Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the revitalization of Bajo oral literature so that it is easier to understand by the local community, especially young men and women in the Mola Bajo village in Waktobi. The research method uses a qualitative semiotic ethnographic approach and uses descriptive and interpretative data collection using semiotic theory in the form of icons, indexes, and symbols. The results of the study show that the Bajo community considers the sea as a source of life. This is what makes the sea an icon in the Bajo community. The signifier imbu is present as an index that shows a natural relationship that gives rise to cause and effect. Imbu is believed to be a sea creature that has great power and is able to sink ships if the sea is not respected. In addition, the Bajo oral tradition also believes in healing rituals through; Kaka, Kuta, Tuli. These three rituals are verbal symbols of the Bajo community which are believed to be healing rituals and birth processes, but both are still interconnected with each other. The conclusion is that the existence of semiotic analysis helps us to understand the identity of Bajo culture so that it can be integrated into Bajo cultural tourism objects in Waktobi. Keywords: Bajo Oral Literature, Cultural Tourism, Revitalization, Semiotics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of destination image and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) on tourists' visit decisions, with intention to visit as a mediating variable in East Bolaang Mongondow Regency. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method of 100 tourists selected using an accidental sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the validity, reliability, and relationships between variables in the research model. The results of the analysis showed that all constructs met the criteria of convergent validity, discriminant validity, and good reliability. Destination image had a positive and significant effect on tourists' visit intentions and visit decisions. E-WOM had a positive and significant effect on visit intentions, but did not directly influence visit decisions. Intention to visit was proven to have a very significant effect on visit decisions and acted as a strong mediator in the relationship between destination image and e-WOM on visit decisions. The high R-square value indicates that the model has strong explanatory power in explaining tourist visit behavior. The conclusion of this study confirms that intention to visit has a strategic role as a mediator in shaping tourists' visit decisions. Therefore, destination managers need to strengthen their destination image and optimize e-WOM-based digital promotion strategies to increase tourists' decision to visit. Keywords: Destination Image, E-Worm, Tourism, Visit Decision, Visit Intention.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that drive the success of small-scale irrigation management by the Water Users Farmers Association (P3A) in Bandep Village, North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan. The study used a mixed methods approach by combining qualitative and quantitative data. The results show that the success of small-scale irrigation management is influenced by the availability of skilled local experts, the stability of water volume during the planting season, the active participation of farmers and P3A administrators in irrigation operation and maintenance, and financial support from member contributions and government assistance. A SWOT analysis places irrigation management in the diversification quadrant, indicating that internal strengths are able to suppress external threats. The conclusion of this study confirms that sustainable small-scale irrigation management requires strengthening human resource capacity, farmer participation, and consistent financial support to improve P3A performance and agricultural production resilience. Keywords: Water User Farmers (P3A), Small Irrigation Management.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the historical traces, development, function, and preservation efforts of the Ulu script as a literary heritage of the Uluan community in Lubuklinggau City. The study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-historical method. Data collection was conducted through literature review utilizing various sources, such as books, scientific journal articles, research reports, and documents discussing the history, literacy, and preservation of the Ulu script. Data analysis was conducted descriptively and qualitatively through the processes of classification, interpretation, and synthesis of information from various sources, while data validity was strengthened using source triangulation. The results indicate that the Ulu script is a traditional writing system that developed in the upper reaches of the Musi River from around the 9th century until reaching its peak in the 13th century AD. This script serves as a medium for recording local history, customary law, religious teachings, literature, and traditional medical knowledge, thus demonstrating the development of the Uluan community's literacy tradition. However, developments, globalization, and the dominance of the Latin script have caused the use of the Ulu script to decline and become less familiar to the younger generation. Various preservation efforts have been undertaken through education, literacy training, manuscript documentation, digitization, and cultural outreach. This study concludes that the Ulu script is a cultural heritage with high historical, educational, and local identity value. Therefore, synergy between the government, educational institutions, cultural communities, and the community is needed to ensure its continued preservation in the digital age. Abstract

This study aims to explore information to understand the history of the Ginde Dukun Tomb Site located in Batu Urip Hamlet, Lubuklinggau City. This study uses a qualitative approach using historical and ethnographic methods, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, direct observation and documentation. The main information was obtained from three key informants, Mr. Basir, Mr. Zulhijjah, and Mr. Sahwan Mat Lani who are customary leaders, descendants and community leaders of Batu Urip Hamlet, Lubuklinggau City. The results of this study indicate that this Ginde Dukun is a leader or position of village head (hamlet), and he is highly respected because of his position as a Ginde and someone who can help cure people or communities who are sick, because this is why he is called a shaman. So he is called a Ginde because of his position and a shaman because he is able to cure sick people. His grave site is still maintained until now even though there are no special cleaners, but when people make pilgrimages, they are the ones who help clean it. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between social support and training facilities on students’ learning motivation in the Sports and Health Education Study Program (PORKES) in tennis courses. This research employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The population consisted of 155 students using total sampling technique. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed using Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression. The results showed that social support (r = 0.089; p > 0.05) and training facilities (r = 0.079; p > 0.05) had a positive but very weak and non-significant relationship with learning motivation. Regression analysis also indicated that social support (p = 0.379) and training facilities (p = 0.474) did not significantly influence learning motivation. The study's conclusions indicate that social support and training facilities do not significantly influence learning motivation, suggesting that other factors beyond the studied variables may influence student learning motivation. Therefore, a more comprehensive learning strategy is needed to improve student learning motivation. Keywords: Learning Motivation, PORKES Students, Social Support, Tennis Court, Training Facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model in improving students' learning outcomes in Social Studies, particularly the topic "Indonesiaku Kaya Alamnya" (Indonesia's Natural Wealth), in Grade V of SD Negeri 1 Lesung Batu. The research employed a classroom action research (CAR) method conducted in two cycles. The results showed that in the pre-test of Cycle I, the average student score was 63.57, with only 32% achieving mastery. After implementing the Discovery Learning model, the post-test score in Cycle I increased to an average of 68.21, with 61% of students reaching mastery. A more significant improvement occurred in Cycle II, with a pre-test average of 72.86 and 82% mastery, and a post-test average of 71.25 with 93% of students achieving mastery. These findings demonstrate that the Discovery Learning model is effective in enhancing student learning outcomes and also contributes positively to student engagement and motivation. Thus, the conclusion of this study is that this model is suitable to be applied as an alternative learning model to improve the quality of the social studies teaching and learning process in elementary schools.
