Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the level of spatial reasoning ability of high school students with a visual learning style in solving geometric problems. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were two students with a visual learning style category which was determined based on a learning style questionnaire. Data collection techniques in this study used a learning style questionnaire, TKPS, and interviews. Researchers also used data analysis techniques according to Milles & Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Meanwhile, to check the validity of the data researcher uses source triangulation. Based on the research data obtained, it was shown that the subject imagined the design of the drawing model into real objects such as a swimming pool with stairs and a warehouse with piles of cardboard so that the subject was able to convert two-dimensional icons into three-dimensional objects. The subject showed that in the model design, there were images of blocks that had length, width, and height and there were small cubes arranged so that the subject was able to make the correct relationship between two-dimensional icons to become three-dimensional objects. The subject also determines how many unit cubes are needed to fill the block by first calculating the volume of the block and then subtracting the total number of unit cubes in the block. This the visual subject's spatial reasoning in solving geometric problems is included in the category of high-level (spatial) spatial reasoning.

Abstract

Literary works are written based on the author's experience. The author tries to reflect and analyze the events he experienced into his work. Such a process can be said to be an imaginative process. Besides imagination, writers also need special techniques so that the work presented is well and interesting. One technique that can be used is four mathematical thinking patterns. The four mathematical mindsets include a square mindset, cross mindset, similarity mindset, and difference mindset. This technique functions for regional awareness, conflict building, resolution building, and diction selection. This technique is used by PGSD Study Program students to create short stories. The method in this article uses a qualitative research design with exploratory research types to understand the text and context. Data analysis was carried out by comparing short stories with four mathematical thinking techniques. The results of the research show that PGSD Study Program students understand the rules of short story writing, and can implement the four mathematical thinking techniques for creating short stories.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of implementing the project values of strengthening the Pancasila student profile in one of the private high schools in Jakarta. The method used is observation, namely through direct observation of the research object accompanied by interviews to collect data more comprehensively. The results of the study show that the values of the Pancasila student profile have been implemented intensively at SMA Muhammadiyah 18 Jakarta. The profile of faith, piety to God Almighty and noble character is implemented through the activities of carrying out congregational prayers, reciting and studying the Al Quran. The global diversity profile is implemented through discussions and studies of various foreign cultures. The mutual cooperation profile is implemented through community service activities, group discussions, and the preparation of the OSIS work program. The independent profile is implemented through completing daily assignments, administering exams, and returning and tidying up books in the library. The creative profile is implemented by cultivating students to create new things, carrying out entrepreneurial activities in the form of selling cakes during recess, turning used goods into art, and helping UMKM part time. Critical reasoning is implemented through activities to accustom students to asking questions in class, discussing, giving arguments on the problems posed, criticizing and respecting differences of opinion. The results of this study can be used as a model in implementing Pancasila student profiles in high school.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit the world including Indonesia requires taking astance to prevent wider transmission, including the education sector. In relation to this, the Ministry of Education and Culture has taken a firm stance through several circularsregarding education policies during the emergency period of the spread of Covid-19.This article examines the implementation of education policies during the Covid-19pandemic related to distance learning policies. The distance learning process is asolution that has not been optimally implemented overall during and after thepandemic. There are things that must be considered in this distance learning, includingthe quality of teacher resources must be improved, both in terms of teaching style, content, learning methods, learning media and methodology as well as in terms of theuse of information technology. In addition, students are also less active in participatingin this distance learning, either due to an unstable internet network or in terms of theprovision of limited internet quota. The purpose of writing this article is to study andunderstand the problems in learning activities during the pandemic, namely distancelearning so that students can participate actively and interestingly. This study uses aqualitative and observational approach. The results of this study prove that distancelearning (PJJ) during the Covid-19 pandemic has given rise to various responses andchanges in the learning system which can affect the learning process and the level ofdevelopment of students in responding to the material presented.
