Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Fitness Education model in improving physical fitness and to analyze its effect on students' learning concentration in Physical Education (PJOK) classes. The study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental design. The sampling technique used was total sampling, involving all 82 fifth-grade students of SDN 065 Cihampelas. The research instruments included the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI) and the Concentration Grid Test (CGT). The results showed that the implementation of the Fitness Education model improved students’ physical fitness and learning concentration. In conclusion, the Fitness Education model is effective in enhancing physical fitness and learning concentration among elementary school students in Physical Education classes.   Keywords: Concentration Grid Test, Fitness Education, Physical Fitness, Learning Concentration, Elementary School Students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the management of the traditional game megangsing, including planning, organizing, implementation, and monitoring in order to preserve local culture. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation analysis involving community leaders, megangsing participants, and residents of Gobleg Village. The results show that the management of the traditional game megangsing in Gobleg Village has been carried out quite well with support from traditional leaders, youth, and the community. However, aspects of documentation, promotion, and player regeneration still need to be improved to ensure the sustainability of this traditional game. In conclusion, the management of the traditional game megangsing in Gobleg Village has been implemented well, but requires improvements in documentation, promotion, and player regeneration to ensure sustainable cultural preservation and to serve as a reference for managing traditional games.   Keywords: Cultural Preservation, Gobleg Village, Management, Megangsing, Traditional Games

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the role of the non-academic achievement pathway (sports) in the Student Admission Selection (SPMB) toward the development of students’ sports talents at SMA Negeri Terawas. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies involving informants such as the vice principal for student affairs, SPMB committee members, sports coaches, and students admitted through the achievement pathway. The results show that the sports achievement pathway serves as an entry point for talented students to receive more structured coaching through extracurricular activities. The presence of these students also contributes positively to improving school achievements and identity in sports. In conclusion, the sports achievement pathway plays an important role in developing students' talents; however, its implementation still requires better support in terms of facilities, specialized coaches, and effective training time management.   Keywords: Achievement Pathway, Sports, Talent Development, Senior High Scool, SPMB

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine how to improve backhand learning outcomes in badminton material using triangle games for students of class XI. The research method used in this study is to use the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method. This research was conducted at SMA, while the subjects of this research were students of class XI SMA which amounted to 42 people. For research instruments used in this study is an assessment based on three aspects, namely cognitive, affective and psychomotor. Based on the results of the study it is known that student learning outcomes have increased from pre-cycle to cycle II, namely, pre-cycle (24%), cycle I (64%), cycle II (100%). The conclusion of this study is that using triangle games can have a positive effect on the learning outcomes of backhand in badminton games for students of class XI SMA.   Keywords: Backhand, Badminton, Learning Outcome, Triangle Games

Abstract

Learning the 50 meter sprint in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) at the elementary school level is still predominantly monotonous, which has resulted in low student learning outcomes. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of deep learning based traditional games, the differences between this approach and conventional learning, and the magnitude of improvement in the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students. The study employed a Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design, involving an experimental class of 32 students and a control class of 30 students. The research instruments consisted of cognitive tests, affective questionnaires, and a 50 meter sprint performance test, with data analyzed using the SPSS program. The results indicate that deep learning based traditional games are effective and significantly improve 50 meter sprint learning outcomes, as shown by a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The improvement in the experimental group was higher than in the control group, with an N-Gain percentage of 67.87% (moderate to high category), while the control group achieved only 26.00% (low category). These findings confirm that deep learning based traditional games are more effective than conventional learning. The implications of this study highlight the importance of PJOK teachers integrating traditional games as a contextual and meaningful alternative learning strategy to enhance student motivation, active engagement, and the overall quality of learning experiences. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and postural balance and correlation in students aged 11–13 years at SMP Negeri 26 Bandung. The study used a correlational design with a quantitative approach and stratified random sampling technique, with a sample size of 72 students. BMI was measured based on weight and height, postural balance was measured using a composite score, and turning using the V-sit and Reach tests. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test showed that the BMI data were not normally distributed, so the correlation analysis used the Spearman Rank test, while the Pearson test was used for the underweight category. The results showed no significant relationship between BMI and postural balance (ρ = 0.035; p > 0.05) or initial (ρ = -0.100; p > 0.05), including in the underweight, ideal, and overweight BMI categories. It was concluded that BMI had no significant relationship with students' postural balance and cycling, suggesting that motor skills were more influenced by other factors such as physical activity, neuromuscular coordination, and movement experience. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of authentic assessment in measuring the athletic achievement of elementary school students. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach implemented in three elementary schools, with research subjects including principals, Physical Education teachers, and athletic students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used an interactive model through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that authentic assessment has been implemented in athletic learning through performance-based assessment, process observation, and providing feedback on running, jumping, and throwing activities, but the level of consistency and depth of implementation varies between schools and teachers. Authentic assessment is able to provide a more objective and contextual picture of student athletic achievement, although its implementation still faces obstacles such as limited teacher competence, minimal ongoing training, and uneven school support. The conclusion of this study shows that authentic assessment has the potential to be an effective evaluation instrument in measuring the athletic achievement of elementary school students if supported by increased teacher capacity, applicable assessment guidelines, and school policies that support consistent implementation. Abstract

