Abstract

The ability to write response texts is a crucial aspect of Indonesian language learning at the junior high school level. Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) is an important instrument to measure this skill. This study aims to evaluate the response text writing ability of grade VIII students of SMPN 3 Merangin using the AKM and identify effective learning strategies. With a qualitative descriptive approach and a case study of 30 students, data were collected through the AKM test and analyzed qualitatively. The results showed significant variations in students' writing literacy skills. A total of 15% of students were in the excellent category, demonstrating the ability to understand, analyze, and compose structured, logical, and critical responses. Meanwhile, 45% of students were in the good category, able to understand and analyze the text well, and compose adequate responses. Furthermore, 35% of students were in the fair category, showing a general understanding of the text but may struggle with in-depth analysis or structured responses. Finally, 5% of students were in the poor category, with writing literacy skills that need to be significantly improved, especially in comprehending, analyzing, and composing clear and coherent responses. The findings serve as a reference for designing more effective learning strategies, especially in literacy development and response text writing. This study provides a comprehensive picture of the ability to write response texts of grade VIII students at SMPN 3 Merangin. The findings can serve as a reference in designing more effective learning strategies, especially in developing literacy skills and writing response texts. AKM is proven to be effective as an assessment tool for writing response texts at the junior high school level and schools are expected to utilize the results of this study to design lessons that focus on strengthening writing literacy.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to improve the science literacy of elementary school students using a brain-based learning approach. The major problems found in this study include the inability of students to answer scientific questions relevant to real life, their inability to identify and interpret scientific texts, and their inabilidade to apply knowledge in everyday life. Brain-based learning methods were chosen because they were based on the principle of brain work. It is expected that this approach will help students become more interested and interested in studying Natural Sciences (IPA). Class Action Research (PTK), which consists of various action cycles, is used. Planning, implementation, observation, and reflection are phases that are included in each cycle. Data is collected through science literacy assessment using essays and observations. Content, context, high-level thinking, and affective aspects are the literacy components studied. The study involved 30 students who were in the fifth grade of primary school.  Students are better at identifying and interpreting scientific texts, answering scientific questions that are relevant to everyday life, and applying their knowledge to daily life. In addition, observations of student learning activity also show that students are more engaged and involved in the learning process. Students are more involved in discussions, questions, and experimental activities designed based on brain-based learning. In conclusion, the Brain- Based Learning approach is effective in improving students' science literacy.

Abstract

This research aims to develop students' scientific creativity through the STEAM-PjBL approach. The issues identified during observation were that students were less active during lessons, not enthusiastic about attending classes, and did not pay attention to the teacher's explanations. This was due to the monotonous and less varied teaching methods used by the teacher. The STEAM-PjBL approach was chosen because of its significant impact on developing students' scientific creativity and fostering group collaboration in the context of science learning by relating it to everyday life. This study employs classroom action research with three cycles and two different projects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, reflective journals, researcher notes, and students' scientific creativity results. Unusual use, real advance, technical production, science imagination, science problem solving, creative experimental, and science product are aspects of scientific creativity. This research involved 30 fifth-grade elementary school students. Students worked in groups to create projects related to ecosystem and magnet topics. The results showed that the STEAM-PjBL approach on ecosystem and magnet topics developed scientific creativity. In cycle III, there was a significant improvement in the aspects of unusual use and science imagination, with an increase of 16.25% from the initial scores of 15.83% and 15.42%, respectively. The results of observations on learning activities using the STEAM-PjBL approach can stimulate and develop students' scientific creativity in a scientific context.

