Abstract

This study was motivated by the necessity to enhance students' skills in problem-solving and formulating innovative solutions for local natural resource (SDA) issues, which are fundamental to environmental citizenship. Initial observations indicated that while students possess basic knowledge of SDA (air, soil, plants, animals), their understanding and application of sustainable management, analysis of exploitation impacts, and proposal of creative solutions were still diverse and needed improvement. This research aims to investigate the influence of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on the ability of fifth-grade students to formulate creative and innovative solutions for local SDA problems. The study employed a Quasi-Experimental design with a sample of fifth-grade students from SD Negeri Gayamsari 02. The PjBL model was implemented through a project titled "Local SDA: Between Benefits and Our Responsibility," where students identified local SDA problems and designed creative action plans. The primary instrument used was a Performance Assessment Rubric focusing on Creativity (DPL 4) and Citizenship (DPL 2) through the presentation of action plans and product creation (posters/infographics). The results showed a significant improvement in the experimental group's ability to formulate innovative solutions (DPL 4) and demonstrate responsible citizenship (DPL 2). Specifically, the average score for the "Creativity and Originality" aspect increased by 25% compared to the baseline group. The PjBL model effectively provided a meaningful and collaborative learning experience, enabling students to connect conceptual knowledge with procedural skills in analyzing problems and creating practical, original solutions for sustainable SDA management. The study concludes that the Project-Based Learning model significantly influences the skill of formulating innovative solutions for local SDA issues in elementary school students.

Abstract

This research was conducted due to the low artistic skills and creativity of early grade students in grade I of Elementary School. Initial observations conducted at the pre-development stage showed that many students had difficulty in expressing ideas visually and lacked originality in their artwork, as well as the lack of learning media that could integrate interactive technology with real project experiences at the elementary level. This research took 28 grade I elementary school students as subjects. This research aims to: (1) describe the process of developing PjBL-based Interactive E-Modules, (2) describe the level of feasibility (validity and practicality) of PjBL-based Interactive E-Modules, and (3) describe the results of testing the effectiveness of PjBL-based Interactive E-Modules in art learning to improve students' artistic skills and creativity. The research methodology used a mix methods method. Research Results: (a) The process of developing PjBL-based Interactive E-Modules follows the PjBL steps: Syntax 1: Determining Basic Questions. Syntax 2: Preparing Project Planning (Project Design). Syntax 3: Schedule Preparation. Syntax 4: Implementation (Monitoring Students). Syntax 5: Assess the Outcome. Syntax 6: Evaluate the Experience. (b) The developed Interactive E-Module received a very good validation score from material and media experts, and was deemed very good by teachers and students. (c) The effectiveness test results showed a 61% increase in average art skills scores and a 30% increase in average creativity scores compared to before the module was used. The implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL)-based Interactive E-Module in art learning created an active, digital, and product-oriented learning environment, thereby increasing students' motivation, participation, and artistic skill achievement. This study concluded that the Project-Based Learning (PjBL)-based Interactive E-Module was effective in improving artistic skills and creativity in first-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This paper discusses the increasing attention to the mental health of elementary school-aged children, particularly regarding the potential for the emergence of Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) symptoms at an early age. The school environment plays a crucial role in shaping a child's personality and social behavior, making early detection and prevention of NPD crucial. This paper aims to review research trends on early detection and prevention strategies for NPD in schools between 2020 and 2025, encompassing psychological approaches, the roles of teachers and school counselors, and the effectiveness of implemented interventions. This research method uses a systematic literature review approach by analyzing 20 Google Scholar-indexed journal articles relevant to the topic of NPD in elementary school-aged children during that time period. The results of the study indicate that (1) research on NPD in the school environment has begun to increase post-pandemic with a focus on children's mental health and social behavior, (2) early detection strategies utilize behavioral observation, simple psychological assessments, and parental involvement, and (3) effective prevention efforts are carried out through character education, empathy building, and emotional management in the classroom. The conclusion of this study confirms that early detection and prevention of NPD in students at school is very important for building an emotionally healthy learning environment, and can be a basis for developing psychological intervention programs in schools in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to reexamine the dynamics of decentralization during President Soekarno’s administration, particularly in the Guided Democracy period (1959–1965), which was characterized by tension between democratic ideals and strong political control. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and the library research method, this study analyzes various academic literatures, legal documents, and historical sources relevant to the decentralization policy of that era. The findings reveal that although the government formally promoted regional autonomy through the enactment of Law Number 18 of 1965 on the Principles of Regional Government, its implementation instead reinforced the centralization of power in the hands of the central government. Regional leaders were directly accountable to the president rather than to the people, causing regional autonomy to lose its substantive meaning. Decentralization policies during Soekarno’s era functioned more as instruments of political stability and national integration than as mechanisms of local democratization. The hierarchical pattern of center–regional relations formed at that time continued throughout the New Order and was only corrected after the 1998 Reform era. This study concludes that decentralization without sufficient delegation of political and fiscal authority merely reproduces a new form of centralization. Therefore, the experience of the Guided Democracy period should serve as a reflection for modern decentralization policies to emphasize a balance between political trust, regional autonomy, and national integration.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has brought profound transformations to the field of education, particularly in elementary schools. Learning in the digital era requires continuous innovation to ensure that teaching practices remain relevant and effective. Elementary schools play a crucial role in preparing students to adapt to technological developments by integrating digital tools into classroom activities. Teachers are now expected to utilize technology to create learning experiences that are more interactive, engaging, and meaningful. This study aims to analyze the impact of technology-based learning media on students’ conceptual understanding in elementary education. The research adopts a descriptive analytical approach through a comprehensive review of relevant studies and theoretical frameworks concerning technology integration in learning. The results show that digital learning media significantly improve students’ motivation, participation, and comprehension of abstract concepts. Visual and interactive media—such as educational applications, animations, and digital simulations—enable students to connect prior knowledge with new information, fostering deeper conceptual understanding. Nevertheless, several challenges remain, including limited infrastructure, lack of teacher readiness, and the persistence of conventional teaching methods in many schools. Addressing these challenges requires systematic efforts to strengthen teachers’ digital literacy, provide adequate facilities, and design creative, student-centered learning media. The findings of this study are expected to contribute theoretically to the discourse on technology integration in primary education and practically to guide teachers in implementing effective digital-based learning strategies. Abstract

