Abstract

This study aims to count the transaction costs on farms of hybrid corn of dry seeds and analyze the factors that the transaction costs affect on farms of hybrid corn of dry seeds at through UPJ. This research was conducted in the Gorontalo province with samples in Gorontalo disctrict and Boalemo and using ekononometric equation analysis as a method of analysis. The results showed that the value of the average transaction costs on farm of hybrid corn of dry seed sales amounted to Rp1.545.466,- per transaction on per farming, and the factors that affect significantly the fault tolerance of 5 percent to the transaction cost on farms of hybrid corn of dry seeds sales consist of the total production, regional market prices, technical labor wages, commissions and degradation rate. The conclusions in this study stated that the total transaction costs incurred the hybrid maize of dry seeds farmers on sales is still high enough to reduce farm income and the factors that the transaction cost affect on sales of hybrid corn of dry seeds significantly includes the total production, regional market prices, technical labor wages, commissions and degradation rate.

Abstract

Introduction: Banyuwangi has several granaries that produce robusta coffee with a unique taste, one of which is in Kalipuro District. However, it is important to note that in managing smallholder coffee plantations sustainability is very important. Especially if the smallholder wants to improve the quality of coffee and the welfare of coffee farmers. The purpose of this study is to analyze and examine the factors that influence the sustainability status of smallholder coffee plantations in Gombengsari Village and Telemung Village, Kalipuro District, Banyuwangi Regency. Methods: The method used is Multidimensional Scaling (MDS), which has been modified, namely RAP-Kopi (Rapid Appraisal Techniques Kopi), which will produce sustainability index values and sensitive attributes of five main dimensions (ecological, economic, social, institutional, technological). Results: Based on the results of the analysis, the sustainability status of smallholder coffee plantations in Kalipuro District is 61,854 including the criteria for being quite sustainable. Meanwhile, the sensitive attributes are divided into 4 attributes, namely less than optimal waste management, fluctuating selling price determination, formal education level of coffee farmers, less than optimal use of financial institutions, and less than optimal utilization of coffee bean drying technology. Conclusion: To be able to improve the sustainability status of coffee plantations in Kalipuro District, a holistic and comprehensive approach is needed from the community level to the central government.

Abstract

Introduction: The development of smallholder coffee agro-tourism in East Java is the development of local community-based tourism destinations. The development was ideal if there was an increase in community participation, an increase in the local economy, and a contribution to conservation. However, in the initial study, there were several problems that caused smallholder coffee agro-tourism in East Java to lack competitiveness. This study aims to analyze the key factors that can be used as a reference in the right strategy in developing smallholder coffee agro-tourism in East Java. Methods: This study uses mixed methods using qualitative and quantitative data. Abstract

Introduction: Coconut palm sugar is a commercial product that continues to experience a trend of progress in both local and global markets. This triggers competition between manufacturers. Therefore, it is necessary to make an effort to diversify products to be able to increase competitiveness. However, this diversification will certainly incur costs, so it is necessary to conduct studies aimed at increasing the added value of coconut palm sugar products with and without iodine fortification and statistically different testing of them. Methods: Value added analysis was conducted using the Hayami method. The increase between coconut palm sugar products and their diversification is calculated from the difference in value add. Then the two groups of products were tested for significant differences with Mann Whitney. Results: from the results of the study it was found that the value add increasing in coconut palm sugar with iodine fortification products was 7% or Rp. 2,086 per kg. In addition, from the results of the Mann Whitney test, it is statistically proven that the value add of the two products is significantly different, where the smallest U value is smaller than the calculated Z value (-1 28.58). Conclusion: Value add and profit can be increased by diversifying coconut palm sugar products into iodine fortified palm sugar.
