Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between attitudes toward singlehood and psychological well-being among early adult single women. This quantitative correlational study involved 346 unmarried single women aged 25-40 years, who were neither nuns nor bhikkhunis, selected using a snowball sampling technique. Attitudes toward singlehood were measured using the Attitude Toward Singlehood Scale (α = 0.931), while psychological well-being was assessed using the Psychological Well-Being Scale (α = 0.895). The results showed a significant positive relationship between attitudes toward singlehood and autonomy (r = 0.132; p < 0.05), as well as significant negative relationships with personal growth (r = –0.140; p < 0.05) and purpose in life (r = –0.143; p < 0.05). No significant relationships were found with environmental mastery, positive relations with others, or self-acceptance. Overall, these findings indicate that positive attitudes toward singlehood strengthen autonomy but are associated with lower personal growth and a diminished sense of purpose in life.

Abstract

Life skills education plays a crucial role in supporting students' academic achievement, social-emotional well-being, and adaptive capacity from an early age. However, systematic reviews on valid life skills assessment instruments that are developmentally appropriate for elementary school students from a guidance and counseling perspective remain limited. This study aims to systematically examine the trends and directions in the development of life skills assessment instruments for elementary school students from a guidance and counseling perspective. The method employed was a Systematic Literature Review following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Literature searches were conducted across four major databases namely Scopus, Web of Science, ERIC, and PsycINFO, covering articles published between 2010 and 2025, yielding a total of 1,020 records. Through a rigorous process of identification, screening, and eligibility assessment, 90 articles met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using thematic synthesis techniques. The findings indicate that life skills assessment instruments for elementary school students primarily measure domains of social-interpersonal skills, emotional regulation, self-management, and problem-solving, while aspects related to career awareness and contextual adaptability receive relatively limited attention. Self-report scales and teacher ratings are the most dominant types of instruments, whereas performance-based and digital assessments are still emerging and remain underutilized. Geographically, instrument development is predominantly concentrated in Global North countries, raising concerns regarding cultural relevance and measurement equity. These findings underscore the importance of developing life skills assessment instruments that are developmentally sensitive, culturally responsive, and aligned with the needs of guidance and counseling services in elementary schools.

Abstract

Self-management and learning discipline are critical competencies that influenceacademic success, particularly in vocational education where practical andtheoretical learning demands high student autonomy. This study investigates therelationship between self-management and learning discipline among vocational highschool students. A quantitative correlational design was employed, with datacollected from 48 tenth-grade students using validated Likert-scale questionnaires.Descriptive statistical analysis indicated that students exhibited moderate to highlevels of both self-management and learning discipline. Pearson product-momentcorrelation analysis revealed a statistically significant positive relationship betweenthe two variables (r = 0.66, p < .001), indicating that students with stronger selfmanagement skills tend to demonstrate higher learning discipline. These findings underscore the importance of integrating self-management development into vocational curricula to foster disciplined learning behaviors. Educators and school administrators are encouraged to implement structured interventions that enhance students’ time management, goal setting, and self-regulation. This study provides empirical evidence supporting the role of self-management as a foundational driver of academic discipline in vocational education contexts.

Abstract

Decision-making skills are essential life skills that need to be developed from an early age, as they contribute to children’s independence, self-confidence, and critical thinking abilities. The development of these skills is strongly influenced by parenting styles, particularly strict parents or authoritarian parenting, which is characterized by high control and limited child participation. This study aims to comprehensively examine children’s decision-making skills from the perspective of strict parents using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Relevant peer-reviewed articles published over the last ten years were systematically selected and analyzed following the PRISMA guidelines and thematic synthesis techniques. The findings indicate that authoritarian parenting tends to have a negative impact on children’s decision-making skills, particularly in terms of autonomy, emotional regulation, and self-confidence. Although parental strictness may provide behavioral structure, its positive effects are limited unless accompanied by open communication and emotional support. This study highlights the importance of balancing parental control and autonomy support to foster optimal development of children’s decision-making skills across developmental stages

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between trust and stress levels in married couples. The study sample consisted of 187 husbands and wives in Titi Kuning Village, selected using purposive sampling, considering the characteristics of respondents who are married and living together as the unit of analysis relevant to the research objectives. Of these, 181 respondents met the assumption of data normality and were subsequently analyzed. Measurements of trust and stress levels were carried out using psychological scales that have been tested for validity and reliability, each consisting of 39 and 40 items. Data analysis used the Pearson Product Moment correlation method after all analytical assumptions, including normality and linearity, were met. The findings indicate a significant negative relationship between trust and stress levels, with a correlation coefficient of -0.603 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The result concludes that higher trust are associated with lower stress levels, and conversely, lower trust are correspond with higher stress levels among married couples in Titi Kuning Sub-District. The effective contribution of trust to stress, with an R-squared value of 0.364, indicates that increased trust between husband and wife contributes to reduced stress levels. Thus, trust contributes 36.4% to stress levels, with the remaining 63.6% influenced by other factors. These findings provide a theoretical contribution to the development of marital psychology studies by highlighting the role of trust as a significant psychological factor in managing marital stress. Practically, these findings suggest the importance of strengthening trust in psychological interventions and marital counseling programs to reduce stress levels in married couples.

