Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between learning motivation and learning outcomes in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) among fourth-grade elementary school students in the Cimalaka District. The method used was a quantitative approach with a correlational design through an ex post facto method. The sample consisted of 40 students selected using a multistage sampling technique. Data collection instruments included a learning motivation questionnaire adapted from the Expectancy–Value Theory and documentation of authentic PJOK learning outcomes. The results showed a significant positive relationship between learning motivation and PJOK learning outcomes. In conclusion, learning motivation is an important factor in determining PJOK learning outcomes; therefore, strengthening expectancy and task value aspects is essential in the learning process.   Keywords: Elementary School, Expectancy-Value, Learning Motivation, PJOK Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of the implementation of the Deep Learning learning model on students’ learning motivation in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) subjects at the elementary school level. The method used was a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design of the one-group pretest–posttest type. The sample consisted of 30 students from grades IV–VI selected through random sampling techniques. The research instrument was a learning motivation questionnaire based on a Likert scale. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and inferentially using SPSS through normality tests, paired sample t-tests, and simple linear regression. The results showed that there was an increase in students’ learning motivation after the implementation of the learning model, as indicated by an increase in the average score from 51.53 to 67.03. In addition, there was a significant difference between before and after treatment, as well as a very strong contribution of the learning model to students’ learning motivation. In conclusion, the Deep Learning learning model is effective in improving students’ learning motivation and is recommended as an innovative learning strategy in PJOK learning at the elementary school level.   Keywords: Deep Learning, Learning Motivation, Physical Education, Elementary School

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between cardiovascular fitness, body mass index, and the concentration level of Physical Education students. The method used was a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research subjects consisted of 20 students selected using purposive sampling technique. Cardiovascular fitness was measured using the Multistage Fitness Test (bleep test) to estimate VO₂max, body mass index was calculated through anthropometric measurements, while concentration level was measured using the Grid Concentration Test. Data analysis was conducted using normality test, linearity test, and Pearson correlation test with the assistance of IBM SPSS software. The results showed that all data were normally distributed and had linear relationships; however, there was no significant relationship between cardiovascular fitness or body mass index and students’ concentration level. In conclusion, cardiovascular fitness and body mass index are not primary predictors in determining students’ concentration levels in this study.   Keywords: Body Mass Index, Cardiovascular Fitness, Concentration, Students

