Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

Epistemology is the branch of philosophy to talk about resources, structure, methods and validity of knowledge. Al Ghazali form parsialty of islam philosopher who critical thinking of changeable from in fiqih – scholastic theology – mystical philosophy – philosophy – and mysticism expert. This paper form to analysis epistemology of islam who according to Al Ghazali. The method in this study with a literature review, tha data collected is qualitative data. The problem that arises in this study is how the concept of Al Ghazali, a wll-known Islamic philosopher, towards epistemology which discusses scientific knowledge.

Critical thinking skills and science process skills are an important part of 21st century competencies that must be possessed by students. One of the efforts that can be done to improve these abilities is by utilizing learning media designed in accordance with the right learning model. This study aimed at developing E-LKPD integrated with the Problem Based Learning model, to improve students' critical thinking skills and science process skills. The research was development research using the Plomp model, through the stages of initial investigation, design in the form of E-LKPD based on the Live Worksheet Platform, so that it was interactive and can be accessed online. The research on this E-LKPD was carried out through validity, practicality, and effectiveness tests. The results showed that the E-LKPD integrated with Problem Based Learning has a high level of validity both material validity and media validity. The effectiveness test is proven to improve critical thinking skills and science process skills. Thus, The E-LKPD is suitable to be used as learning media in teaching science in junior high school.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of project-based learning (PjBL) on student learning outcomes and engagement in natural and social sciences (IPAS) at the elementary school level. This study was driven by low academic achievement and low student participation in IPAS classes, which generally use traditional teaching methods. This study used a quantitative approach with a non-equivalent control group design, with fifth-grade students from SDN Heuleut 1 participating in both experimental and control groups. Expert evaluation confirmed the feasibility of the PjBL learning tool (90.90%), and student feedback indicated high applicability (88.43%). The t-test showed a significant improvement in the experimental group (t-value 15.75 > t-value 2.045), with an average pre-test score of 55.08 increasing to 82.27 in the post-test. Furthermore, student participation in the experimental class also increased significantly. These findings indicate that PjBL is an effective approach to improve student achievement and engagement in IPAS learning at the elementary school level.

This research was motivated by the low reading comprehension learning outcomes in Indonesian among sixth-grade students at SDN Kedoya Selatan 04 Pagi, particularly for explanatory texts. Conventional learning makes it difficult for students to understand complex text structures and leads to less active engagement. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of the PQRST (Preview, Question, Read, Summarize, Test) method on students' reading comprehension learning outcomes.This study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest quasi-experimental design. The sample consisted of 30 sixth-grade B students selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using a multiple-choice test to measure learning outcomes (pretest-posttest).The results showed a significant improvement. The average student score jumped from 43.10 in the pretest to 80.60 in the posttest. The coefficient of determination test showed that the application of the PQRST method contributed 79.6% to the reading comprehension learning outcome. Furthermore, the hypothesis test obtained a value of 0.001 < 0.05, confirming that H1 was accepted.Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in sixth-grade students' Indonesian reading comprehension learning outcomes after implementing the PQRST method.

The background of this research is the low interest and reading ability of students, as reflected by the minimal visits to the library and reading corners, as well as the lack of reading habits both at school and at home. To address this problem, this study aims to examine and analyze the implementation of literacy journal activities in improving the reading skills of elementary school students and to identify and analyze the impact of these literacy journal activities. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, employing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The validity of the data is strengthened through triangulation techniques and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The results show that literacy journal activities significantly improve students’ reading abilities, as evidenced by an 88.89% literacy achievement in the educational report. Besides the improvement in reading skills, these activities also have a positive impact on increasing students’ interest in reading, enhancing their self-confidence, and strengthening the involvement of parents and teachers in supporting the students’ learning process. Thus, literacy journal activities are proven to be effective and are recommended to be implemented sustainably as a strategy to improve the literacy culture in elementary schools.

