Abstract

This study aims to improve the prosocial behavior of prospective Counselors or Guidance and Counseling Students at PGRI Madiun University (UNIPMA). Prosocial behavior is an important component that must be embedded in the counselor. However, based on the results of preliminary studies, the facts in the field show that the prosocial behavior of UNIPMA students is still relatively low, marked as much as 65% of the total active Guidance and Counseling Study Program Students the level of prosocial behavior is still low. Responding to this problem, there need to be concrete steps to overcome it. One of the strategies that researchers try to offer is to provide reality group counseling to improve student prosocial behavior. This research uses a quantitative approach, with quasi pre-test and post-test design experiments. The results of hypothesis testing found that reality group counseling was declared effective in improving student prosocial behavior. The results of this study have only been tested in a limited sample, so care needs to be taken in generalizing to a wider population.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan warna terhadap memori jangka pendek siswa. Penelitian kepustakaan ini berfokus pada tinjauan pustaka tentang warna dalam pembelajaran dan memori jangka pendek siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan studi pustaka dari berbagai buku dan jurnal penelitian yang relevan. Kemudian dilakukan analisis data secara deskriptif naratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan warna dalam pembelajaran mempengaruhi memori jangka pendek siswa, ditandai dengan meningkatnya fungsi biopsikologis pada siswa, lebih terkonsentrasi, tertarik untuk belajar, tidak cemas, lebih imajinatif, kreatif, dan produktif, serta melaksanakan tugas-tugas kognitif. dengan retensi yang baik.

Abstract

Learning is closely related to one's ability to give focus and attention to instructional activities. The ability to maintain attention for a period of time is especially critical between 6 and 7 years. At this age, children's attentional abilities are not fully developed. This study aimed to gain knowledge of actual behavior related to the attention span of first graders in elementary school during classroom activities. The data was obtained by observing one grade 1 elementary school in its natural setting with the time sampling method. Observations are based on the 'on-task and 'off-task behavior shown by the students. What found that the longest time elementary school grade 1 students were able to show 'on-task behavior indicating their attention span was 7 minutes. These results indicate a gap with the expected attention span of grade 1 elementary school children, which is about 18 minutes.

Abstract

The problem of low humility impacts bullying, arrogance, and anti-social behavior that is often found in schools. Humility is one of the character strengths, which is defined as the ability to accept suggestions from others, respect and respect others, not only think about yourself but also care about others. This study aims to determine the prevalence of the humility character of high school students in the city of Semarang. What conducted this survey research on 246 high school students aged 14-18 years. The instrument used to determine students' humility is the humility scale adapted from Elliot (2010) with 32 items with aspects including openness, self-forgetfulness, accurate self-assessment, and focus on others with a Likert scale type. The validity of the humility scale is 0.842, and the reliability is 0.901. Students with high humility are 182 students (74%), while 34 students (13.8%) and low 30% of students. The results showed that most students have high humility, and four aspects of humility have a significant relationship. The independent t-test results obtained sign 0.431 (p <0.05), meaning that there is no difference in the humility of male and female students. For further research, it is recommended to test the effectiveness of an intervention to increase humility with an individual or group counseling approach.

Abstract

This study examined the factors of divorce and children’s psychological condition of and religious education of children as the victim of divorce circumstance and the impact of parental divorce on the children. This research used the qualitative method. The researcher used observation, interviews, and documentation in collecting the data. The technique of checking the validity of the data used was the triangulation technique. In this study, the triangulation technique used was source triangulation. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative. The research results on the causes of divorce in Wonomerto Subdistrict exactly at Wonorejo village were due to lack of economic problems. The husband had an affair with other women. Divorce would change the status and roles between husband and wife. A husband would be a widower, while a wife would be a widow. Divorce also impacts children's psychological and religious education in terms of children's psychology, such as changes in children's attitudes and behavior. The child was often angry, embarrassed, insecure, and many others. In terms of religious education, children were also found many difficulties, and it happened because no one encourages, supports, and gives advice anymore to them.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the results of preliminary research, which shows the level of optimism of the students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mathla'ul Anwar University Banten batch 2018 of 35.6% who are in the medium category, 30% of students are pessimistic, and 3.3% of students are people who very pessimistic. This study aims to prove the effectiveness of the play technique treatment model in increasing the level of optimism. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed using a non-parametric test. Treatment was carried out with One Group Pretest-Posttest Experimental Design. The results showed that the results of the pretest and posttest scores decreased. This proves that the playing technique is effective in increasing the level of student optimism. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh hasil penelitian pendahuluan yang menunjukkan tingkat optimisme mahasiswa Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Mathla'ul Anwar Banten angkatan 2018 sebesar 35,6% yang berada pada kategori sedang, 30% mahasiswa pesimis, dan 3,3% siswa adalah orang yang sangat pesimis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan keefektifan model perlakuan teknik bermain dalam meningkatkan tingkat optimisme. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan uji non parametrik. Treatment dilakukan dengan One Group Pretest-Posttest Experimental Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil skor pretest dan posttest mengalami penurunan. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa teknik bermain efektif untuk meningkatkan tingkat optimisme mahasiswa.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to describe the profile of the career selection ability of students in the science department of SMA Negeri 7 Bekasi before and after group guidance services were carried out with group exercise techniques and the effect of group guidance with group exercise techniques on the career selection abilities of students in science majors at SMAN 7 Bekasi City. The research method used is an experimental design with a nonequivalent (pretest-posttest) control group design. The population is 180 students and the sample is 40 students taken by random sampling. The data collection technique is a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used is the Independent Samples Test. Abstract

