Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media pembelajaran video animasi terhadap pemahaman siswa pada materi shalat gerhana dan shalat jenazah mata pelajaran pendidikan agama islam dan budi pekerti kelas VIII di UPTD SMP NEGERI 1 SEI KANAN T.A 2024-2025. populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah peserta didik UPTD SMP NEGERI 1 SEI KANAN kelas VIII yang berjumlah 138 siswa dari 5 kelas yaitu (VIII1 , VIII2 , VIII3, VIII4, VIII5). Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengambilan sampel ini adalah dengan menggunakan teknik acak, dimana penulis mengambil sampel 20% dari jumlah siswa seluruh kelas VIII. Maka sampel pada penelitian ini 28 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai korelasi rxy = (6,154) dan nilai Df= 28-2=26 diperoleh rtabel pada taraf signifikan 5% sebesar (2,05553) dan uji regresi berganda (R Square) sebesar 0,659 artinya terdapat pengaruh media pembelajaran video animasi terhadap pemahaman siswa kelas VIII sebesar 65,9% dan 34,1% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lainnya. Dengan demikian rxy lebih besar dari rtabel sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh media pembelajaran video animasi terhadap pemahaman siswa pada materi shalat gerhana dan shalat jenazah mata pelajaran pendidikan agama islam dan budi pekerti kelas VIII di UPTD SMP NEGERI 1 SEI KANAN T.A 2024-2025.

This study aims to analyze the process of instilling nationalisme attitudes through Citizenship Education (PKn) learning in grade V students at SD Negeri 1 Langsa City. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study consisted of a grade V teacher and 28 students. The results of the study indicate that the instillation of nationalism values has been running optimally. PKn learning does not only focus on cognitive aspects, but also integrates affective and psychomotor approaches that shape students' attitudes and behavior. Teachers utilize various learning methods, such as discussions, inspirational stories, and visual media to foster a sense of national spirit. In addition, supporting activities such as flag ceremonies, nationalism-themed competitions, and educational visits also strengthen students' understanding of national values. Active involvement of students in the learning process and support from schools and parents are important factors in the success of instilling nationalism attitudes in students. This study recommends that learning strategies like this continue to be developed sustainably to form a young generation who love their country.

ABSTRACT This study was conducted with the aim of analyzing the character education values contained in wait Disney's wish film. This study used A qualitative descriptive method, where data was obtained through observation of scenes, dialogues, and action of the characters in the film. The result of the study showed that the character Asha describe various character values, including (1) respect; (2) responsibility; (3) honesty; (4) mutual Assistance; (5) cooperation; (6) caring for others; (7) courage; (8) hard work; and (9) justice. These findings indicate that the wish film not only function as entertainment. But also as an effective character learning medium for chilldern and Adolescents. Keywords: Film, Character Value, Literature ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang terkandung dalam film Wish karya Walt Disney. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, dimana data diperoleh melalui observasi terhadap adegan, dialog, dan tindakan tokoh dalam film. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tokoh Asha menggambarkan beberapa nilai karakter, antara lain (1) hormat; (2) tanggung jawab; (3) kejujuran; (4) tolong-menolong; (5) kerja sama; (6) peduli sesama; (7) keberanian; (8) kerja keras; dan (9) keadilan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa film Wish tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran karakter bagi anak-anak dan remaja. This research aims to assess the impact of the Understanding by Design (UbD) instructional model on student participation at Sanggar Belajar Kepong, Malaysia. A quantitative method with a pretest-posttest single group design was used. The entire student body at Sanggar Belajar Kepong, totaling 15 students, served as the population, and purposive sampling was employed to select participants. The data collection tool was a 15-item multiple-choice test intended to evaluate student engagement in learning Indonesian, with a focus on folk tale content. Data analysis included tests for validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. Findings reveal a statistically significant increase in student engagement after the implementation of the UbD model, with a p-value below 0.05. The results affirm that the UbD approach effectively enhances student activity in five key areas: interaction with teachers, participation in discussions, active team involvement, confidence in answering questions, and effort in completing assignments. Overall, this study confirms that integrating the UbD model can serve as a practical method for boosting student participation in the learning process.

The background of this research is the low score of students on writing description texts. description. This research aims to develop learning media Flipbook assisted by Augmented Reality (AR), describe the feasibility, results of validation, and describe the results of the effectiveness test in improving the writing of description text. validation, and describe the results of the effectiveness test in improving simple writing skills on description text material of grade IV elementary school students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model consisting of with the ADDIE model which consists of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were 34 students of class IV A and B SDN Sampangan 02 Semarang City. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, expert validation, and pretest and posttest tests in the use of Augmented Reality (AR)-assisted Flipbook media. The results of validation by media experts and material experts showed that the media was declared “Very Feasible” with a percentage of eligibility of 92% and 90%, respectively. The effectiveness test was conducted using the Paired Sample T-Test test, which showed that the average student pretest score of 63.33 increased to 86.83 on the posttest. The statistical analysis results showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), which means there is a significant increase in students' writing skills after using the media. writing skills after utilizing the media. This media is able to improve students' understanding of description text material. Thus, Flipbook media assisted by Augmented Reality is proven to be feasible and effective to use as an innovative learning media in improving the writing skills of elementary school students, especially in learning Indonesian language description text material.