This study analyzes patterns of Indonesian articulation errors among elementary school students in Wamena and compares findings across two schools to formulate context-specific pedagogical recommendations. Using a descriptive approach based on observational data of target-word articulations, errors were classified into substitution, distortion, elision, and epenthesis, guided by a contextual phonological framework and stakeholder interviews as the methodological design and rationale. Results from 70 students (40 from SD Lachairoi Hom-Hom; 30 from SD YPPGI Napua) show mean articulation errors per student of 3.3 (Lachairoi) and 3.1 (Napua). The most frequent patterns at both schools were /r/→/l/ substitution (9 cases at Lachairoi; 7 at Napua), /s/ distortion (five cases at each school), /k/ substitution (predominantly /k/→/g/ or /k/→/t/ at Lachairoi; notably /k/→/t/ at YPPGI Napua), elision of final –n (more frequent at Lachairoi), and epenthesis (present at both sites). The findings indicate that local first-language phonological interference strongly contributes to variation in Indonesian articulation. Accordingly, phonetic instruction grounded in local cultural knowledge and stepwise articulatory training targeting critical contrasts (/r/–/l/, /k/–/g/–/t/, fricative /s/) is recommended.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on education, particularly in terms of innovation in learning design. This study aims to develop a technology-based interactive learning design that can increase student engagement in the learning process. The research method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. The study subjects consisted of high school students participating in technology-based learning in several subjects. Data were obtained through observations, interviews, and questionnaires to measure student engagement levels before and after the implementation of the learning design. The results show that technology-based interactive learning design can increase student active participation, strengthen conceptual understanding, and create a collaborative and enjoyable learning environment. Interactive features such as digital simulations, online quizzes, and learning management systems (LMS) have proven effective in increasing student motivation and attention. Thus, the development of technology-based interactive learning design is an important strategy in supporting the transformation of 21st-century education that emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and independent learning.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the literacy skills of children aged 4–5 years through the use of Wooden Puzzle media at KB Bintang Harapan. The method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles including planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants consisted of 7 children. The results showed a significant improvement in children’s literacy skills. In the pre-cycle stage, none of the children achieved mastery (0%). In Cycle I, literacy mastery increased to 60% (4 children). In Cycle II, all children mastered the literacy indicators (100%). These findings demonstrate that the Wooden Puzzle media effectively enhances children’s interest and provides concrete learning experiences, thus successfully improving early childhood literacy skills.

Abstract

Local Own Source Revenue (PAD) is a crucial component in assessing the level of fiscal independence and the ability of local governments to finance development autonomously. However, the contribution of PAD in Padang Pariaman Regency’s Revised Local Government Budget (APBD) for 2024 remains low less than ten percent of the total regional revenue indicating high fiscal dependency on central government transfers. This study aims to analyze the current condition of PAD in Padang Pariaman Regency, identify the key factors hindering its growth, and formulate relevant optimization strategies to strengthen local fiscal independence. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method through document analysis of local government regulations, Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) reports, and recent academic literature. The findings reveal that the low PAD contribution is influenced by a narrow local tax base, low taxpayer compliance, limited capacity of financial management personnel, and unproductive asset utilization. Recommended strategies include tax and levy intensification and extensification, productive asset management, implementation of digital-based tax and levy systems, and enhancement of transparency and public participation. The consistent implementation of these strategies is expected to strengthen fiscal independence, expand fiscal space for development, and promote transparent, accountable, and sustainable local financial governance.

Abstract

Character education is an important aspect of the education system that aims to shape individuals with good morals, ethics, and values. The implementation of character education in schools faces several challenges, such as a lack of resources, a lack of awareness of the importance of character education, and a lack of teacher ability to implement character education. Evaluating character education becomes very important to determine the extent to which character education has been successfully implemented and to identify areas that need improvement. This research aims to analyze the implementation of character education in schools and identify the challenges faced in its implementation. The research results indicate that character education can be effectively implemented thru the integration of character values into the curriculum, extracurricular activities, and school culture. Character education can be evaluated thru observation, assessment, and self-evaluation to determine the extent to which character education has been successfully implemented.
