Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

The general purpose of this research is to improve children's language literacy skills through the application of interactive and enjoyable singing methods using alphabet card media. The specific objectives of this research are to improve children's ability to recognize letters, expand their vocabulary, understand song content, and practice listening and speaking skills through musical activities. The research method used was Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of four stages: planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research was conducted in two cycles, with 13 children aged 3-4 years in the Insan Cendekia Playgroup for the 2025/2026 academic year as the research subjects. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and field notes, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively. The expected outcomes of this research are the improvement of children's language literacy skills through the singing method using alphabet card media, the increased creativity of teachers in designing music-based learning, and the development of a practical guide for applying the singing method to improve early childhood literacy. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of active, fun, and meaningful PAUD learning.

The use of inappropriate learning media can have an impact on the lack of understanding of fraction material. Therefore, this study aims to develop fraction E-Puzzle for 3rd grade students in elementary schools. This study uses Research and Development (R&D) development using the ADDIE model. Data analysis uses qualitative and quantitative methods. The data collection instruments used were validation sheets from material, media and language experts, student questionnaires, teacher questionnaires, pretest and posttest questions, and interview guidelines. Validation results show that material experts reach 82%, media experts reach 92%, while language experts reach 92%, all three are categorized as very feasible. The pre-test results were 62% and the post-test 85.33%, which showed an increase of 23.33%. Student responses to E-Puzzle reach 90.4%, while teacher responses reach 92%, both are categorized as very good. Thus, E-Puzzle fractions are feasible, practical and effective to improve the learning outcomes of 3rd grade students in elementary schools and can be a solution in overcoming students' difficulties in understanding fraction material.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh beberapa permasalahan yaitu kurangnya keterampilan menulis siswa dalam menuangkan ide atau gagasan kedalam bentuk tulisan serta belum optimalnya pendekatan pembelajaran yang digunakan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh pendekatan whole language terhadap keterampilan menulis teks naratif berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi pada peserta didik kelas 5 SDN 4 Pangkalanbaru. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi experiment dengan desain penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah sampling jenuh. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas 5 yang terdiri dari kelas eksperimen sebanyak 18 peserta didik dan kelas kontrol sebanyak 18 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes berupa essay satu soal. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji normalitas menggunakan Shapiro-Wilk, uji homogenitas menggunakan uji Levene, dan uji hipotesis menggunakan uji Independents Sample T- Test. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini data menunjukkan bahwa uji Independents Sample T- Test sig (2-tailed) sebesar 0,045 < 0,05 dengan nilai thitung (2,086) > ttabel (2,032). Maka Ha diterima, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan whole language terhadap keterampilan menulis teks naratif berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi pada peserta didik kelas 5 SDN 4 Pangkalanbaru.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of reading literacy through the “reading corner” activity among lower-grade elementary school students. The background of this research is based on the low reading interest of elementary school students, which requires early habituation strategies to foster reading habits. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with participants consisting of second-grade students from a public elementary school selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through classroom observations of reading corner activities, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation such as activity photos and book collection lists. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the reading corner contributes positively to increasing students’ reading interest and motivation, enriching their vocabulary, and developing independent reading habits. However, several challenges were identified, including limited book variety, students’ lack of discipline in maintaining reading materials, and insufficient teacher follow-up. Overall, the reading corner is proven to be an effective strategy for promoting a culture of reading literacy in lower elementary classrooms, particularly when managed consistently with adequate facilities and teacher creativity.

Based on observations during the Community Service Program (KKN) in Manera Village, Salomekko District, Bone Regency, it was identified that the majority of residents work as farmers and livestock breeders. Rice straw, as agricultural waste, is often not optimally utilized, even though it has the potential to be used as silage as a nutritious animal feed. The aim of this program is to provide training to the community on practical, efficient rice straw silage making techniques that can increase the availability of animal feed throughout the year. Activities are carried out through extension methods, direct demonstrations, and practice with the Manera village community. The results of the activities show high community enthusiasm and increased skills in processing rice straw into quality animal feed.