Who conducted this research on students of the Faculty of Business Economics, Telkom University Class of 2017 to know how the influence of self-efficacy (X) on learning outcomes (Y) during the e-learning period with learning motivation (Z) as the moderator variable. In this study, the authors collected data using a questionnaire with a total sample of 285 respondents and used probability sampling with a simple random sampling method. The data analysis technique used is quantitative analysis with linear regression and multiple linear regression methods with moderating variables using the IBM SPSS Statistics program. The results showed that self-efficacy (X) partially affected learning outcomes (Y), and simultaneously learning motivation (Z) and self-efficacy (X) influenced learning outcomes (Z) during the e-learning period. We can conclude that self-efficacy (X) can improve learning outcomes (Y) during the e-learning period. Still, when coupled with high learning motivation (Z), it will increase the relationship of self-efficacy (X) to learning outcomes. (Y) so that it can further improve learning outcomes during the e-learning period for students of the 2017 Faculty of Business Economics, Telkom University.

Abstract

This study aimed at examining the role of sensation seeking as a moderator of school climate towards bullying. The research hypothesis is the sensation seeking has a role as a moderator in the relationship between school climate and the tendency to bullying. The participants were 230 middle school students. The data collection exerted the tendency to bullying scale, school climate scale, and sensation seeking scale. Who conducted moderation analysis by using macro-PROCESS analysis from Hayes. The result illustrated that sensation seeking has a role as a moderator in the relationship between school climate and the tendency to bullying. The discussion in this study focused on the importance of controlling sensation seeking to reduce the tendency to bullying by developing rational thinking and self-control and the importance of facilitating the thrill activities for adolescents with high sensation seeking.

Abstract

Student engagement greatly influences education, especially during Distance Learning (PJJ), such as during the covid-19 pandemic. To find out the student engagement of students undergoing PJJ, it is necessary to measure student engagement. A measuring tool that provides comprehensive and standardized information and is also widely adopted in several countries is the SEM-MacArthur measuring instrument. SEM-MacArthur is a measuring tool that measures student engagement based on student engagement theory from J. A. Fredricks & Paris (2005). Adaptation is carried out based on the guidelines for adaptation of measuring instruments from the International Test Commission (ITC), which includes a forward-backward translation process, followed by an expert review to test language and conceptual equivalence. The validation process tests content validity through the Content Validity Index (CVI) and constructs validity using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The trial was conducted on 233 high school students in Bandung who were between grades X to XII with ages ranging from 14 to 18 years. Based on this trial process, it is known that each indicator, dimension, and construct meets all the criteria for Goodness of Fit (RMSEA < 0.08; CFI > 0.9). In addition, the value of Construct Reliability (CR) > 0.70 and CFA > 0.40 was also obtained. Thus, the Indonesian version of the SEM-MacArthur measuring instrument in the context of PJJ can be used as a valid and reliable measuring tool.Keywords: school engagement measurement-macarthur (sem); student engagement; distance learning (pjj)Student engagement memiliki pengaruh yang besar dalam dunia pendidikan khususnya saat Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) seperti saat pandemi covid-19 ini. Untuk mengetahui student engagement yang dimiliki oleh siswa yang sedang menjalani PJJ, perlu dilakukan sebuah pengukuran mengenai student engagement. Adapun sebuah alat ukur yang memberikan informasi secara komprehensif dan terstandarisasi dan juga banyak diadaptasi di beberapa negara adalah alat ukur SEM-MacArthur. SEM-MacArthur merupakan alat ukur yang mengukur student engagement yang berlandaskan teori student engagement dari J. A. Fredricks & Paris (2005). Adaptasi dilakukan berdasarkan pedoman adaptasi alat ukur dari International Test Commission (ITC), yang meliputi proses forward-backward translation, dilanjutkan dengan expert review untuk menguji ekuivalensi bahasa dan konseptual. Adapun proses validasi dilakukan dengan menguji validitas isi, melalui Content Validity Index (CVI), dan validitas konstruk, menggunakan Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). Uji coba dilakukan kepada 233 ssiswa SMA di Kota Bandung yang berada antara kelas X hingga XII dengan usia berkisar antara 14 hingga 18 tahun. Berdasarkan proses uji coba ini, diketahui bahwa setiap indikator, dimensi, dan konstruk memenuhi semua kriteria Goodness of Fit (RMSEA < 0,08; CFI > 0,9). Di samping itu, diperoleh juga nilai Construct Reliability (CR) > 0,70 dan CFA > 0,40. Dengan demikian, alat ukur SEM-MacArthur versi Bahasa Indonesia konteks PJJ dapat digunakan sebagai alat ukur yang valid dan reliabel.Kata kunci: school engagement measurement-MacArthur (sem); student engagement; pembelajaran jarak jauh (pjj)