Rowing requires cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, technical efficiency, and consistent performance throughout the 2000-meter run. Unfortunately, training programs are still dominated by land-based training, which does not accurately reflect the specific conditions and demands of rowing in water. The combination of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Resistance Training (RT) has been shown to improve physiological capacity; however, its direct application in water is rarely studied. This study aims to analyze the effect of the combination of HIIT and RT performed in water on improving the performance of rowing athletes. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive approach with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest design involving active rowing athletes in Bandung City. The research instrument was a 2000-meter on-water rowing test. The results showed a significant increase in 2000-meter rowing performance after participants received a combination of HIIT and RT training compared to before receiving the training. The combination of HIIT and RT in water has proven to be an effective and applicable training model for improving the performance of rowing athletes. Therefore, we recommend that trainers integrate both HIIT and RT training methods into their performance coaching programs. Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between discipline and sportsmanship among students participating in the futsal extracurricular program at SMAN 1 Cipatat. The study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design to obtain empirical evidence regarding the association between the two variables. The sample consisted of 30 students who actively participated in the futsal extracurricular activity and were selected using purposive sampling based on specific criteria. The research instruments were discipline and sportsmanship questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The reliability test results showed Cronbach’s Alpha coefficients of 0.893 for the discipline variable and 0.918 for the sportsmanship variable, indicating high internal consistency. Data analysis was conducted using the Shapiro–Wilk normality test to ensure data distribution, followed by a correlation test to examine the relationship between variables. The findings revealed a significant relationship between discipline and sportsmanship, with a correlation coefficient of -0.570 and a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). The coefficient indicates a moderate level of correlation with a negative direction. Therefore, it can be concluded that discipline has a significant relationship with students’ sportsmanship in the futsal extracurricular activity at SMAN 1 Cipatat. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of modified zig-zag run games on improving the dribbling skills of 12-year-old Triad Abadi futsal players. The research method used was a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The population consisted of elementary school–aged futsal players participating in training at the Triad Abadi futsal club in Rancakalong, Sumedang. The sample included 20 players selected using purposive sampling, with criteria including approximately 12 years of age, active participation in training, and no injuries that could hinder training activities. The research instrument used a zig-zag dribbling skill test to measure ball control, agility, and change-of-direction ability while dribbling. The research procedure included a pretest, followed by a treatment in the form of modified zig-zag run training for 6 weeks with a frequency of three training sessions per week, and ended with a posttest. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and Paired Sample t-test with SPSS software. The results showed a significant improvement in dribbling skills after the treatment, indicated by a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 (< 0.05). The mean score decreased from 19.70 in the pretest to 17.76 in the posttest, indicating an improvement in players' dribbling performance. Therefore, the modified zig-zag run game is proven to be effective in improving the dribbling skills of 12-year-old futsal players.
