Abstract

With the development of the current education curriculum, teachers and educators must use HOTS questions more in the learning and assessment process. Students do not just passively remember or understand information; these questions encourage them to apply, analyze, evaluate, and create based on the material they have learned It is anticipated that the intellectual capacities of students encompass not only extensive and profound analytical skills but also the capability to address emerging challenges in a continuously evolving world. This research delves into the competence of students to resolve questions categorized under HOTS at the C4, C5, and C6 levels, as outlined in Bloom’s taxonomy, utilizing a quantitative descriptive approach. Findings from this investigation reveal that fifth-grade students at UPT SDN Panyirapan demonstrate proficient problem-solving skills in science-related HOTS queries, achieving an average score of 71.55 across each HOTS level.

Abstract

This research examines the role of school principals in implementing school-based management (SBM) to improve teacher performance. School-based management is a decentralized approach that gives schools greater autonomy in decision-making, with the aim of improving the quality of education. The principal plays a key role as a leader and manager in the implementation of SBM, which involves planning, organizing, directing and supervising. This research uses qualitative methods with interview and observation techniques to collect data from several schools. The research results show that school principals who are effective in implementing SBM have strong leadership abilities, good communication, and skills in managing resources. In addition, the principal’s support in teacher professional development, strengthening positive school culture, and providing constructive feedback has been proven to increase teacher motivation and performance. In conclusion, the role of the school principal is very important in implementing SBM and has a significant impact on improving teacher performance, which ultimately contributes to improving the quality of education in the school.

Abstract

The problem of students' initial reading learning difficulties has an impact on learning outcomes and the smoothness of the teaching and learning process. For this reason, so that students are able to read and do not miss out on lessons and are able to understand the material presented by the teacher, teachers must play a role and make every effort to overcome students who have difficulty reading so that students do not experience delays in receiving learning in class. The aim of this research is to analyze the role of teachers in overcoming difficulties in learning to read at the beginning of elementary school students. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the research results obtained, teachers at SDIT Roudhotul Jannah Kota Bekasi have carried out their roles as best as possible by providing structured teaching, using multisensory learning methods, providing direct feedback, intervening early, creating a positive learning environment and involving parents.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students who think that learning Fine Arts is learning to draw and sing only. This study aims to describe the improvement of fine arts learning outcomes by creating works of art from used paper using the project-based learning (PjBL) model in class V B SDN 04 Pauh Kota Padang. This type of research is a classroom action research (PTK) with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Implemented in 2 cycles, each cycle consists of 2 meetings. The subjects of this research 27 students. The results showed: First, the teaching module aspect obtained an average of 83.33% (B) increased in cycle II 91.66% (SB). Second, the results of the implementation of cycle I on the teacher aspect obtained an average percentage of 87.50% (B), increasing in cycle II to 93.75% (SB). Third, the results of the implementation of cycle I on the aspects of students obtained an average of 87.50% (B), increasing in cycle II to 93.75% (SB). Fourth, the learning outcomes of students in cycle I obtained an average of 73.53 (C), increasing in cycle II to 87.14 (B). It can be concluded that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model can improve the learning outcomes of fine arts by creating artworks from used paper in class V B SDN 04 Pauh Padang City.

Abstract

Listening skill is the most fundamental skill that students must possess. The low listening skills of fourth-grade students at SD Kanisius Cungkup Salatiga and SD Negeri Kutowinangun 08 Salatiga in the subject of fairy tales, coupled with inadequate use of media, constitute the background of this research. The aim of this study was to determine the difference in the effects of audio and audio-visual media on elementary school students' listening skills. This research employed a quasi-experimental design using a nonequivalent control group design. The results indicated that the use of audio and audio-visual media has an influence on the listening skills of fourth-grade students at SD. This is evident from the average scores of the experimental and control groups. With a obtained (2-tailed) p-value of 0.029 < 0.05, H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that audio and audio-visual media have an impact on the listening skills of fourth-grade students elementary school.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop Mathematics Worksheets (LKPD) based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) for the topic of Plane Geometry for fifth-grade students in elementary school. The development of Mathematics LKPD is driven by the need for learning tools that can enhance students' problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and curiosity. This study aims to develop Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Worksheets (LKPD) to improve students' critical thinking skills that are valid, practical, and effective. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). The steps in conducting this research follow the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects of this study include 2 content experts, 2 media experts, 2 language experts, a teacher, and 32 fifth-grade students from SDN Baru Ranji. The results of the study show that the content expert validation obtained a score of 85%, which falls into the valid category. Media expert validation obtained a score of 87%, also in the valid category. Language expert validation obtained a score of 82%, categorized as valid. It was found that the sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.000 < 0.05, thus Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores of the students, indicating that the use of PBL-based LKPD has an effect on improving the understanding of concepts among fifth-grade students at SDN Baru Ranji. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the improvement of the quality of education in elementary schools.   Keywords: LKPD, mathematics, problem based learning

