Abstract

The objectives of this study include: [1] To determine parents' perceptions of National Private Junior High Schools; [2] To determine the extent to which parents' positive perceptions influence their decisions in choosing a school. The background of this study is based on the phenomenon of increasing public interest in private schools, even though public schools are still considered more prestigious and superior in terms of facilities and teaching staff. The method used in this study is qualitative with a positivistic approach, data was obtained through observation, in- depth interviews, and documentation of eight parents of students from various socio- economic backgrounds, as well as the school. The results of the study indicate that parents' perceptions of National Private Junior High Schools are very positive. The school is seen as having advantages in character building, instilling religious values, and a humanistic learning approach. Influencing factors, such as effective promotion, positive experiences from the surrounding community, teacher professionalism, affordable education costs, and a conducive school environment are the main considerations in decision making. Parents also observed positive developments in their children's self-confidence, religious habits, and social interactions after attending the institution. This study concludes that parents' perceptions play a significant role in children's educational decisions. The decision to send children to private junior high schools is not solely due to limited access to public schools, but rather based on confidence in the quality of education, the school's vision, and the values it instills. This study is expected to serve as a reference for educational institutions in improving service quality and building public trust.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of parents in enhancing children's learning motivation. The research was conducted in Siborboron Village, Sijamapolang District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The research subjects were four parents and four children from Siborboron Village. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process included data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results show that parents play roles as role models, facilitators, and motivators in improving children's learning motivation. The motivational strategies provided by parents include giving praise, rewards, and sanctions. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the role of parents in enhancing children's learning motivation is not yet optimal because the children still receive insufficient attention in learning at home due to parents being busy working in the fields.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: 1) To design and develop an educational game for mathematics subjects focusing on multiplication material; 2) To test the feasibility of the educational game and assist students in understanding multiplication. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. Data collection techniques include interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, combined with Black Box Testing and product feasibility validation by experts to provide feedback regarding the feasibility of the educational game. The product feasibility validation was analyzed and converted using the Likert Scale. The results of the study show that the educational game received a “highly feasible” criterion according to media experts with an average percentage of 85.71%; according to material experts, it obtained an average of 95.83% with a “highly feasible” criterion; and according to educators, it gained an average of 96.11% with a “highly feasible” criterion. Therefore, the “PEKA” game is feasible to be used as a learning medium and as entertainment for studying anywhere and anytime.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an E-LKPD using the website wizer.me, as well as to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of the E-LKPD. The methodology used in this study is research and development with the ADDE development model at SDN Puspanegara 08. The research subjects were 4th grade student totaling 27 students. The research was conducted in the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. In this study, validation tests were conducted on the E-LKPD product by medi experts, language experts, and subject matter experts. The validation result from the media expert obtained 100% with a “very feasible” criterion, the language expert obtained 100% with a “very feasible” criterion, and the subject matter expert obtained 92% with a “very feasible” criterion. The result of the students response questionnaire showed 90% with a “very good” category, and the average N-Gain score was 0,71, which falls into the “high” category. The result of the study indicate that the use of E-LKPD via the wizer.me website is highly effective in supporting the learning process and has proven to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of the ethnopedagogy approach on students’ understanding of the concept of democracy. Understanding the concept of democracy is an important part of Civic Education (PPKn), which plays a role in shaping the character of active, critical, and democratic citizens. Based on preliminary observations at SDN 6 Labuhan Haji, it was found that fifth-grade students still experienced difficulties in understanding democratic values such as deliberation, mutual cooperation, and respecting differences of opinion. This was indicated by low learning outcomes and limited student engagement in the learning process. The application of the ethnopedagogy approach, which connects democracy material with the local wisdom of the Sasak community such as the Banjar tradition, beriuk tinjal (mutual cooperation), and the culture of deliberation was carried out as an effort to improve students’ understanding. This research employed a quantitative method with an experimental type and a one-group pretest-posttest research design. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, interviews, and documentation. The research sample consisted of all fifth-grade students at SDN 6 Labuhan Haji, totaling 25 students. The results of the study show that: (1) the implementation of learning using the ethnopedagogy approach was carried out according to the planned stages, as evidenced by the increase in the average pretest score of 58 to a posttest average of 84, categorized as good; (2) there was a significant influence of the ethnopedagogy approach on students’ understanding of the concept of democracy, as indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.60 in the medium-to-high category and the results of the paired sample t-test showing a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, thus Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected.

