Abstract

This research aims to see how the Point Counter-Point learning strategy in social studies subjects can improve student learning achievement at Al-Hidayah Medan Private Junior High School (SMP). By focusing on social studies learning, where the points in the curriculum are key in understanding various social, economic and political aspects, this learning strategy becomes very relevant. This research uses a qualitative methodology using descriptive methods. This approach aims to provide a systematic, accurate and factual description of the phenomenon being studied. The results of this research show that the Point Counter-Point learning strategy makes a significant contribution to increasing student learning achievement. This is reflected in increased student involvement in discussions, development of critical thinking skills, as well as improvements in the way students organize and convey their ideas. This research provides in-depth insight into how this strategy functions in the learning context in class VII, as well as how it can improve students’ understanding and learning achievement in social studies subjects.

Abstract

Good governance is an important foundation in creating transparency, accountability, and integrity in organizational management. This study aims to analyze how the principles of good governance, internal control and competence of the financial performance of the Bekasi City local government are moderated by internal control. This study uses a quantitative methodology with a sample of 41 respondents who are financial employees in the Bekasi City government with statistical testing using Smart PLS 3.0. The results of the study found that (1) good governance, internal control and competence have a positive effect on the financial performance of the local government. (2) Good governance contributes to creating transparency and accountability. (3) Internal control in good financial reporting can prevent deviations. In addition, this study also found that the competence of human resources in the financial sector plays an important role in effective budget management. This study provides recommendations that the importance of improving governance, internal control, and human resource competence as a strategic effort to improve the financial performance of the local government.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the importance of learning hadith in the formation of Islamic law through a qualitative approach. This study uses a qualitative method, with a literature review approach to explore the view of how the learning of hadith contributes to the formation of Islamic law in accordance with the times. The findings of the study show that hadith learning based on understanding sanad, matan, and historical context can produce more relevant and applicable legal interpretations. In addition, a wrong or in-depth understanding of hadith can lead to abuse and errors in the determination of the law.  Deep learning of hadith is not only to know the history or story of the life of the Prophet Muhammad, but also to understand the ways in which the Prophet applied the law in various aspects of daily life.

Abstract

This study aims to interpret transformational leadership in changing the educational paradigm, namely in improving the quality of learning of alpha generation madrasah aliyah students. The research design used is qualitative research with a case study method. The sources of informants in this study consisted of principals, teachers, students, and student guardians. Data collection in this study was conducted through three main methods, namely in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results of this study show that transformational leadership at MAN 2 Banyuwangi has succeeded in changing the educational paradigm, namely in improving the quality of learning through soft skills development, digital learning hub development, and multimodal literacy development. The novelty in this research is the concept of transformational leadership that contributes to the quality of learning. The contribution of this study shows that the application of transformational leadership in Madrasah Aliyah can significantly change the educational paradigm.

Abstract

This research aims to interpret the transformation of visionary and collaborative leadership styles in madrasah publication innovation. The object of this research is educational consumers MAN 2 Banyuwangi, This research design uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, The source of informants in this study consisted of the head of the madrasa, and teachers. MAN 2 Banyuwangi. Data collection in this study was carried out through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and publication documentation, Data analysis in this study uses an interactive analysis model developed by Miles, Huberman, which includes three main steps: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the visionary and collaborative leadership styles at MAN 2 Banyuwangi are successful in contributing the publication innovation. The collaborative leadership strengthens educational community networks, transformation for resource management and innovation, to increasing Madrasah reputation.

Abstract

The Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat (MSIB) program, initiated by Indonesia’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in 2021, provides students with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the professional world. This study aims to determine the impact of MSIB on the personal development of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) students in 2023. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through interviews, observations, and documentation involving 10 UMS participants. Thematic descriptive analysis, validated through data triangulation, revealed significant positive impacts on students’ personal growth. The category of improved personal development is divided into four, namely: 1) improved personal development in working knowledge, 2) improved personal development in work skills, 3) improved personal development in work commitment, and 4) improved personal development in professional relationships. This research highlights MSIB’s role in fostering student development and bridging academic learning with industry demands, positioning it as a transformative higher education model.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of literacy culture in improving students’ composing ability in Indonesian subjects in secondary schools with a qualitative approach to case studies. The subject of this study is a group of students in one of the secondary schools who have applied literacy activities regularly in learning Indonesian. Data was collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews, and analysis of student writing products. The findings of the study show that the application of literacy culture in the classroom is able to improve students’ composing skills in terms of organizing ideas, creative expression, and using more appropriate and varied language. In addition, teacher support factors and a conducive school environment also accelerate the development of students’ writing skills. Literacy culture can play a significant role in improving students’ composing skills, although its application requires careful planning and consistency in its implementation.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of online learning in Islamic Education (PAI) using the Independent Curriculum and offers solutions to overcome these obstacles. Using a qualitative methodology, data were collected through in-depth interviews and literature reviews from various sources, including books, scientific publications, and interviews with PAI teachers at SMA Muhammadiyah 1. The key findings reveal three main challenges: a lack of parental involvement, low digital literacy among teachers and students, and unequal access to technology. Furthermore, the limited availability of engaging, contextual, and digital-based PAI content poses significant difficulties. This study recommends enhancing teacher training in digital literacy, developing technology-based PAI learning resources, and fostering collaboration with communities, parents, and schools. To increase student interest, it emphasizes project-based learning methods and the integration of Islamic technologies, such as digital Quran applications. This research aims to support the development of relevant and effective PAI learning strategies for the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the practice of academic supervision, its effectiveness in enhancing learning quality, and its impact on educational excellence in secondary schools in Kota Jayapura. Using a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory strategy, the research collected data from 138 respondents through surveys and in-depth interviews. Results show that academic supervision practices vary between schools, with systematic and collaborative approaches yielding better outcomes. The overall effectiveness is high (28.32 out of 30), positively impacting teachers’ and students’ learning quality, student achievement, and psychological-emotional well-being, though implementation challenges persist. The research introduces an integrated framework combining adaptive and collaborative supervision approaches tailored to Kota Jayapura’s local context. This study enhances understanding of supervision implementation in regions with significant socio-cultural diversity and provides recommendations for improving supervision effectiveness in diverse educational settings.

Abstract

This study aims to test the role of cognitive ability in mediating active learning and learning discipline on learning achievement. This research is a quantitative study with practical significance and data collection. The analysis technique used was regression analysis, and Sobel test. The results obtained that active learning has significant positive effect on cognitive abilities. Learning discipline has no effect on cognitive abilities. Active learning has no effect on learning achievement. Learning discipline has significant positive effect on learning achievement. Cognitive ability has no effect on learning achievement. Cognitive ability does not function to mediate active learning and learning discipline on learning achievement. The findings suggest prioritizing learning discipline to enhance learning achievement while focusing on active learning to boost cognitive abilities, providing actionable insights for educators and policymakers. The novelty lies in this integrated and region specific exploration that challenges existing educational theories and provides tailored insights for practical implementation. The research contributes to understanding the nuanced relationships between active learning, discipline, cognitive ability, learning achievement among sixth grade students. It provides actionable insights for educators, policymakers, and future researchers to develop more holistic strategies for enhancing learning achievement.
