Abstract

Butterfly is the insect that the existence is determined by the ability of their distribution and adaptation towards the environmental factor. The decrease of the plant species diversity in a habitat will affect the diversity of the butterfly species. One of the buterflies habitat which experinces the degradation of species diversity is Resort Bandealit which some parts of the region are designated as the habitat of Invasive plants. The aim of this study is to know the composition and diversity of butterfly species in the pringtali Savannah Resort Bandealit Meru Betiri national park. The method used in the data collection is the road sampling method. The road sampling method is done by walking and counting spesimen which were collect by active collection. Exploration is carried out by walking along the five cruise lines with a length of each path is 100 m in Savana Pringtali Meru Betiri National Park. The composition and diversity species of butterfly is a 11 species represented from 3 family and 10 genus. The four most common species of butterflies found in the study area are Jamides pura, Ypthima Philomela, Leptosia nina, and Eurema hecabe.

Abstract

Exotic plants are plants that are introduced intentionally or unintentionally from their original habitat to a new habitat. One of the exotic plants that is potentially invasive is Chromolaena odorata. These plants are found a lot especially in the rehabilitation zone at Donglo Block Resort of Wonoasri, Meru Betiri National Park (MBNP). An initial effort to determine whether this exotic plant was potentially invasive was to use the distribution pattern of a plant population. This study aimed to determine the distribution pattern and area of cover of exotic plants C. odorata in rehabilitation zone at Donglo Block, Resort of Wonoasri MBNP. The sampling of C. odorata used the transect plot method systematically, which carried out in Donglo Block Resort of Wonoasri MBNP. Data analyzed using Morisita index. The map of distribution pattern of C. odorata was created using the Geographic Information System (GIS). Based on the results of the Morisita index, the value (Iδ) = 12.39, which means that C. odorata has a clumped distribution pattern. The distribution pattern of C. odorata can also be seen from the visualization of the spatial distribution map, which shows that the growth of C. odorata in plants or overlaps with each other, hence that it looks clustered. The coverage area of C. odorata in the study location was 596,5 m2 or 29.24% of the total area of the study (20,400 m2). Based on the results of the coverage area of C. odorata, it was indicated that this exotic species is not yet classified as an invasive species in the area.

Abstract

Exotic plants are plants that are intentionally or unintentionally included in an area. Based on the results of the 2020 survey, one of the exotic plants found in the Donglo Block Rehabilitation Zone area of Meru Betiri National Park (MBNP) is cinderella weed (Synedrella nodiflora). The objective of this study is to determine the distribution pattern and area of cover of exotic S. nodiflora plants in the research location. Data were collected using a combination method of systematic plot transects measuring 2 x 2 meters which were placed along the transect with a total of 415 plots. The data recorded were the coordinate position of each individual S. nodiflora and the area of the cover. Analysis of distribution pattern data using the Morisita index and visualized with a spatial distribution map using Geographic Information System (GIS). Coverage area analysis was carried out by calculating the percent cover of S. nodiflora. The results of the analysis of the Morisita index showed the value of Iδ = 7.13, which indicates that the distribution pattern of the plants is clustered. In addition, the presence of this species in the study area was occupied 41.7% or 0.85 ha of the total area of 2.04 ha. It shows that this species still did not dominate the area, so it can be said that this species has not yet become an invasive species category in the research location.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Kima, Tanjung Bilik, Taman Nasional BaluranABSTRACTKima (Giant clam) is a group of sea shells that belongs to the cardiidae family and the Bivalvia class. Kima is one of the international trade commodities with high economic value. This heterogeneous habitat condition is interesting to study, especially in order to understand the habitat characteristics and species diversity of clams in the intertidal zone of the Baluran National Park chambers. To determine the characteristics of the habitat selected by the clam shell population and species diversity, a road sampling method was carried out by 'tracking' the habitat types and the Habitat characteristics analysis using coral reef classification. The most preferred habitat characteristics for clams are RCK (rocks) with a percentage of 64.28% and the lowest is S (sand) with a percentage of 3.57%. The diversity of species of clams in the intertidal zone of Bilik TNB beach is low, numbers 4 species were found, namely Tridacna crocea, T. maxima, T. squamosa and Hippopus hippopus. The evenness value shows a result that is close to zero, which means that there are species that dominate in the clam shell community, namely T. crocea, which number reaches 38 individuals. Keywords: Kima, Bilik Capet, Baluran National Park

Abstract

Erek-Erek Geoforest (EEG) is one of the Biosites of Ijen Geopark located at the eastern slope of Mount Ijen. This location has unique topography of highland forests restricted by mountain ridges. This topography creates dense vegetation and humid ecosystem supporting microhabitats for endemic birds. This study aims to investigate the diversity and uniqueness of avifauna in EEG based on the existing value of birds. The method used is a point count at three potential station for the presence of birds. The data collected are the bird species, individual number of species, and species existence based on conservation status, distribution, and protection status. Data analysis includes the Shannon Wiener diversity index (H’), Evenness index (E), and existence factor (Ef) of bird community. The results show there are 57 species of birds belonging to 46 genera and 31 families. The diversity of birds in EEG Biosite has a high value (H'=3.40) and also a high evenness value (E=0.84). The Ef value of birds in this area is 51.35, which means the uniqueness value is a medium category. There are three bird species that have the highest Ef value, i.e Arborophila orientalis (Ef=80.00), Pycnonotus bimaculatus (Ef=73.33) and Locustella montis (Ef=73.33). The three species are endemic to Indonesia, especially A. orientalis whose distribution is limited to the highlands of East Java. Based on the composition, diversity, and uniqueness of avifauna in the EEG, it becomes valuable information for the government, Ijen Geopark Manager, and local communities to manage EEG Biosite conservatively by maintaining the existence of avifauna and their habitats.