Contextual project planning with themes close to students' daily lives; (2) the application of collaborative methods through group discussions and assignments according to ability; (3) gradual guidance by providing initial direction as well as space for exploration; and (4) product and process-based evaluation that emphasizes originality, innovation, and the development of student ideas. This strategy has been proven to be able to generate creative ideas, increase the courage This study aims to analyze the strategies of elementary school teachers in fostering student creativity through the implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL). Creativity is an essential 21st-century skill that needs to be developed from the elementary education level, but learning practices in elementary schools still tend to be oriented towards memorization and cognitive achievement. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with three teachers and fifteen students selected through purposive sampling in one elementary school. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation studies, then analyzed using thematic analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that teachers apply four main strategies, namely: (1to express opinions, and foster students' self-confidence in their work. These findings confirm the importance of the teacher's role as a facilitator of creative learning and strengthen the results of previous research on the effectiveness of PjBL, by adding a new contribution in the form of details of teachers' pedagogical strategies in the elementary school context.Kata Kunci: creativity, teacher strategies, elementary schools, project-based learning

Transformasi teknologi di era revolusi Industri 4.0 telah mengubah arah dan paradigma pendidikan secara global, termasuk dalam konteks pendidikan Indonesia. Proses pembelajaran tidak lagi sekadar berfokus pada penyampaian informasi, melainkan juga menuntut kemampuan untuk mengintegrasikan teknologi secara efektif. Literasi digital menjadi kompetensi utama yang wajib dimiliki oleh tenaga pendidik agar mampu menciptakan pembelajaran yang kreatif, kolaboratif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan abad ke-21. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis sejauh mana guru mampu menggunakan media Canva sebagai alat bantu dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang kreatif di SMPN 2 Galesong Selatan, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan tersebut. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui teknik wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, diperoleh temuan bahwa kompetensi guru berada pada tingkat cukup memadai. Guru telah memiliki kemampuan teknis yang baik dalam penggunaan Canva, namun penerapan prinsip-prinsip pedagogis dalam pembelajaran masih perlu ditingkatkan. Sebagian besar guru telah mampu membuat media visual seperti poster dan infografis, tetapi belum mengintegrasikannya secara sistematis dalam pembelajaran interaktif. Faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan guru meliputi tingkat literasi digital, keterbatasan pelatihan profesional, dan minimnya infrastruktur sekolah. Meskipun demikian, guru menunjukkan sikap positif terhadap Canva karena dianggap mudah digunakan dan menarik secara visual. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penguasaan media digital seperti Canva merupakan bagian integral dari kompetensi profesional guru yang mendukung terwujudnya pembelajaran kreatif, kolaboratif, dan berorientasi abad ke-21.

This study aims to explain the role of philosophical foundations—ontology, epistemology, and axiology—as a basis for strategic decision-making in educational management. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through contemporary literature analysis, the findings reveal that these three philosophical dimensions function integratively in shaping the direction, knowledge mechanisms, and ethical values underlying educational policies. Ontology provides orientation regarding the essence of education and institutional purpose; epistemology offers a knowledge framework and data-driven foundation for decisions; while axiology safeguards ethics, justice, and human values in policy implementation. The results are visualized through bar charts, pie charts, radar charts, and concept maps to illustrate the relationships among dimensions. The study concludes that the quality of strategic decisions is highly dependent on how well educational leaders understand and integrate these philosophical dimensions. Such integration is essential for creating visionary, knowledge-based, and ethically grounded policies in responding to modern educational challenges.

Critical thinking and creativity are two essential 21st-century competencies that must be developed from the elementary school level. However, learning practices in many schools still tend to focus on academic outcomes and provide limited opportunities for students to experiment and innovate. This article aims to examine the role of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in enhancing elementary school students’ creativity and critical thinking skills through a literature review approach. The study utilizes various national and international academic references published between 2015 and 2025 that are relevant to the theories, implementation, and empirical findings of PjBL. The analysis is conducted descriptively by reviewing and comparing previous studies based on key thematic areas. The results indicate that PjBL effectively creates a student-centered learning environment that promotes collaboration, inquiry, reflection, and contextual problem-solving skills, all of which contribute significantly to improving students’ creativity and critical thinking. Therefore, the application of PjBL aligns with the principles of 21st-century learning and supports the Merdeka Belajar (Freedom to Learn) policy, which emphasizes student independence and active learning. Future research is recommended to explore the effectiveness of technology-based and collaborative PjBL implementation within the context of elementary education.

This study aims to describe the application of the audio-visual-based Make a Match type cooperative model can increase student learning motivation in Indonesian language lessons in grade V elementary school. This research was conducted at SDN 013 Sungai Tarap, Kampa District, Kampar Regency. The form of this research is class action research. This research data was obtained by means of observation. After that the data was analyzed qualitatively. This research was carried out in two cycles, with four stages, namely the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Based on the results of the research by applying the audio-visual-based Make a Match learning model in Indonesian language lessons can increase student learning motivation. This is because students experience increased motivation by paying attention to each indicator of motivation in learning can be seen in each cycle of meetings. In cycle I, it is known that the level of student learning motivation is only in the “medium” classification with a percentage of only reaching 67%, meaning that it has not reached the expected indicators in this study, and after improvements are made in the second cycle, it increases to the “Very High” classification with a percentage reaching 86.5%.