This study aims to determine the effect of game-based mathematics learning media on mathematical problem-solving abilities at the Muhammadiyah Kampung Bharu Malaysia Guidance Center. The population and sample of this study were grade 4 with 12 students as the experimental class. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, pretest and posttest tests and documentation. The research design in this study was One-Group Pretest-Postest. The results of the study obtained a t-test with a sig value of 0.000 with decision making if the sig value <0.05 then H1 is accepted and Ho is rejected. Thus, there is an Effect of Game-Based Mathematics Learning Media on Mathematical Problem-Solving Ability at the Muhammadiyah Kampung Bharu Malaysia Guidance Center.

This qualitative research aims to describe the strategies employed by teachers in addressing slow learners in mathematics subjects. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students at SD Negeri 116/IV Kota Jambi. The study was conducted from March to April 2025. Data were collected through observation, student questionnaires, and interviews with classroom teachers. The findings revealed that slow learners exhibit certain characteristics, such as limited cognitive capacity, low memory retention, difficulty concentrating, and challenges in expressing ideas verbally. To address these issues, teachers implemented several strategies, including simplifying instructional materials, using concrete teaching aids, regularly repeating lessons, and creating a conducive learning environment. In addition, teachers provided positive reinforcement to boost students’ self-confidence. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for educators in designing appropriate instructional strategies for students with diverse learning needs and to contribute to further research in the field of elementary education.

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of mini-book media on the material of cultural diversity in Indonesia on the learning outcomes of students at the Kampung Bharu Malaysia Learning Center. This study is expected to find new insights that can be the basis for better educational policies and learning practices at the elementary level. This type of research is quantitative research with an experimental approach and a one-group pretest-posttest research design. Data collection techniques include observation, tests, and documentation. The subjects in this study were grade 4 with a total of 18 students. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of mini-book media on the material of cultural diversity in Indonesia on the learning outcomes of students at the Kampung Bharu Malaysia Learning Center with the results of the t-test obtained a significant value of 0.000 <0.05 so that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.

Self-esteem plays an important role in students’ lives as it influences how they deal with various academic demands that may potentially cause stress. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-esteem and academic stress among students of SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The population consisted of all 360 students of grade XI, with a sample of 78 students determined using Slovin’s formula. The sampling technique used was Simple Random Sampling with the help of a picker wheel. Data were collected through psychological scales, namely the self-esteem scale and the academic stress scale. The results of the study indicated that the majority of students’ self-esteem levels were in the moderate category with a percentage of 38.5% (30 students), while academic stress levels were also mostly in the moderate category with a percentage of 44.9% (35 students). Hypothesis testing using the product moment correlation formula obtained a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.685 with a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05). This finding shows a significant negative relationship between self-esteem and academic stress among students of SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya. In other words, the higher the students’ self-esteem, the lower the level of academic stress experienced, and vice versa. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for schools, especially guidance and counseling teachers, in designing programs or services aimed at enhancing students’ self-esteem so they can better manage academic stress.

Education serves not merely as a channel for transferring academic content but also as a space where learners can develop a variety of essential abilities. Among these abilities, creativity is considered a central competence that must be nurtured from the early years of elementary education. Yet, in practice, numerous elementary schools continue to depend on outdated instructional methods, which often restrict opportunities for students to think imaginatively. To overcome this challenge, it is necessary to apply teaching strategies that actively stimulate creative growth, and one promising alternative is the project-based learning model. The objectives of this study are twofold: first, to examine whether project-based learning has a positive effect on enhancing creativity among elementary students, and second, to explore in detail how this instructional model can be practically implemented in classroom contexts. Adopting a qualitative methodology in the form of library research, this study reviews relevant literature and finds that project-based learning strengthens creativity through six systematic stages accompanied by project-oriented activities. These findings suggest that project-based learning provides a valuable contribution as an innovative instructional approach that can be integrated into elementary education to foster students’ creative capacities.