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the traditional game boy-boyan on improving hand–eye coordination skills of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Pakuwangi. The method used was a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a one group pretest–posttest design involving 22 students selected through total sampling technique. The instrument used was the hand–eye coordination test (Child Ball Test). The results showed an increase in the average score from 11.05 in the pretest to 17.45 in the posttest, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the STEP Model (Space, Task, Equipment, People) on the development of intrapersonal intelligence in elementary school students. Intrapersonal intelligence is a core component of character education, encompassing self-awareness, emotional regulation, self-reflection, and metacognition. These aspects are crucial in helping students understand, manage, and direct themselves effectively in both learning and daily life. This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of 70 third-grade elementary school students, divided proportionally into two groups: the experimental group (n = 35), which received instruction using the STEP Model for twelve weeks, and the control group (n = 35), which followed conventional instruction. The Intrapersonal Intelligence Scale (PKINT) was used as the primary instrument to assess four dimensions: self-awareness, emotional regulation, self-reflection, and metacognition. Data were analyzed using normality and homogeneity tests, followed by an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). The results indicated that the data were normally distributed and the variance between groups was homogeneous. ANCOVA revealed a significant effect of the STEP Model, with F = 32.18 and Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05. Descriptively, the average score of the experimental group increased from 1.91 (pre-test) to 3.94 (post-test), while the control group showed only a slight increase from 1.89 to 2.12. In conclusion, these findings confirm that the STEP Model substantially enhances self-awareness, emotional regulation, self-reflection, and metacognition. Therefore, the STEP Model can be considered an effective and innovative learning approach that fosters intrapersonal intelligence and supports character education in elementary schools. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between arm muscle strength and volleyball underhand passing ability, the relationship between agility and underhand passing ability, and the simultaneous relationship between arm muscle strength and agility and underhand passing ability in elementary school students in Ganeas District. The focus of the study was directed at revealing the role of these two physical condition components as factors supporting basic volleyball technical skills at elementary school age. The method used in this study was a quantitative approach with a correlational design through multiple linear regression analysis. The study involved 15 students as a sample selected using a multistage sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through physical condition tests to measure arm muscle strength and agility, and skills tests to measure underhand passing ability. The data obtained were then analyzed using normality tests, linearity tests, and regression tests to determine the relationship between variables empirically. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and had a linear relationship, thus meeting the requirements for further analysis. Partially, arm muscle strength had a coefficient of 0.549 with a positive relationship, while agility had a coefficient of 0.249 which also indicated a positive relationship to underhand passing ability. However, both variables did not show a statistically significant effect because their respective significance values ​​were greater than 0.05, namely 0.125 for arm muscle strength and 0.372 for agility. The conclusion of this study is that arm muscle strength and agility have a tendency to have a positive relationship with volleyball underhand passing ability in elementary school students, but have not yet provided a statistically significant effect. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the VO2max levels of SSB Java One Top U-15 players and PS Java Top senior players who play in the center midfielder position. The method of this study was quantitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection was conducted through a VO2max test using the Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery Test Level 1 (YYIR1). The research subjects consisted of 11 SSB Java One Top U-15 players and 7 PS Java Top senior players who played in the center midfielder position. The results showed that among the 11 SSB Java One Top U-15 players, none were classified in the high VO2max category, 5 players were in the moderate category, and 6 players were in the low category. Meanwhile, among the 7 PS Java Top senior players, 1 player was classified in the high VO2max category, 3 players were in the moderate category, and the remaining 3 players were in the low category. In conclusion, the aerobic endurance ability of players in the center midfielder position still needs to be developed and improved through training programs that are adjusted to match demands. Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between physical literacy, students’ interest, and physical activity in badminton among junior high school students. This research employed a quantitative correlational design. The participants were 30 seventh-grade students from SMPN 11 Muaro Jambi selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring students’ interest, physical activity, and physical literacy based on a Likert scale. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results showed a significant positive relationship between students’ interest and physical literacy (r = 0.62, p < 0.05), as well as between physical activity and physical literacy (r = 0.58, p < 0.05). Furthermore, students’ interest and physical activity simultaneously contributed 52% to physical literacy. In conclusion, increasing students’ interest and levels of physical activity plays an important role in developing physical literacy through badminton activities at school. Abstract

This study aimed to analyze Physical Education students’ perceptions of digital technology integration in practical courses at Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sorong. This research employed a quantitative approach using a descriptive survey design. The participants consisted of 50 Physical Education students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a perception questionnaire based on a five-point Likert scale, covering five main aspects: ease of use of digital technology, perceived usefulness, effectiveness in practical learning, learning motivation, and barriers to digital technology integration. The instrument was tested for validity and reliability, with the results indicating that all items were valid and reliable (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.884). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean scores and percentages. The findings revealed that students’ perceptions of ease of use were in the high category (mean = 4.12), perceived usefulness was very high (mean = 4.21), effectiveness of practical learning was high (mean = 4.09), and learning motivation was very high (mean = 4.21). Meanwhile, the barriers to digital technology integration were categorized as moderate to high (mean = 3.59), particularly related to limited facilities, internet connectivity issues, and the suitability of digital technology for certain practical courses. In conclusion, physical education students demonstrate positive perceptions toward digital technology integration in practical learning; however, institutional support and appropriate implementation strategies are required to ensure optimal and sustainable use of digital technology in physical education learning. Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of educational games on improving social attitudes of elementary school students. The method used was a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental pretest-posttest design, and the sampling technique employed was purposive sampling with criteria of upper-grade students. The treatment was carried out through various educational games, such as jumping game, numeric, quiz, puzzle arrangement, cup pyramid, coordination bridge, roll the ball, and stacko uno. The results showed that the pretest and posttest data were not normally distributed; therefore, further analysis was conducted using the non-parametric Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The findings indicated a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, which reflects an improvement in students' social attitudes after the treatment. In conclusion, educational games have a significant effect on improving the social attitudes of elementary school students.   Keywords: Educational Games, Social Attitudes, Educational Game Skills
