Abstract

Cervical cancer is a type of cancer that causes high mortality and morbidity rates in women. Women's awareness of screening to prevent cervical cancer is still low. This study aims to analyze the factors that cause women's low awareness of cervical cancer screening. This research uses a correlational design with a cross sectional approach. The total sample was 94 people with the criteria being women aged 15 to 59 years, married, living with their husband, and domiciled in Sungai Rangas Ulu Village. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. This study used questionnaire A in the form of demographic data and questionnaire B in the form of a questionnaire about knowledge, attitudes and satisfaction with health workers. Data collection was carried out in July-August 2023. in Sungai Rangas Ulu Village in West Martapura District, Banjar Regency. The research questionnaire was filled out directly by research respondents at their homes. The results of the Chi Square test obtained a p value of 0.038, which means there is a relationship between knowledge and attitude and the Chi Square test obtained a p value of 0.013, which means there is a significant relationship between satisfaction with health workers and attitude. The results of the multiple linear regression test obtained a sig level. of 0.000 that knowledge and satisfaction have a role in women's attitudes with a beta value of 0.575 as the most dominant factor influencing women's attitudes towards cervical cancer screening. Women's knowledge and satisfaction with health workers plays an important role in influencing women's attitudes towards cervical cancer screening.

Abstract

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the SARS Cov-2 virus. Covid-19 caused a pandemic that has been going on since 2020. Since the pandemic, many people have been confirmed, and many have recovered who are said to be survivors of COVID-19. COVID-19 survivors can still experience symptoms such as brain fog. Students as survivors of COVID-19 who do learning can feel stress; the stress they get is called academic stress. This research was conducted to find a relationship between academic stress and brain fog in students who survived COVID-19. This study used a cross-sectional design involving 125 student survivors of COVID-19. Data analysis showed that 49 students (39.2%) did not experience brain fog, while 76 students (60.8%) were suspected of experiencing brain fog. Spearman's rank correlation test also showed a correlation between academic stress levels and brain fog (p value = 0.000) in students who survived COVID-19 with an r value of 0.409. The incidence of brain fog in COVID-19 survivors is deemed  to be influenced by academic stress. There needs to be good stress management for students who are survivors of COVID-19 to maintain their thinking skills.

Abstract

Lower back pain is one of the most common complaints experienced by pregnant women, particularly in the third trimester. Pregnancy exercise is an effective intervention to alleviate this discomfort. This study aimed to evaluate the differences in lower back pain levels before and after pregnancy exercise in third-trimester pregnant women at UPTD Klungkung I Community Health Center. A quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach was utilized, involving 21 third-trimester pregnant women selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) and analyzed with the Wilcoxon test following the Shapiro-Wilk normality test. The results showed a mean lower back pain score of 7.14 (SD = 0.793) before the intervention, with a significant reduction after pregnancy exercises (p < 0.001). These findings indicate a substantial improvement in lower back pain among participants after pregnancy exercises. It is recommended that pregnant women actively engage in pregnancy exercise programs to enhance comfort during pregnancy and alleviate back pain complaints.

Abstract

Increased serum production is a complication that often occurs in the period off post laparotomy surgery, with the prolongation of serum production can indicate that there is still a cavity under the post-operative wound filled with serum fluid. Increased serum production causes the drain to take longer to be removed and the hospitalization period is longer, resulting in higher hospital bills. This study aims to analyze the relationship of Body Mass Index (BMI) with serum production post laparotomy surgery and to analyze the relationship early mobilization with serum production post laparotomy surgery. This research design is correlation with cross sectional approach technique and sampling technique using accidental sampling with 18 respondents. The instrument used in this study was an observation sheet. All data obtained tabulated and univariate analysis and bivariate analysis using Pearson correlation performed. The results of the normality test (Shapiro-Wilk) stated that the data normally distributed so that the Pearson correlation test could be carried out using software Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS 20). Correlation test results on BMI variables (ρ = 0.001; r = 0.812), and early mobilization variables (ρ = 0.009; r = - 0.594). Therefore, recommended for implementing nurses, to improve nursing care for patients post laparotomy surgery in the process of emptying serum production. Where in patients who have a high BMI to observe serum production more closely and perform early mobilization training care or provide direction to more often perform early mobilization so that serum production runs out quickly.

Abstract

Hemoglobin levels play an important role in the health status of adolescents. Low hemoglobin levels in the blood can interfere with the growth process, decrease fitness levels, memory and immunity, and concentration levels. It can affect learning ability and academic achievement in adolescents. Sleep quality is thought to be one of the important factors that can affect hemoglobin regulation in the body. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between sleep quality and hemoglobin levels in adolescents at SMAS Sunan Kalijaga Jabung Malang Regency. The research method used observational-cross sectional with a total of 56 adolescents with the Multistage Sampling technique. We used the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) questionnaire to determine sleep quality and took capillary blood samples to determine hemoglobin levels. The results showed that most adolescents (89.3%) had poor sleep quality and 39.3% of adolescents had low hemoglobin levels. The correlation test used Spearman Rho and the results were p-value = 0.021 and r = -0.308. This means that there is a relationship between sleep quality and hemoglobin levels. Increasing sleep quality affects the regulation of blood hemoglobin levels in adolescents.

Abstract

Breast self-examination (BSE) or SADARI is one of the first ways to find out breast cancer by seeing and feeling if there are abnormalities. The Indonesian Ministry of Health in 2022 said that the incidence of breast cancer in Indonesia was 26 per 100 thousand population, and 70% were detected at an advanced stage and could result in death. Delays in early detection of breast cancer due to lack of knowledge and information. Health education about BSE is important as an effort to prevent breast cancer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of BSE health education on knowledge about early detection of breast cancer in SMA Negeri 01 Jatibarang. This type of research uses a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-post test design without control. The sample in this study was female students in grades 10 and 11, who were taken using the simple random sampling technique with as many as 78 respondents. The Wilcoxcon signed rank test statistical test showed a p-value of 0.000 <0.05, which means that there is an effect of health education on knowledge using the demonstration method. Based on this research, it is expected that young women can apply knowledge and implement BSE prevention as an effort to detect early breast cancer.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has created a risk in families, especially for those with children with special needs. An inappropriate response to the impact of the pandemic has the potential to make the existing condition worse. The implementation of social restrictions causes all activities to be carried out at home, both working and studying. The positive thing is that parents have more time to take care of their children. However, there are also parents who complain of fatigue and find it difficult, especially those who have children with special needs such as autism. The closure of treatment centers such as speech therapy and physical and social skills has an impact on the development of their basic skills. This is a challenge for parents in raising them in the current situation. The aim of this study was to understand the influence of resilience towards parenting stress on mothers of children with autism disorder in the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design used was cross-sectional. The population in this study were mothers of a child with autism disorder who attended the Pembina Special School in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The sampling technique used was total sampling. Linear regression analysis was used in the study. The study result showed p-value 0.023 < 0.05, which means that there is an influence on the level of resilience with parenting stress experienced by mothers who have children with autism disorder during the COVID-19 pandemic. The resilience level of mothers was at a moderate level, although mothers’ parenting stress was low. Parenting guidance and assistance for children with autism disorder needs to be done. This aims to improve coping strategies and family resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic.