Abstract

The basis for this research was the low mathematical critical thinking skills among fifth-grade students of SDN Kubang 02. The objective was to develop their mathematical critical thinking skills using the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach and spatial visualization. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) with Kemmis and McTaggart model consisting of three cycles. Data collection was taken from observation and test data, while data analysis used qualitative and quantitative comparative descriptive methods by comparing data results from each cycle. The researcher's findings are that using the RME approach and spatial visualization in the mathematics learning process can develop students' mathematical critical thinking skills. This can be seen from acquiring mathematical critical thinking ability test results that have increased each cycle. In the pre-cycle students who obtained a test score ≥ 65 only reached 9 students or 18%, in cycle I experienced a development of 24 students or 49%, in cycle II experienced a development to 31 students or 63%, in cycle III continued to experience development until it reached 40 students or reached a percentage of 82%. Development can also be seen from the average value of students' mathematical critical thinking skills which increased from 50 in pre-cycle conditions, to 61 in cycle I, in cycle II it increased to 69, and in cycle III it increased again to 73. Based on the data obtained, it can be concluded that the use of the RME approach and spatial visualization is effective in developing the mathematical critical thinking skills of grade V students at SDN Kubang 02.

Abstract

Web-based learning environments have changed the traditional way of teaching to be more interactive and adaptive. However, there are challenges in making e-learning designs effective, aesthetically appealing and easy to use, and capable of improving learning outcomes and changing learning behaviors. This study investigates the influence of web-based learning environments on STEM education, focusing on the aesthetic appeal, user-friendliness and appropriateness of the visual design of mobile websites. The research objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning designs that include the incorporation of creativity, structured approaches, and evidence-based practices to improve learning outcomes and change learning behaviors. The research methodology involved literature analysis, content organization, and integration of interactive instructional design and multimedia elements. Merrill's Principles of First Instruction and the SAM Model were used as the basis of learning theory. Evaluation was conducted on modularity, scalability, codebase security, and user experience through navigation, intuitiveness, accessibility, and overall user happiness. The GUI design is accessible via PC/Laptop and Android and iOS-based mobile devices. The results show that comprehensive instructional design and the use of multimedia learning can improve learning outcomes. The integration of multimedia content such as videos, images, and interactive simulations within the web learning environment can increase engagement and facilitate effective learning. media experts and programming experts evaluated the visual and technical aspects of the website, providing recommendations to improve usability and performance. users also evaluate the website's ability to facilitate stem learning and report usability issues that could be improved. regular performance monitoring and testing, along with implementing best practices, can improve website quality and performance. fixing usability issues and improving website performance will provide a better learning experience for users.

Abstract

Globally, digital transformation has become a primary driver in reshaping the education paradigm, including in the development of training management to enhance ICT competencies among elementary school teachers. This study aims to explore the development of management and the impact of digital transformation management training on enhancing ICT competencies among teachers at SD Negeri 58 in Banda Aceh. The study adopts a Research and Development research design, focusing on developing a digital transformation-based management model to improve ICT competencies. Subjects included all 9 teachers from SD Negeri 58 in Banda Aceh and 2 Management and IT experts. The research procedure utilizes the ADDIE development model. Data was collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and tests, which were then analyzed descriptively and analytically. The results indicate that implementing a digital transformation-based training management model successfully enhances ICT competencies among teachers through an online approach using the Google Classroom platform. This approach allows teachers to access the latest educational resources, participate in remote training, and share best ICT practices via digital platforms. Teachers can continually update their knowledge, share best practices, and effectively implement innovations in ICT education at schools. This supports not only the improvement of teaching quality but also strengthens teachers' competencies in developing skills relevant to current needs. The integration of technology can enhance teachers' readiness to face current technological advancements. Therefore, it can be concluded that digital transformation in training management development can enhance ICT competencies among teachers at SD Negeri 58 in Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Reading interest is a person's desire to read without coercion, but currently, students' reading interest is relatively low, which significantly affects the quality of education. One factor contributing to this low interest is technological advancement, which leads them to use smartphones more than reading books. An example of this technological advancement is the Google Play Books application. This study aims to enhance students' understanding and reading interest using the Google Play Books application. Conducted at SMP Negeri 150 Jakarta, the study involved a population of 321 seventh-grade students, with VII-A chosen as the control group and VII-B as the experimental group. The study employed probability sampling with Simple Random Sampling technique for sampling. This quantitative study utilized True Experimental design with Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The research instrument was a questionnaire. Data analysis included Aiken'S V validity test, showing high and very high validity levels. The product moment correlation formula was used for empirical validity testing, indicating valid results. Instrument reliability was tested using Cronbach’s Alpha method, yielding CA (Cronbach's Alpha) = 0.890, indicating high reliability. Normality test results were 0.095 for the experimental group and 0.060 for the control group, while homogeneity was assessed using Levene's statistic, showing homogeneous data distribution. One Way ANOVA test showed a significance level of 0.035, indicating a value less than 0.05. This proves that using the Google Play Books application has an impact on students' reading interest between the experimental and control groups.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the number of teachers who do not do their assignments well, the number of teachers who are late even though there is time for morning teaching, there are still many teachers who do not complete their work on time, there are teachers who are not able to make learning tools, including the creation of annual programs, semester programs, syllabi, and learning program plans (RPP). This research aims to improve the quality of teacher performance in the classroom by integrating human values in work, especially how well the orientation of the managerial ability of madrasah heads, teacher compensation and the work culture of the Ministry of Religion in achieving better teacher performance. Quantitative research with the expost facto method was carried out at Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Batu Bara Regency, namely 36 madrasas. The researcher gave several variable questionnaires to madrasah teachers, each of which had been adjusted to variable indicators. The researcher processed the data by classification assumption test, t-test, F test and R2 test using the SPSS version 25 program. This study reveals (1) The managerial skills of madrasah heads have a positive effect on teacher performance; (2) Teacher compensation has a positive effect on teacher performance; (3) The work culture of the Ministry of Religion has a positive effect on teacher performance; (4) The managerial skills of madrasah heads and teacher compensation have a positive effect on teacher performance; (5) The managerial ability of the head of the madrasah and the work culture of the Ministry of Religion have a positive effect on teacher performance; (6) Teacher compensation and work culture of the Ministry of Religion have a positive effect on teacher performance and (7) The managerial ability of madrasah heads, teacher compensation and work culture of the Ministry of Religion have a positive effect on teacher performance.

