Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of integrating vocational materials on students' interest and learning outcomes in procedural texts through the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method in eleventh-grade mechanical engineering students at a vocational high school (SMK). The technique used was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The results showed that vocational material integration significantly increased student interest and learning outcomes. The experimental group showed a greater increase in interest, as indicated by better motivation, engagement, and self-confidence. Furthermore, students in the experimental group also improved their learning outcomes for procedural texts, as evidenced by improved test scores and learning completion. The conclusion is that integrating vocational material through PBL is efficacious in improving the quality of English instruction in vocational high schools.   Keywords:Vocational Material Integration, Problem-Based Learning, Procedural Text

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate interactive web-based learning media in Articulate Storyline 3 to increase student motivation for learning in high school dance lessons. The research method used was research and development (R&D), and experts in materials, media, and language validated the developed product. The results showed that this media was efficient and effective, with an average score of 89% across ease of use, usefulness, product appeal, and media use. Field testing demonstrated that this media can increase student motivation to learn, with post-test scores in the experimental group higher than those in the control group. This media offers an innovative solution to overcome the limitations of conventional media in dance lessons, while providing an interactive and enjoyable learning experience. This research contributes to the development of web-based learning media that can be effectively implemented in schools. In conclusion, interactive web-based learning media created with Articulate Storyline 3 have proven effective in increasing student motivation during dance lessons.   Keywords: Articulate Storyline3, Learning Media, Learning Motivation, Dance

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of educational facilities to improve learning effectiveness for children with special needs in Special Needs Schools (SLB). This study used a literature review approach, analyzing research findings from the past five years on the role of educational facilities, including inclusive classrooms, adaptive learning environments, interactive learning methods, and disability-friendly physical environments. The results indicate that the optimal use of specially designed educational facilities can increase active student participation, strengthen teacher-student interactions, and support the achievement of basic skills as outlined in the learning program. Obstacles identified include the uneven distribution of facilities and the limited utilization of educators. Therefore, systematic efforts are needed to provide, manage, and utilize educational facilities that are oriented to students' individual needs. Abstract

This study aims to develop OER-based interactive teaching materials, assess their feasibility, and evaluate their effectiveness in fostering harmony in ecosystem materials for fifth-grade elementary school students. This study employs a Research and Development (R&D) design based on the Borg & Gall research and development model. The research instruments include tests, questionnaire validation, student response questionnaires, observation sheets, and interviews. The results of the study indicate that OER-based interactive teaching materials developed in digital form and equipped with teacher usage instructions are declared feasible based on the assessment of material experts (obtaining a score of 73 out of a maximum score of 80), media experts (obtaining a score of 75 out of a maximum score of 80), practitioners (receiving a score of 39 and 38 out of a maximum score of 40), and policy makers (obtaining a score of 39 out of a maximum score of 40). OER-based interactive teaching materials are declared effective in improving cognitive learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students. The results of the independent-samples t-test showed that the posttest scores of the experimental and control groups, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicated a significant difference between the groups. The average posttest score for the experimental group (90.45) was higher than that of the control group (77.72). In conclusion, the OER-based interactive teaching material on harmony in ecosystems is suitable for use as a teaching tool for students.   Keywords: Interactive Teaching Materials, Cognitive Learning Outcomes, Science, Open Educational Resources, Fifth Grade Students

Abstract

This study aims to describe the differentiated learning strategies teachers implement to accommodate diverse student learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic) and to examine their contributions to student engagement and understanding. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach, mapping learning needs at the beginning of the lesson using questionnaires, interviews, and classroom observations as the basis for planning differentiation in content, process, and product. Results show that teachers facilitated visual learners with images, diagrams, and concept maps; auditory learners through discussions and reading aloud; and kinesthetic learners through demonstrations and hands-on practice. In conclusion, implementing this data-based differentiation was associated with increased learning comfort, motivation, participation, and a more inclusive learning environment.   Keywords: Content-Process-Product Differentiation, Learning Styles (VAK), Learning Engagement, Differentiated Learning, Inclusive Learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the leadership strategies elementary school principals use to handle conflicts among teachers. This study used a qualitative, phenomenological approach. The results showed that the principals' strategies for handling disputes between teachers included: gathering information from various sources, being objective, using deliberative, meditative, and counseling approaches, strengthening the team, prioritizing cooperation, and respecting mutual opinions. This resulted in the implementation of their primary duties and functions running smoothly and in the prevention of serious conflicts in the performance of their respective duties. In conclusion, the leadership strategies of elementary school principals in handling disputes between teachers included using deliberative, meditative, and counseling approaches, strengthening the team, prioritizing cooperation, and respecting mutual opinions.   Keywords: Conflict, Principal, Leadership, Strategy

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the validity and effectiveness of implementing augmented reality-based flashcards to improve cognitive learning outcomes in fifth-grade elementary school students. This study used the Borg and Gall Research and Development (R&D) model. The study population consisted of fifth-grade elementary school students in Sumberpucung District, selected using a probability sampling technique with cluster random sampling. Quantitative data were collected from validation sheets and learning outcome test sheets. The augmented reality-based flashcards on the human respiratory system were produced as cards equipped with barcodes, which were scanned with a device to display an augmented reality experience corresponding to the material. Instructions for use were also provided. Experts declared the augmented reality-based flashcards valid as a learning tool for fifth-grade elementary school students. In conclusion, augmented reality-based flashcards were effective in improving cognitive learning outcomes in fifth-grade elementary school students on the human respiratory system. The effectiveness of the media can be seen from the results of the difference test between the experimental and control groups.   Keywords: Flashcards, Augmented Reality, Cognitive Learning Outcomes, Human Respiratory System Material
