Abstract

Seagrass is an aquatic iota that is capable of accumulating pollutants such as heavy metals dissolved in water. The waters of Marlosso and Nametek along the waters of Kayeli Bay are currently polluted due to illegal gold mining activities that use mercury (Hg) and anthropogenic activities that produce lead (Pb) pollutants that pollute these waters. Mercury (Hg) is a type of heavy metal BIII (toxic and dangerous material) which is toxic to all living things, either in its single form (metal) or in its compounds. While lead (Pb) is a heavy metal produced by human activities around the waters such as household and transportation waste. These pollutants can enter the waters with the help of rainwater. Heavy metal BIII that accumulates in waters can affect the organisms in it such as the morphology of seagrass organs. Identification of the morphological structure of the seagrass Enhalus acoroides using the SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) method with a magnification of 2000x. The research was carried out at the Laboratory of Minerals and Advanced Materials, State University of Malang, on June 24-August 24, 2021 and sampling in Marlosso and Nametek waters, Buru Regency, Maluku. The results showed that all seagrass organs had undergone morphological changes in the arrangement of irregular root fibers as well as rhizomes and leaves that experienced thickening of the epidermal cell walls as a form of adaptation to heavy metal absorption. Keywords: Seagrass, Morphology, Heavy metal, SEM

Abstract

Mangrove forests are referred to as mangrove forests and are an environment that is often used by the community to be used as fishing locations, this is because there are many fauna in the form  crabs, fish, and shrimp. Mangrove forest is an environment close to Bald Mountain which is a gold mining site.that place also occurs gold processing with chemicals that can assist in the gold processing. The lead waste generated from the process of community activities working as gold miners gold mining flows through rivers that cross the mangrove forest, feared that it can disrupt the habitat of plants and animals that live in that environment. It can also be dangerous for local people if they consume food from fishing rods that have been contaminated by lead waste. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative using a laboratory experimental approach to find the lead content (Pb) in (Scylla) obtained from (Scylla) that lives in the Anahoni Mangrove Forest. Sampling is taken at random up three spots (each spot consists 3 points and each point consists of 6 birds). The Pb content of Scylla sp. From  results of laboratory tests, it is known that there is heavy metal (Pb) content in (Scylla) living in Anahoni Mangrove Forest, Buru Regency. The average heavy metal content (Pb) in (Scylla). different samples, namely sample I an average of 2,91292 ppm, sample II an average of 2,91292 ppm and sample III an average of 3,73749 ppm. Keywords: Mangrove Crab. Abstract

Eco-enzyme is a liquid produced from the fermentation of non-fat organic matter as an environmentally friendly antiseptic with no harmful residues to the environment. Organic materials commonly used in the manufacture of eco-enzymes include vegetables and fruit wastes. Therefore, this study aims to produce eco-enzymes from organic wastes in the form of nutmeg, clove, and eucalyptus leaves. A laboratory experiment with a post-test-only control group design was carried out for 7 months from March to September 2021. The variable X includes the type of plant waste from which the eco-enzyme was obtained namely nutmeg flesh (BP), nutmeg leaf (DP), eucalyptus leaf (DK), clove leaf (DC), liquid antiseptic (Ae), and gel antiseptic (Ai), while variable Y was the level of E. coli and S. aureus (mm) growth inhibition. The results showed that different plant wastes' eco-enzymes also had distinctive colors, where DP and DK were brown, BP was reddish-brown, while DC appeared blackish-brown and clear. These differences occur due to variations in the chemical composition of each material used. Furthermore, the acidic aroma from each eco-enzyme was derived from the decomposition of alcohol compounds into acetic acid during aerobic respiration. The aroma was distinctively different depending on the type of plant waste used. Eco-enzymes and commercial antiseptics also have different abilities to inhibit E. coli and S. aureus growth with the highest inhibition found in eco-enzymes made from eucalyptus leaf waste. Keywords: Antiseptic, Cloves, Nutmeg, Eucalyptus
