Abstract

This research aims to analyze the readiness of MA Al Hikmah Kajen in developing school digitalization, focusing on infrastructure, digital competence of teachers and students, principal's leadership, and obstacles. Digitalization is crucial for education quality, yet many institutions face implementation challenges. MA Al Hikmah, a madrasah in a pesantren environment, uses digital components like online admissions and virtual classrooms, but their daily application is limited by internal policies restricting student device use. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with interviews, observation, and documentation, the study found commendable infrastructure readiness. Teacher competence shows progress but is uneven, especially among senior educators. The principal's leadership positively supports digitalization, though more adaptive policy encouragement is needed. Key impediments are the student gadget ban and persistent digital literacy limitations among some teachers. The research recommends flexible policies, continuous digital training, and cultivating a digital ecosystem aligned with pesantren values.

Abstract

This qualitative descriptive study investigates the application of a culture of shame in fostering disciplined character among teachers at MAPN 4 Medan. A culture of shame, rooted in societal norms, emphasizes accountability for misconduct. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, involving madrasa principals, vice-principals, teachers, and administrative staff. Analysis followed four stages: data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that implementing a culture of shame at MAPN 4 Medan has been effective, though not yet fully integrated. Socialization efforts include moral training, motivational programs, and instilling shame-based cultural values. This initiative aims to build teacher discipline and strengthen moral identity, leading to increased responsibility and professionalism. Positive changes observed include a reduction in rule violations and tardiness. While obstacles like cultural resistance exist, the overall approach of cultivating shame alongside motivation has positively impacted disciplined character and moral identity, fostering greater discipline, responsibility, and professionalism, despite the need for individual awareness.

Abstract

This study purpose to explore the lived experiences of students, teachers, and parents regarding the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in junior and senior high school education across three model schools in Bandung, Indonesia. Employing a qualitative narrative inquiry design, data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight informants representing public, religious, and vocational school settings. The findings reveal that AI is experienced as a formative mirror, offering real-time feedback and encouraging skill development, but also evokes emotional contradictions, including anxiety, perfectionism, and spiritual dissonance. Teachers and parents were found to be essential mediators who reframed AI’s presence through relational, ethical, and religious frameworks. In faith-based contexts, participants expressed concern over AI’s inability to capture sincerity (niat) or foster moral reflection, underscoring its epistemological and spiritual limits. The study concludes that AI must be integrated through a culturally responsive, ethically anchored approach that balances digital efficiency with human meaning, emotional resonance, and pedagogical intentionality.