Abstract

Penelitian ini fokus pada permasalahan yang terjadi dengan adanya kesenjangan antara harapan dengan fakta yang ada dilapangan bahwa siswa belum mampu menyampaikan ide atau gagasan berdasarkan pemahamannya dan siswa belum mampu memberikan jawaban yang berbeda dan bervariasi dalam menyelesaikan suatu soal atau permasalahan yang diberikan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan model pembelajaran project based learning untuk memfokuskan pada kreativitas siswa dalam pembelajaran sejarah kelas XI di SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran project based learning terhadap kemampuan belajar siswa kelas XI di SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin. Penelitian ini menggunakan Quasi Experimental Design dengan desain pretest posttest. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan model pembelajaran project based learning berjumlah 31 orang siswa dan kelas kontrol menggunakan model pembelajaran problem based learning dengan jumlah siswa 31 orang. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes esai yang telah di uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji tingkat kesukaran dan uji daya pembeda. Teknik analisis data diuji sebanyak tiga kali, yaitu dengan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada uji-t, data berpikir kreatif kelas eksperimen memiliki rata-rata 78.23 kemudian meningkat menjadi 85.48, sedangkan berpikir kreatif pada kelas kontrol memiliki rata-rata 74.84 menjadi 79,03 mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Pada uji hipotesis yang menggunakan Independent Sample t-Test menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pada kedua kelas, namun peningkatan yang terjadi pada kelas eksperimen lebih signifikan, dengan nilai p dua sisi ( p dua sisi ) sebesar 0,007 dari pengujian tersebut mendapatkan hasil maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran project based learning terbukti lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan berpikir kreatif siswa dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning , dilihat dari hasil yang signifikan pada penggunaan model PjBL terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada proses pembelajaran sejarah kelas XI di SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan, kelayakan, dan efektivitas e-modul menggunakan website genially terhadap proses pembelajaran kelas IV di SDN Tonjong 03 pada semester genap, tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Metode penelitian yang digunakan Research and Development dengan model penelitian ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Uji validasi dilakukan pada ahli media, ahli bahasa, dan ahli materi untuk mengembangkan dan menyempurnakan e-modul menggunakan website genially untuk peserta didik. Lembar angket respon peserta didik, soal pretest dan soal posttest disebarkan kepada peserta didik untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan efektivitas e-modul menggunakan website genially pada pembelajaran. Hasil uji validasi menunjukkan bahwa ahli media sebesar 98,6% dengan kriteria sangat layak, ahli bahasa sebesar 100% dengan kriteria sangat layak, ahli materi dosen sebesar 97,3% dengan kriteria sangat layak, dan ahli materi guru sebesar 96% dengan kriteria sangat layak. Hasil rata-rata angket respon peserta didik sebesar 91% dengan kriteria sangat layak dan nilai rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,76 dengan kriteria sedang. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan e-modul menggunakan website genially sangat layak dan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study, conducted by Delphy Martni Selan, is entitled “The Use of Problem- Based Learning Model Assisted by Video Media to Improve Student Learning Outcomes on the IPAS material ‘My Indonesia is Rich in Biodiversity” in Class V of SD Negeri Oebobo 1, Kupang City”. The pusose of the research was to improve student learning outcomes through the application of the Problem-Based Learning model supported by video media. The research question was: How can the use of the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by video media improve student learning outcome on the IPAS material “My Indonesia, Rich in Biodiversity”? This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and tests, and reflection. The subjectsof the study were 34 fifth-grade students of SD Neger Oebobo 1. Data were collected through observation and test tec hniques, and anlyed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches. The findings indicated that in cycle I, 25 students (74%) achieved mastery, while 9 students (26,47%) didi not. Students who suceeded paid attention to the teacher’s explanation, cooperatedin groups, presented discussion results, and were able to compete worksheets and test corrrectly. Meanwhile, students who failed tended to be inatentive, played during lesson, and were unable to complete worksheets or tests properly. In cycle II, significant improvement was observed, with 32 students (94%) achieving mastery. These students demonstrated greater focus, stronger collaboration, active participation in discussions, confidence in completing evaluation tests. However, 2 students (5,88%) had not yet achieved mastery, as they were self- focused and less attentive to the teacher’s explanations.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of digital-based audio-visual media on elementary students’ reading comprehension skills through a qualitative meta analysis approach. The background of this study stems from the persistent issue of low reading comprehension among Indonesian students, as reflected in national and international assessments. The research employs a thematic synthesis model adapted from Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis approach. A total of 20 SINTA-indexed journal articles published between 2021–2025 were selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed based on reading comprehension types (literal, interpretative, critical, and creative), subject content, digital audio visual media types, and the research results. The findings show that most studies report positive impacts of digital audio-visual media in improving students' reading comprehension. The dominant levels found were literal and interpretative, with some studies also highlighting critical and creative comprehension. Various media formats such as interactive videos, digital comics, E-bigbook, Literacy Cloud, Edpuzzle, and Flipbook were effectively used. The research concludes that digital based audio-visual media serve not only to support reading comprehension skills but also foster motivation, creativity, and digital literacy among elementary school students.

Abstract

This study is entitled “Description of Housewives’ Skills in Training on Managing Plastic Bottle Waste into Decorative Flowers in Percukaian, Binjai City.” The background of this study is the increasing problem of household plastic waste, particularly in market environments, mostly generated by housewives’ daily activities. Improperly managed plastic waste can cause environmental pollution; however, if processed creatively, it can become handicraft products with aesthetic and economic value. This study aims to describe the skills of housewives in participating in training on managing plastic bottle waste into decorative flowers as a form of productive skills and community empowerment. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with four housewives in Percukaian, Binjai City, as the research subjects. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that housewives’ skills in managing plastic bottle waste through training can be described in several aspects: recycling skills, product management skills, creativity and aesthetic skills, entrepreneurship skills, and cooperation and communication skills. In general, the housewives’ skills developed quite well, as evidenced by their ability to select materials, cut and shape plastic bottles, color them, and arrange them into decorative flowers. However, limitations were found in design variety and marketing strategies. This training had positive impacts, including improving housewives’ knowledge and skills, raising awareness of the importance of waste management, and creating opportunities to increase family income through handicraft products.
