite effective with increasing mastery of social studies material, but reflection and collaboration need to be improved.

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Dr. Soetomo V Surabaya in the topic of data collection and presentation. The background of this research is the low level of student interest and participation in conventional learning, indicating the need for innovation through more engaging and effective teaching methods. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Data were collected through observation and student achievement tests. The results showed an improvement in students' learning outcomes after the implementation of the TGT model. The percentage of class mastery increased from 87% in the first cycle to 91% in the second cycle. The average student score also increased from 87 to 89.5. Therefore, the implementation of the TGT model proved to be effective in improving student learning outcomes. This model also created a more enjoyable, competitive, and collaborative learning environment, making it highly relevant for teaching Mathematics at the elementary school level.

This study aims to: 1) analyze the implementation of environmental care character education 2) explain the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of environmental care character education. Types of qualitative research. Case Study research design. The techniques and instruments for data collection are observation and interview. Research results 1) The efforts made by the school at SDN 93 Singkawang in the implementation of environmental care character education for students are to provide several facilities such as: Availability of garbage cans and hand washing stations; Availability of bathrooms and clean water; Energy-saving habits; Biopore Availability; Drainage system preparation; Availability of organic and inorganic waste separation points; Composting assignments; There are cleaning tools available in each class, such as brooms, mops, shovels, and others. 2) Supporting Factors: Facilities available at the School; Teacher performance in teaching the implementation of character education caring for the environment; The Role of School Staff. Inhibiting Factors: Unpreparedness and incompetence of educators; Environmental Conditions; Minimal funds and costs; Teachers are less active and innovative.

Kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian merupakan dua aspek krusial yang memengaruhi kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dasar. Guru tidak hanya dituntut menguasai materi dan strategi pembelajaran, tetapi juga membangun hubungan harmonis dengan siswa, rekan kerja, serta masyarakat, serta menunjukkan karakter yang baik sebagai panutan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara kritis literatur terkini mengenai kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian guru sekolah dasar serta dampaknya terhadap kualitas pembelajaran. Melalui tinjauan literatur terhadap 20 artikel ilmiah nasional dan internasional, ditemukan bahwa banyak guru belum menunjukkan kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian yang optimal. Faktor penghambat yang teridentifikasi meliputi kurangnya pelatihan karakter, beban kerja yang tinggi, serta lemahnya pengawasan dan pembinaan. Hasil studi ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan aspek non-akademik dalam pengembangan profesional guru. Pengembangan kompetensi sosial dan kepribadian menjadi salah satu elemen kunci dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, interaktif, dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya desain program pelatihan guru yang terstruktur dan berkelanjutan, yang tidak hanya menekankan pada kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional, tetapi juga pada pembentukan karakter dan kemampuan interpersonal. Dengan demikian, diharapkan guru mampu menjadi teladan yang efektif sekaligus agen perubahan dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan dasar. Implikasi dari studi ini juga dapat dijadikan dasar bagi pembuat kebijakan dalam merancang strategi peningkatan mutu pendidikan yang lebih holistic.

The teacher certification program is a national policy designed to enhance the professionalism and quality of educators in Indonesia. Although it has been implemented for over a decade, the effectiveness of certification in improving the quality of elementary school teachers remains a subject of ongoing debate. This article aims to review recent empirical literature (2018–2024) on the impact of teacher certification on the quality of primary education, specifically focusing on professional competence, teaching practices, and student learning outcomes. Using a systematic literature review approach involving 20 national and international scholarly articles, the study finds that while certification offers administrative advantages and greater professional recognition for teachers, its impact on the actual quality of learning is not yet consistent, equitable, or sustainable. Some studies highlight a disconnect between certification status and the implementation of effective teaching practices, while improvements in student outcomes remain inconsistent across different school settings. In light of these findings, the study recommends the implementation of post-certification mentoring as a critical step to support ongoing professional development. Furthermore, reflective training that encourages self-evaluation and continuous pedagogical improvement is essential. The role of school principals is also identified as pivotal in teacher development, serving not only as instructional leaders but also as facilitators of teacher growth and learning. These findings emphasize that certification should not be viewed as the endpoint of teacher development but rather as a component within a broader, sustained system of professional growth, which requires integrated and supportive policy measures to achieve long-term improvement in educational quality.

This study was motivated by the low ability of students in solving mathematical problems systematically and logically. One of the causes is the use of conventional learning models that do not actively involve students in the critical thinking process. This study aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model on students' mathematical problem solving ability. The method used is a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The population in this study were all fourth grade students at SDN Cikahuripan, while the sample consisted of two classes selected purposively, namely the experimental class using the PBL model and the control class using the conventional learning model. The research instrument was a validated mathematical problem solving ability test. Data analysis was conducted using t-test. The results showed a significant difference between the mathematical problem solving skills of students who participated in learning with the PBL model compared to students who studied conventionally. Students in the experimental class showed higher improvement in understanding the problem, designing a solution strategy, and concluding the results logically. This research also opens opportunities for further studies on the application of PBL at various levels and other subjects.