Evaluation of learning outcomes at the basic education level faces challenges in implementing an assessment system that not only measures cognitive aspects, but also covers the development of competencies as a whole. This research aims to examine various learning outcome evaluation approaches that are relevant and effective in primary schools. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative approach and content analysis of theoretical and practical sources related to learning evaluation. The results show that approaches such as formative, summative, authentic, portfolio, as well as self- and peer-assessment have an important role in supporting competency-based learning and maximum development of learners' potential. The implementation of these approaches still faces obstacles in the field, such as limited teacher capacity and lack of operational guidelines.

Early childhood independence is a crucial aspect of character development that needs to be nurtured during the golden period of life (0–8 years). Modern challenges such as the dominance of digital technology, permissive parenting styles, and academic pressures hinder the growth of children’s independence. This study aims to describe the concept of Islamic education in fostering independence in early childhood. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a library research approach. Data sources were obtained from classical and modern Islamic literature, tafsir books, hadith collections, and relevant scientific journals. Content analysis techniques were employed to identify main themes related to Islamic educational values and independence. The results show that Islamic education shapes children’s independence through three approaches: a) ta’dib (habituation of manners), b) mau’izhah (advice), and c) targhīb wa tarhīb (encouragement and warning). The concept of ta’dib focuses on internalizing values through role modeling and habituation; mau’izhah addresses the emotional and affective domains of the child through advice that builds self-awareness; while targhīb wa tarhīb provides motivation and behavioral control by developing values-based incentives related to rewards and consequences.

ABSTRACT This research is motivated by observations conducted at SDN 1 Taman Ayu, which revealed that the learning process still lacks the use of instructional media, particularly in delivering the topic of changes in the states of matter. The learning process remains heavily reliant on textbooks as the sole learning source, which negatively affects students’ understanding of the material. To address this issue, the researcher developed an instructional medium in the form of pop-up-based flashcards designed to attract students' interest in learning while also facilitating their conceptual understanding of the topic. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data collection techniques included interviews and questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted through feasibility validation by media and content experts, as well as feedback from teachers and students regarding the developed media. The validation results indicated that the pop-up-based flashcard media achieved a very high level of feasibility, with feasibility percentages of 96% from the media expert, 82.5% from the content expert, and 98% from the teacher's response. Furthermore, students gave positive responses to the use of this media in the learning process. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the pop-up-based flashcard media is highly feasible for use as a learning tool in teaching the topic of changes in the states of matter in fourth-grade elementary school. This study recommends the development of similar media for other topics to support learning variation in elementary schools.

Contemporary approaches to mathematics education play a vital role not only in assessing learning outcomes but also in uncovering the subjective meanings embedded in students’ learning processes. The interpretive paradigm provides a conceptual framework that emphasizes understanding social constructions, personal meanings, and the unique experiences of learners. This paradigm underpins qualitative research in education, particularly when the focus is on in-depth exploration of how students interpret and internalize mathematical concepts. This article aims to review recent literature that applies the interpretive paradigm within the field of mathematics education. Findings indicate that this approach is effective in revealing students’ perceptions of mathematics, their learning strategies, and the emotional and social challenges they encounter throughout the learning process. A literature review of publications from the past five years reveals that the interpretive paradigm enables researchers to gain deeper insights into students’ cognitive and affective domains areas often overlooked by quantitative methods. Predominant methodologies such as in-depth interviews, participatory observation, narrative reflection, and case studies facilitate a holistic and contextualized understanding of learning experiences. Furthermore, this paradigm repositions teachers not merely as transmitters of content, but as facilitators who are attuned to the social, cultural, and psychological backgrounds of their students. The findings from this review offer significant implications for the development of inclusive curricula, reflective and personalized instructional strategies, and more humane, context-sensitive assessment models. In this regard, the interpretive paradigm contributes to shaping a mathematics education system that is more empathetic, relevant, and meaningful for students from diverse backgrounds and with varied learning needs in the modern educational landscape.

Science is an essential subject in elementary school, as it plays a significant role in developing scientific thinking, curiosity, and students' ability to understand natural phenomena logically and systematically. However, in practice, many students face difficulties in grasping scientific concepts. The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of implementing STEM and Project-Based Learning (PjBL) models in enhancing students’ conceptual understanding and learning motivation. The research method employed is a systematic literature review of various relevant previous studies. The findings indicate that the application of STEM and PjBL learning models can improve elementary students’ understanding of science concepts, creativity, and critical thinking skills.
