Abstract

The incidence of violence in the elderly is suspected to have a very detrimental effect and can reduce the quality of life of the elderly. Several interventions, such as increasing public awareness and health workers, screening the risk of violence, and strengthening the elderly group to be able to report incidents of violence are known to have a positive effect on reducing cases of violence in the elderly. The activity was carried out in the form of increasing knowledge about violence in the elderly virtually for 464 participants consisting of nursing students and professional nurses from 23 provinces. The results of the Wilcoxon test analysis showed a significance value of 0.000 (< 0.05) which indicated a positive benefit in increasing nurses' knowledge about violence in the elderly. Health workers, especially nurses, are still one of the parties trusted by the elderly group to get rid of all the pain and treatment they experience. The implementation of knowledge improvement programs is known to have a positive effect on nurses' knowledge, some limitations that may be considered by researchers or health workers in designing further activities include: the need for full support from policy makers in implementing the program, the need for a program that is sustainable and not only carried out once in a while, and the need for an active role from health workers to participate in finding out about violence in the elderly through several other ways.

Abstract

Vinegar is a seasoning that gives food a sour taste. Vinegar is obtained from the fermentation of ethanol by bacteria anaerobically. Ingredients that can be used to make alcoholic fermentation include dates, rice, and coconut water. Young coconut water is directly consumed, while coconut water from ripe fruit is disposed of as waste. Morella village is located on the coast of the island of Ambon, where coconut plants are in abundance. The abundance of this coconut plant is directly proportional to the old coconut water that is dumped into the environment. To decrease the coconut water waste, it is necessary to conduct training on making vinegar from coconut water for the people of Morella village. This community service was carried out based on counseling and training on making vinegar for the Morella Village people. Counseling was done to convey the benefits of Vinegar and how to make it. The training was carried out by demonstrating the procedure for making vinegar and providing tools and materials to partners and videos to produce vinegar independently. The results of vinegar products from Morella Village are reported to the service team and used as evidence of the success of the vinegar-making training. The results provide information that vinegar are products that the people of Morella village can cultivate as an opportunity to increase their economy.

Abstract

Teacher’s job requirements are not only in teaching but also in social interaction and administrative tasks and various knowledge and other supporting skills. High job demands and the dynamic experiences that teachers need to accomplish everyday could make them prone to burnout. Teachers under the organization of Majelis Pendidikan Indonesia (MPK) had unique characteristics and challenges that made them prone to burnout. This psychoeducation was needed to achieve the aim of building knowledge about burnout and all other aspects related to burnout. It was hoped that this knowledge could help teachers prevent the occurrence of burnout. With methods of presentations and online interactive discussion, the presenter discussed some of the things that can be done at an organizational level and individually. The comparison of the pre-test and post-test score showed an increase of understanding (the average of pretest score is 72.24 and posttest score is 77.67 of 100) of the materials around burnout and its aspects. Participants also gave positive feedback on an evaluation survey with 94% of the participants felt that they gained new knowledge and felt satisfied with the whole psychoeducation activities. For following up, it was suggested to include a method of small group discussion and included a practical manual about techniques for overcoming burnout for teachers. Furthermore, the systemic intervention urge to be done to develop burnout intervention service flow becomes more comprehensive.

Abstract

The tuna loin industry leaves quite a lot of waste in the form of thin meat tether mixed with fiber. Tuna tethers have good development prospects because they can become the main ingredient for making surimi. Surimi is an intermediate product that has a high functional protein content and has been recognized worldwide. Surimi is the raw material for fish jelly products such as dragon leg, meatballs, nuggets, and others. Based on observations, it turns out that tuna tethers have not been optimally utilized to improve the welfare of the community. The North Ambon Island Klasis area community does not know the processing of surimi and its development opportunities into various competitive products. The purpose of this activity is to utilize tuna tether through the application of surimi technology and dragon foot product processing to household wives from several villages on North Ambon Island. The target audience for this activity was 30 household wives from 17 villages in the North Ambon Island Klasis area. The activities were carried out from March to April 2022, consisting of three (3) stages , preparation, implementation of counseling, and training. The results of the paired sample T test show that there is a significant difference in the knowledge of the target audience before and after the implementation of counseling and training on the application of surimi technology and processing surimi into dragon foot products. The average post-test score of 30 participants increased by 59.39% after participating in counseling and training activities on the application of surimi technology and processing surimi into dragon foot products. At the end of the activity, the participants practiced surimi and dragon foot processing trials, showing 90% of the participants were quite skilled in processing the two products.

Abstract

Stunting is a worldwide issue that affects children, in which Indonesia has a high stunting rate of 36.4 percent of children stunted. Stunting has a significant negative impact on children's growth and development including nutritional status. To avoid this, it is vital to discover the problem as soon as feasible. The Card to Health (Kartu Menuju Sehat/KMS) and the Denver II instrument can be used for early detection, as well as child growth and development examinations. However, kindergarten teachers, who are on the front lines of education, do not yet have access to KMS and Denver II. The purpose of this activity is to increase teachers' abilities to diagnose stunting in children at a young age using KMS and Denver II. During the months of August to November 2019, the Pelangi Islamic Kindergarten in Depok carried out community service activities. Thirteen teachers and 18 pupils took part in the activity. As a result, 100 percent of teachers improved their ability to use KMS, and up to three children were classified as fat, one had autism, and one had reservations about Denver II. At the Pelangi Islamic Kindergarten, no students are considered stunted. Stunting and nutritional status can be detected by community service activities, and teachers' capacity to detect stunting and nutritional status using KMS and Denver II can be improved significantly.

Abstract

Given the effects of digital transformation on the tourism industry, the trends and paradigms in tourism have changed considerably, necessitating some creativity in the management of tourist villages as tourist destinations. The knowledge about the digitalization of tourism can in fact, help promote popular travelling sites, with both patrons and business owners benefitting from better systems of communication, reservation, and guest service. However, the institutional operations and management of the tourism awareness group (pokdarwis) in the community have yet to be optimally effective due to some institutional and managerial issues. Some 21st-century digital skills are identified to be helpful for this pokdarwis in its management of tourist villages, namely technical knowledge, information, communication, collaboration, creativity, and implementation of the Electronic Information and Transaction (ITE) Law. To support this effort, this community service activity (PKM) was carried out for 27 participants, who were all pokdarwis administrators, from May to October 2022, using a CBT approach. The results of the PKM activity indicate an increasing understanding that the ITE Law can provide a broad legal framework for online activities. There is also increasing awareness of social media as a communication medium that can facilitate online communication, exchange, and information access for the public, regardless of time or location. Of many social media platforms, YouTube and Instagram have become the options for publishing tourism information in Surau Village. It is nonetheless agreed that social media should be used with caution to avoid accusations of spreading false information and to ensure an effective implementation of the promotion activities. Considering this, mentoring in the use of social media in the marketing efforts will still be provided in the form of consultation, learning, and counseling.