Abstract

Adolescents' use of social media has grown ubiquitous, bringing with it opportunities and threats to their emotional and mental health. The purpose of this research is to examine how teens' self-confidence is affected by their use of social media. A survey method was used to gather data from teens within a particular age range. The results show that the more time spent on social media, the lower the self-confidence level. Teens' self-esteem takes a hit when they use social media to compare themselves to others' ideals of beauty, wealth, and lifestyle. Additionally, social validation in the form of likes, comments, and follower counts influences how teenagers perceive themselves. However, this study also finds that social media can have positive effects when used wisely, such as serving as a means of self-expression and identity building. Therefore, it is crucial for teenagers to have good digital literacy and support from their social environment to utilize social media healthily without compromising their self-confidence.

Abstract

Transitions across educational levels and the shift into the world of work often become highly demanding phases for students, as they require rapid adjustments in learning strategies, academic identity, and social relationships. When these transitions are not adequately supported, students may experience what this article conceptualizes as a crisis of developmental continuity. The purpose of this article is to critically describe this crisis and to examine the psychological, social, and institutional factors that shape the continuity of student development within educational practice. This study employs a systematic literature review by synthesizing peer-reviewed journal articles retrieved from Scopus, ERIC, and Google Scholar. The selection process applied keywords related to developmental sustainability, educational transitions, and psychological variables (self-awareness, self-efficacy, and self-regulation), followed by PRISMA screening procedures, resulting in 31 articles that were analyzed thematically. The review reveals that crises of developmental continuity commonly arise when students’ self-awareness, self-efficacy, and self-regulation weaken during periods of transition, while support from teachers, peers, families, and educational institutions remains insufficient. Programs that strengthen self-regulation, build supportive relational climates, and offer tiered interventions such as PBIS, self-regulated learning training, and peer mentoring are shown to help maintain developmental continuity. The article concludes that sustaining student development should be regarded as an essential indicator of educational quality and requires deliberate collaboration among educators, counsellors, families, and policymakers to design transitional supports that are humane, adaptive, and sustainable.

Abstract

The extensive proliferation of digital technology among elementary school-aged children frequently poses the risk of social behavioral issues and diminished empathy, attributed to insufficient self-regulation and inadequate supervision. This study seeks to investigate the intricate mechanisms underlying the relationship between children's digital literacy and their social behavior by analyzing the dual function of parental interaction quality (Parenting Style) as both a mediator and a moderator.  Data were gathered from 105 elementary school students in Surakarta City utilizing a quantitative correlational methodology.  The hypothesis testing yielded significant results:  The study demonstrated that parenting style serves as a mediator, indicating that the beneficial effects of digital literacy on social behavior primarily manifest through the perception of positive parenting.  Additionally, Parenting Style served as a moderator, validating that the beneficial effects of digital literacy are amplified when the quality of parental engagement is elevated.  These results highlight the need to improve Digital Parenting programs that stress the importance of open communication and active parental involvement as key elements in making sure that children's digital skills lead to good behavior.

Abstract

Abstract The digital transformation driven by the Fourth Industrial Revolution has given rise to algorithmic management, where artificial intelligence-based systems actively supervise, evaluate, and direct employees. This new paradigm creates unique psychological challenges known as algorithmic anxiety. This study aims to analyze the influence of algorithmic anxiety on work stress and professional self-confidence among employees in the digital era. This research uses a quantitative approach with a causal associative design. The participants consisted of 250 employees in the city of Padang who work for companies implementing algorithmic management, with an age range of 18 to 35 years, selected through a convenience sampling technique. Data were collected using the Algorithmic Anxiety Scale (SKA), an adaptation of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), and an adaptation of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES). Data analysis was performed using a simple linear regression test. The research findings indicate that algorithmic anxiety has a significant influence on work stress and professional self-confidence. This influence is positive for work stress, meaning an increase in algorithmic anxiety will increase work stress. Conversely, the influence is negative for professional self-confidence, where an increase in algorithmic anxiety will decrease the level of professional self-confidence. The contribution of algorithmic anxiety to the dependent variables is 8.8%. In conclusion, algorithmic management is a significant source of psychological pressure for employees in the modern workplace.