Abstract

The difficulty of students in understanding abstract and complex hydrological cycle material is caused by the limitations of technology-based learning media. There is also an impact caused by the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 in the aspect of creativity in the world of education is increasing so that teachers play an active role in developing learning media. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of augmented reality-based learning media on the hydrological cycle material of geography subjects. This research method uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE research design model. The results of the analysis show that the average value of the effectiveness of the use of augmented reality-based learning media according to the material expert validator is 95% and the media expert is 87%, then also from student respondents, namely 91.36%, and teacher respondents 89.4% of the 4 assessments are included in the very high criteria from the other four criteria, namely high, low, and very low. Based on the results of the research analysis, it can be concluded that the effectiveness of the use of AR-based learning media on the Hydrological Cycle material of Geography Subjects in class X of SMA, the majority of these indicators have very high criteria. So the development of this learning media has high effectiveness and is able to stimulate the learning process of students. The majority of students also have no difficulty in using it.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum which currently implemented in Indonesia is designed to optimize students' knowledge, morals, and characteristics through intracurricular activities, by focusing on competency development. This study aims to find out (1) the history of the establishment of the merdeka curriculum, (2) the implementation of the merdeka curriculum, and (3) its impact on SD Muhammadiyah 23 Semanggi. The research was conducted through qualitative descriptive method. Research data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation during the period from October to completion. The results of the study showed that SD Muhammadiyah 23 Semanggi was selected as a School of Mover after going through a strict selection process. This program focuses on developing student learning outcomes holistically, creating a pancasila student profile, and strengthening human resources through training and mentoring. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in this school includes diagnostic assessments to understand student needs, make lesson plan, and the use of flexible and creative teaching methods. Learning is carried out through intracurricular activities, co-curricular activities, and projects to strengthen the Pancasila Student Profile. As a result, the Merdeka Curriculum has created a more active and participatory learning environment at SD Muhammadiyah 23 Semanggi. Students develop 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy. In addition, teachers and principals play a key role in supporting the success of this implementation. The conclusion of this study shows that the Merdeka Curriculum makes a significant contribution to improving student learning outcomes overall, emphasizing the importance of the role of educators in supporting this change.
