Abstract

The low quality at each level and education unit is caused by a lack of learning media that helps students learn. This study aims to develop multimedia teaching materials through the video scribe and Camtasia study applications based on multiliterate elementary school students and to determine the feasibility and responses of students to multimedia teaching materials. This study used the R&D (Research and Development) research method with a modified Borg and Gall research design. The population in the limited trial numbered 20 students. The sampling technique used the purposive sampling technique. The data collection instruments in this study were observation sheets, questionnaire sheets, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that validation by media experts got 90.28% (very feasible), language experts 99.17% (very feasible), material experts 92.11% (very feasible). The results of the student response questionnaire in the field trial showed 96.41% with very feasible criteria. Based on these results, the final product in the form of multimedia teaching materials through the multiliterate-based videoscribe and Camtasia studio applications for elementary school students is very suitable for use for learning activities of fifth-grade elementary school students. The implication of this research is to provide learning media facilities in the form of multimedia teaching materials that can facilitate student learning needs.

Abstract

Pandemic covid-19 has a significant impact on the world of education. Changes in the learning system affect the learning process. The problem arises felt by educators of east Kalimantan palm oil plantations related to online learning support facilities. Network limitations and communication tools become a separate¬¬ problem in educating the nation's children during the covid-19 pandemic. This study aims to identify strategies, methods, obstacles, and solutions for teachers in solving problems during the covid-19 pandemic. The research was conducted through qualitative methods, involving three elementary school teachers. Observation data retrieval techniques, interviews, and documentation. Test the data's validity by triangulation the sources .the research subjects of three educators in Teladan Prima Benua Baru and Teladan Prima 01 elementary schools. Data analysis using Miles &Huberman consists of three activities that coincide: data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing. The results showed obstacles, namely smartphone ownership, the unavailability of network coverage for the internet, TV, radio, limited teaching materials, student home distance, student discipline, parental limitations in accompanying children to learn, and time constraints. Teacher problem-solving strategies include implementing blended learning, creating learning groups, regular visits to students, partnering with parents, adapting teaching plans, optimizing electronic media, and utilizing creative media. Thus, aspects of problem-solving skills are essential for educators.

Abstract

Less attractive learning media causes low interest in student learning. So the need for concrete learning media following the stages of student development. This study aimed to create a valid and practical demonstration-based learning video on changing objects in the fifth grade of elementary school. This research is development research using the 4D model. The subjects of this study were two material experts, two media experts, two practitioners, and five students. The method used in data collection in this study is the rating scale method with an instrument in the form of a rating scale ranging from 1-4. The data obtained were analyzed by calculating the validity index of expert judgment and calculating the average response of practitioners and students. The analysis results showed that the material expert's validity index obtained the lowest score of 0.84 and the highest score was 1 with the very good category. The media expert validity index got the lowest score of 0.67 in the good category, and the highest score was 1, which is in the very good category. The overall average score of the practitioner's response was 3.82, and the student response was 3.78, which was in the very good category. Based on the results of this analysis, demonstration-based instructional video media on the topic of changing objects in fifth-grade elementary schools were declared good and suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact in various fields, including education. One of the government's efforts to break the chain of spreading COVID-19 is to carry out learning activities online for all levels of education. This study aims to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the learning motivation of fourth grade elementary school students. This type of research is descriptive research, with quantitative and qualitative techniques. The population of this study were all fourth grade students in elementary school, amounting to 186 students. Determination of the sample using saturated sample technique so that the sample used is 186 students. The research data were obtained using the non-test method, namely with interview guidelines and instruments in the form of a Likert scale questionnaire for student learning motivation. The research data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis methods. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the learning process in grade IV SD during the COVID-19 pandemic was carried out in a combination of online and offline. Analysis of the motivation questionnaire data showed that the average student motivation, namely 79.71, was in the low / low category. So, it can be concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic has a negative impact on student learning motivation.

Abstract

The lack of availability of the assessment instruments used and the unfulfilled cognitive level C4-C6 resulted in the assessment carried out less than optimal. This study aimed to develop an instrument for assessing science learning outcomes based on HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills). This research was development research that uses a 4D model (four-D model) with development stages consisting of define, design, develop, and distribute. This development research was only carried out until the development stage. The subject of this research was the HOTS-based science learning outcome assessment instrument in the form of grids and multiple-choice test sheets. Data were obtained by using interviews, observation, and test methods. The validation of the assessment instrument was carried out by two material experts using a validation sheet and 78 students for a limited trial using multiple-choice objective test instruments. The results obtained will be analyzed for validity, reliability, discriminatory power, level of difficulty, and quality of distractors. The results of the analysis of the HOTS-based science learning outcome assessment instrument had a validity of 0.90 which was in the very high category, reliability of 0.81 which was in the very high category. Distinguishing analysis obtained 2 items with very good criteria, 14 items with good criteria, and 9 items with sufficient criteria. In the difficulty level test, 12 questions were obtained in the easy category and 13 questions in the medium category. Analysis of the distractor quality test found 63 distractors were at the >5% level, which means the distractors are functioning well and 12 distractors were at the 5% level, which means the distractors were not functioning properly. These results indicated that the HOTS-based science learning outcome test assessment instrument developed was valid and reliable and is suitable for use as an assessment instrument in various styles of material.