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of giving rewards on students' learning motivation in social studies learning in class VI SDIT BPMAA. The research method used is quantitative with an experimental design. The research subjects were class V students at SDIT BPMAA, consisting of two groups. Data was collected through learning motivation questionnaires and learning outcomes tests which included social studies material. Data analysis was carried out using the Wilcoxon test to compare the level of learning motivation between the experimental group and the control group. The results of the study showed that there was a significant difference in motivation to learn social studies between students who were given rewards and those who were not. Students who were given rewards showed a significant increase in their learning motivation compared to students who were not given rewards. By looking at the results of the SPSS test which uses the Wilcoxon test, where the sig value is smaller than the value 0.005 or 0.00 < 0.05, it can be said that reard training is very influential in increasing students' learning motivation abilities. The conclusion of this research is that giving rewards has a positive influence on the learning motivation and social studies learning outcomes of class V students at SDIT BPMAA. Therefore, the strategy of giving rewards can be considered as a method to increase student motivation and learning outcomes in social studies subjects, written in a maximum of 250 words describing the problem, research objectives, methodology and results obtained.

Abstract

The importance of innovating to support social studies learning at the elementary school level is very crucial. One form of innovation that can be implemented is through the development of learning media. The use of learning media aims to arouse students' enthusiasm and motivation to learn, which in the end can improve their learning outcomes. This research aims to review literature related to the use of Augmented Reality (AR) media in social studies learning in elementary schools. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data was collected by documenting and reviewing all articles related to AR published in the 2018-2024 period. A total of 8 accredited national and international journal articles obtained from the Google Scholar database were used in this research. The research results show that AR media can improve learning outcomes, learning motivation, creative thinking abilities, and understanding of concepts in Social Sciences (IPS) learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the motivation of students in learning Pancasila Education which is still low and they are less active in implementing learning. The aim of the development carried out by the researcher is to produce interactive learning media, flipbook, material for flat construction for fourth grade elementary school students, seen from its validity, attractiveness and practicality. This research includes research and development (Research and Development), using the ADDIE research model from the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate stages which go through several stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The trial of interactive learning media was supported by an expert team validity assessment, and validity questionnaire data from fourth grade elementary school student respondents, and based on the results of the material expert's assessment, they got a score of 82% in the very feasible and valid category, media experts got a score of 83% in the category very feasible and interesting, and the small scale assessment of 7 respondents from students averaged 4.65 in the very practical category, so it can be concluded that this flipbook interactive media is suitable for use by students.

Abstract

Student thinking skills are student test scores after completing a lesson or problem. This research aims to find out whether the use of the PBL model assisted by learning media is effective on the thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students. The subjects in this research were students of classes V A and V B at SDN 02 Mojorejo, Madiun City. The type of approach to research is quantitative with a quasi experimental design type of research that uses a control group pretest-posttest design. The sampling technique used a saturated sampling technique, the sample in this study was 56 students divided into two classes. At SDN 02 Mojorejo class V A as an experimental class was given treatment using the PBL model and at class V B as a Kontron class was given treatment using direct learning. The instrument used for data collection was providing pretest and posttest questions. The technique used for data processing is to carry out normality and homogeneity tests, then continue with the independent sample T test. The results of the research obtained a p-value < 0.05, namely 0.00 < 0.05 so that H1 was accepted and H0 was rejected. So there is an influence of the PBL model assisted by learning media on the thinking skills of fifth grade elementary school students.
